Kitbash 1/6 scale Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in U.S. Army Winter Officer's Service Uniform WIP

In the 2011 movie "Captain America: The First Avenger", Steve Rogers would at times be wearing the U.S. Army Regulation Winter Officer's Service Uniform when he's not out for battle or in his Captain America costume which was effectively his battle dress.

This is a quick kitbash of a 1/6 scale Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America in the World War II U.S. Army Winter Officer's Service Uniform using the Hot Toys head sculpt that came with the recently released Hot Toys 1/6 scale Avengers Captain America 12-inch figure. You can see more of the head sculpt in my review HERE

The Men's Winter Officer's Service Uniform color shading contrasted to that of the enlisted men. This was for practical identification of officers while in a group of enlisted soldiers. Officer's coats were made from a beautiful high lustrous 19oz wool elastique fabric which was always dyed in a dark shade of OD #51 sometimes referred to as "Chocolate". Trousers were usually made from the same high quality elastique but dyed in a shade of Drab #54 sometimes referred to as "Pink". This contrast between chocolate and pink was also at times referred to by the veterans as "Pinks and Greens".

Preview DAM Toys 1/6 scale MARSOC Special Ops Team - Operator 12-inch military figure

DAM Toys has already given us a sneak peek of their upcoming USMC MARSOC (Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command) Team Leader from a few weeks ago (see my post HERE). Now they have added their new USMC MARSOC Special Operations Regiment Operator to the team as well.

DAM Toys 1/6 scale MARSOC Special Ops Team - Operator 12-inch military action figure will be wearing the same Gen3 woodland camo combat pants, but this time is outfitted with the SOF-PCU Level 5 Jacket (with tan long sleeve shirt underneath). He will be armed with the SOPMOD M4 12" RISII Gl/SSC rifle with M203 Grenade Launcher, and carries a 1911 MEU(SOC) Pistol, holstered on his coyote brown Modular Body Armor Vest (MBAV), which itself is loaded with every pouch and accessory imaginable. Rounding it off is a MICH 2000 Helmet with night vision gear, and two radios (with headset) and you're good to go!

DAM Toys seem to be going into Soldier Story territory now. When DAM Toys first started out, they were in close competition with Art Figures, producing 12-inch figures from the movies that Hot Toys was not touching e.g. both Art Figures and DAM Toys released a Delta Force operator from "Black Hawk Down" but DAM Toys went on to release a total of six 1/6 scale military action figures from the "Black Hawk Down" film and are now in the process of releasing the whole SEAL squad from the "Tears of the Sun" movie (Art Figures only released the Bruce Willis as Lt AK Waters figure). And now this – something that is right up Soldier Story's alley. Scroll down to see the pictures.

Review "Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure" book with light-up lightsaber

There are pop-up books and then there's this stunning mind-blowing Star Wars POP-UP book that truly is out-of-this-world! With over 25 amazing pop-ups, "Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure" by Matthew Reinhart is an extraordinary three-dimensional journey into the Star Wars universe for fans of all ages.

A pop up book is best reviewed by showing it to you rather than putting it into words, because words simply are not enough to describe the amazing, intricate, astounding pop ups that lie hidden in every page. And "Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure" is no exception.

I'm actually letting the cat out of the bag by showing off the last page pop-up which is Darth Vader. What is truly amazing is that when you first open the page, Anakin Skywalker appears with a BLUE LIGHT-UP lightsaber which turns to a RED LIGHT-UP lightsaber as he transforms into Darth Vader. Yes, you heard right :) this pop-up book has a lightsaber that lights up and changes color from blue to red when you open the page - how freaking cool is that! Scroll down to see more pictures and remember to click on the pictures for bigger and better views. ENJOY!

Play Imaginative upcoming Super Alloy Iron Man Mark VII 1/6 collectible figure with Hall of Armor

There's the saying "Strike while the IRON is HOT!" which is to say "When you have an opportunity to do something, do it before you lose your chance."

It seems that many companies are taking it too literally when it comes to IRON Man ;p Everybody wants IN on the piece of the action, a taste of the pie. Due to the success of Marvel Studios "Iron Man" films, Hot Toys was the first to capitalize on them to make HUGE profits from dishing out endless Iron Man 12-inch figures in every variant and color and type. They had collectors eating out of their hands buying everything they sold, sometimes even more than one per type.

Now other companies have joined in the fray. This is Play Imaginative upcoming release: Super Alloy Iron Man Mark VII 1/6 scale collectible figure which will come with Hall of Armor. Pre-order is now open for sale in Singapore only. Well, what do you know? There's something actually coming out from Singapore.

Review III: Hot Toys 1/6 scale Captain America 12-inch Collectible Figure from "The Avengers"

continued from my earlier post...

Gotta tell you, as a Captain America fan, I'm totally loving this Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS 174 1/6 scale Captain America 12-inch Collectible Figure from "The Avengers" movie. I've already posted two earlier reviews of this Hot Toys Avengers Captain America 1/6 figure HERE (box packaging design and contents) and HERE (Cap with his trusty shield) but I just wanted to post more pictures of Cap to share on my toy blog because this Captain America figure ROCKS! And going by the number of page views since I posted the first review on January 22, 2013 of this awesome Hot Toys Avengers Captain America 12-inch action figure (as of time of this posting, over 1,700 hits so far), you guys seem to agree with me :)

Now I'm just posting pictures of Captain America in a dynamic standing pose with his shield (ready to spring into action at any moment) and you can see the various side profiles and turnaround views when you scroll down this toy blog post. You can also see how this latest Hot Toys Avengers Captain America compares with the earlier released Hot Toys First Avenger Captain America 12-inch figure. Scroll down to see the comparison pic :)

For Steve Rogers, all it took to go from a puny, military-rejected weakling to muscle-bound super soldier was a hyperbaric chamber and a couple injections of experimental serum. It wasn't quite so easy for Chris Evans to pull off the feat off-screen. Chris Evans went from his superhero role as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in "Fantastic Four (2005)" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)" to that of Steve Rogers / Captain America in "Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)" and Marvel's "The Avengers (2012)". He will reprise this role in 2014 in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

Preview Hot Toys Iron Man 3 movie 1/4th scale Mark XLII and War Machine Collectible Busts

Iron Man 3 is the upcoming American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It will be the sequel to Iron Man and Iron Man 2, and the seventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being the first major release in that franchise since the crossover film The Avengers. It is scheduled to be released internationally on April 25, 2013 in IMAX and May 3, 2013 in the United States.

Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/4th scale Mark XLII Limited Edition Collectible Bust from one of the most anticipating blockbusters of the year - Iron Man 3 movie. It is specially produced based on the image of the iconic character Mark XLII in the movie, which is presented in fine sculpture, highlighting the light-up functions and metallic colored painting on armor.

Personally I don't have a thing for busts. Why should I settle for less-than-half a man / hero if I can have the whole? I like the complete figure for a full picture so that I can appreciate the figure for what it is and a bust just doesn't have all the details nor the completeness I can get from a 1/6th scale figure. These preview images of Mark XLII (Mark 42! What happened to Mark 8 to Mark 41?) and War Machine (it's a whole new version from the previous one – scroll down to see the pictures) released by Hot Toys at least give us a glimpse of what to expect when they release the 1/6 scale versions of these Iron Man armor suits nearer to the date of the film's release. Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view :)

Sideshow Collectibles inaugural DC Sixth scale figure: The JOKER 12" figure preview pictures

"Stop me if you heard this one, it's a killer."

We interrupt our regular scheduled postings to bring you this killer update on Sideshow Collectibles’ inaugural DC Sixth Scale Figure – the maniacal villain of Gotham City, and Batman’s archenemy, The Joker!

Who would have guessed that Sideshow Collectibles is getting in on the Batman pie as well. Hot Toys have been releasing so many Joker figures I've almost lost count. But while the Joker 12-inch figures Hot Toys have released have been that of the late Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker villain / character in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" (plus the most recent 1/6 scale Jack Nicholson Joker from the 1989 Tim Burton "Batman" film), they have not released any Joker from the comic books yet. There have been teaser images of the Arkham City Joker figure from the video game but no comic book Joker. So I guess Sideshow Collectibles thinks that they have found a niche.

The regular and Exclusive versions of the The Joker Sixth Scale Figure will include the following: Two 1/6 scale Hand Painted Joker head sculpts, Playing Cards, Straight Razor, Dynamite, Lighter, Revolver with ‘BANG!’ Flag, Tailored Fabric costume Includes: Pants, Vest, Shirt, Tuxedo Coat with Tails, Trench Coat, Argyle Socks, and White Spats. Plus Cane with Jester Skull, Multiple Gloved hands including ‘Buzzer Hand’, Display base with ‘The Joker’ Artwork. Scroll down to see more pictures :) Be sure to click on the pictures for a bigger and better view

Review I: Hot Toys The Avengers: 1/6 Captain America 12-inch Limited Edition Collectible Figure

It's finally here :) Hot Toys MMS174 (Movie Masterpiece Series) The Avengers: 1/6th scale Captain America 12-inch Limited Edition Collectible Figure as he appeared in the 2012 movie "The Avengers".

After the 2011 "Captain America: The First Avenger" movie came out, I just couldn't wait to see how Cap would look like in "The Avengers". That's because movie producers and directors love to tweak the look of each comic superhero for the big screen and their costumes / outfits often do not look anything like what they are in the comics which is a nice surprise since the movie version costume will be a new look that is distinctly different from the comic book version. Sometimes they make it look better and sometimes they don't – who can forget the George Clooney Batman with the nipples!

Captain America is a comic book character I grew up with more than the rest of the other Avengers except Iron Man so I really wanted the movie producers and costume designers to get his costume right. Needless to say, I was quite pleased with the new look Captain America designed for "The Avengers" film and was even more thrilled when Hot Toys acquired the movie license to produce a 1/6 scale movie-accurate Captain America 12-inch limited edition figure from the movie. Who else can do it better than them right? And now this recently released Hot Toys Captain America 1/6 figure is in my hands :)

Scroll down to see the pictures of the box and its contents in this first part review.

Incoming: DAM Toys 1/6 scale U.S. Navy SEAL Recon team leader 12-inch figure is Bruce Willis

"Tears of the Sun" is a 2003 American war film depicting a U.S. Navy SEAL team rescue mission amidst a civil war in Nigeria. Bruce Willis plays a Special-Ops commander (LT A.K. Waters) who leads his team into the jungle of Nigeria to rescue a doctor played by Monica Belluci who will only go with them if they agree to rescue 70 refugees too.

Finally! The one a lot of us have been waiting for - DAM Toys 1/6 scale U.S. Navy SEAL Recon team leader 12-inch figure (No. 93009) who is obviously very much inspired by Bruce Willis' character in "Tears of the Sun". As I had mentioned in my previous post, the names of movie characters play a big part in the film they are in. Bruce Willis' character's name is A.K. Waters because he's a United States Navy SEAL operator, SEAL being the acronym for Sea, Air, Land Teams. The acronym is derived from their capacity to operate at sea, in the air, and on land.

DAM Toys 1/6 scale U.S. Navy SEAL Recon team leader 12-inch figure will come with 1/6 scale real-like head sculpt, DAM 12-inch action figure body, black t-shirt, SOF woodland camouflage battle dress uniform (BDU), BDU belt, H-harness, LC2 S belt, Acadia boots, Nomex gloves (black), enhanced butt pack, 1QT canteen and canteen cover x 2, LC2 ammo pouch x 2, double pistol magazine pouch x 2, AN/PRC-148 radio and pouch, LASH I headset, military binoculars, SOPMOD M4 carbine with backup iron sight, COMP M2 red dot sight, AN/PVS-18 NVG with weapon mount, AN/PEQ-5 CVL laser, RIS rail panel, vertical grip, stock pad, 3-point rifle sling, USGI sling adaptor, M4 5.56 mag x 6, Mk23 Mod 0 pistol with suppressor, .45 pistol magazine x 3, pistol holster, M67 fragmentation grenade x 4, SOG X42 combat knife, Kandahar combat knife, PUK combat knife, hanging buckle, G-shock watch

Preview Art Figures AF011 1/6 scale Nave SEAIS team VI 12" Sean Connery figure from The Rock

The Rock is a 1996 action film that primarily takes place on Alcatraz Island and in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was directed by Michael Bay, director of Bad Boys, and stars Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris. It was produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, the producers of Top Gun and Crimson Tide. The film is dedicated to Simpson, who died five months before its release. This was the first film on which Cage and Bruckheimer worked together. Produced at a budget of US$75,000,000, the movie was a smash hit, grossing a total of $134,069,511 domestically and $200,993,110 internationally, for a worldwide total of $335,062,621. Of the year 1996, it was the 7th highest home-grossing film in the U.S., and the 4th highest U.S. film worldwide. [source: wiki]

In the film, Sean Connery is Captain John Patrick Mason, SAS (retired). Funny that Connery's character's name is Mason in a film called "The Rock". Nicolas Cage plays Dr. Stanley Goodspeed, FBI Special Agent. Goodspeed's job is to diffuse the stolen VX gas-armed pockets as fast as possible before the rogue US Force Recon Marines can launch them against the population of San Francisco. I always like how the names of the characters are hints to what they do and how they contribute to the film in some way or another ;p

This is Art Figures AF011 1/6 scale NAVE SEAIS TEAM VI or US Navy SEAL Team VI 12-inch figure most likely inspired by Sean Connery's portrayal of SAS Captain John Patrick Mason in the 1996 film "The Rock". John Mason wasn't really a SEAL team member. He was a former MI6 Agent and SAS Captain who has been illegally detained for decades by the FBI. Again the reference to the former MI6 Agent is all too obvious since Sean Connery was the first to play MI6 Agent 007 James Bond in Dr NO.

Hot Toy teases with 2013 releases: Arkham Joker, The Bat, Bruce Banner, Prometheus etc

Hot Toys released a picture most recently with lots of 1/6 scale movie-related figures in various early prototype stages (none completed yet) to give collectors a glimpse of what is to come in 2013. Since then, there have been quite a few people speculating on the subject matter covered in the picture and what they think they are seeing and hoping Hot Toys will release. The picture below (copyright Riverspoons) is the best interpretation by far and list out quite clearly what they think Hot Toys is trying to show us: Roadblock, Storm Shadow, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Superman Man of Steel, Arkham City Joker etc. Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view.

Since then, more pictures have surfaced and these appear to be rather legit because the images are no longer blurred out and you can make out the details most clearly. These latest pictures are exciting news indeed and will please a collector or two, if not all based on what we are seeing. Scroll down to see what the pictures released are about and if the speculators got them right. All pictures belong to their respective owners and I have merely copied and pasted them here to share with everyone and anyone who is interested :) Enjoy

VTS (Virtual ToyS) 1/6 scale Zombie Killer "Tallahassee" 12-inch action figure - Review II

continued from earlier post...

Zombieland is a 2009 horror / comedy about four survivors of a Zombie Apocalypse who are traveling west, looking for a place free of zombies. Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) are sisters on their way to Pacific Playland, an amusement park which they believe is zombie-free. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) are not so sure.

In the film, survivors usually don't share their real names for fear of getting too attached, so people are known by the city they are from. On the poster, the characters of Wichita and Little Rock are carrying a chainsaw and a shovel, items carried in the film by Tallahassee before he met the girls.

This is what Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) wore in the final battle at Pacific Playland. This 1/6 scale Tallahassee outfit / attire has been faithfully reproduced / replicated in miniature scale by VTS (Virtual ToyS) as part of their 1/6 scale Zombie Killer 12-inch action figure boxed set which I had acquired recently (see my earlier post HERE for the box design and contents). Scroll down to see more pictures of this VTS Zombie Killer figure ;p

Incoming: Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Roman Legionary with marching pack and Aquilifer

Besides the 1/6 scale Roman Centurion Artorius Lucius Castus 12-inch figure Kaustic Plastik will be releasing this year, they are also releasing other 12-inch Roman army figures as well. Kaustic Plastik prides themselves in being historically correct in their production of these Roman era figures so you can be sure these are going to turn out looking nicer than nice.

The Roman legionary was a professional soldier of the Roman army after the Marian reforms. Legionaries had to be Roman citizens under the age of 45. They enlisted in a legion for twenty-five years of service, a change from the early practice of enlisting only for a campaign. The last five years were on veteran lighter duties. [source: wiki]

On the march in unfriendly terrain, the legionary would be loaded down with armour commonly lorica hamata, lorica squamata, and 1st-3rd century lorica segmentata, shield (scutum), helmet (galea), two javelins (one heavy pilum and one light verutum), a short sword (gladius), a dagger (pugio), a pair of heavy sandals (caligae), a sarcina (marching pack), about fourteen days worth of food, a waterskin (bladder for water), cooking equipment, two stakes (sudes murale) for the construction of palisades, and a shovel or wicker basket.

Preview Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Roman Centurion Artorius Lucius Castus 12-inch figure

From Kaustic Plastik comes this 1/6 scale Roman Centurion Artorius Lucius Castus 12-inch figure - Legio II Adiutrix Circa 178-179 A.D. - Marcomannic Wars - Leugaricio - Slovakia. According to Kaustic Plastik: All the new products will have a new deluxe packaging that will guarantee a 100% safeness and will avoid shipping damages! There will be New improved helms technology with easy plug in / plug out face protections! And New improved production technology for longer lasting and resistant products!

Lucius Artorius Castus (mid-late 2nd century AD or early-to-mid 3rd century AD) was a Roman military commander. A member of the gens Artoria (possibly of Messapic or Etruscan origin), he has been suggested as a potential historical basis for King Arthur. What is known of Artorius comes from inscriptions on fragments of a sarcophagus, and a memorial plaque, found in Podstrana, on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. Although the inscriptions cannot be precisely dated, Lucius Artorius Castus probably served in the Roman army sometime between the mid-late 2nd century AD or early-to-mid 3rd century AD. Review 1: VTS (Virtual ToyS) 1/6 scale Zombie Killer 12-inch action figure - Tallahassee

Zombieland is a 2009 American zombie comedy film directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The film stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin as survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Together, they take an extended road trip across Southwestern United States in an attempt to find a sanctuary free from zombies.

The main characters do not use each other's real names, but identify themselves using place names (Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, Little Rock) that relate to them. Woodrow Tracy "Woody" Harrelson (that's his full name ;p) plays zombie killer Tallahassee, who is particularly violent in killing zombies. Tallahassee demonstrates a soft spot for his pet dog, killed by the zombies, as well as an affinity for Twinkies, which he actively tries to find.

This is my first part review of VTS (Virtual ToyS) 1/6 scale Zombie Killer 12-inch action figure which was released recently. Needless to say, you can see that this figure is inspired by the character of zombie killer Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) from the film "Zombieland". Scroll down to see the box packaging and contents (lots of pictures).

Preview ZC World ZCWO X-Series Body (Pale, Tan & Black 1/6 scale Regular Body types)

Hot Toys soon-to-be-released 1/6 scale TrueType Figures - Advanced Muscular, Regular and Slim Bodies (previewed HERE) are just too expensive when compared with all the other available 12-inch action figure bodies in the 1/6 scale market. Not everyone out there can afford the higher price of the True Type body nor would they want to when similar bodies are available at more than half the price Hot Toys is asking.

ZC World has just announced that they will also be reelasing their new X-Series of Male Bodies. There will be three skin tones to choose from - pale, tan, and black. You could say these are the new 12-inch X men figures haha

Each set will include a body (regular proportions - not muscular nor slim), two neck connectors (fits Hot Toys and DID style head sculpts), four pair of hands (gripping, weapon gripping, relaxed, and fisted), and two pair of feet (one piece, two piece with hinge). As these will be priced at approximately US$26.99 a set, you're getting a great figure with a ton of bonus accessories.

ZC World ZCWO 1/6 scale Mens Hommes Vol. 11 - Leather Clothing Set is inspired by House

ZC World latest preview images of their ZCWO 1/6 scale Mens Hommes Vol. 11 - Leather Clothing Set looks to be most likely inspired by the Fox television series House, which ran on the Fox network for eight seasons, from November 16, 2004 to May 21, 2012. At its peak, House was the most watched television program in the world in 2008. [source: wiki]

Is there a DOCTOR in the HOUSE? When ZCWO first released these pictures of their newest Mens Hommes Fashion with the name "leather clothing set", I never expected to see these pictures. I wouldn't have guessed that they would release this set of attire that is similar to the one worn by Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), a drug-addicted, unconventional, misanthropic medical genius who leads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH) in New Jersey.

Incoming MC Toys MCF-018 1/6 scale Man's Fashion Sport Set for the sporty 12-inch figure

Here's a preview of MC Toys MCF-018 1/6 scale Man's Fashion Sport Set for the sporty 12-inch action figure that still wants to look good while working out, or be casual :) He's rather brand conscious too going by the three stripes displayed rather prominently on everything he wears.

The MC Toys MCF-018 1/6 scale Man's Fashion Sport Set will comprise a blue outer coat / windbreaker, a white Sports Tee, light grey jeans / pants, white belt and shoes. The brand name is Adidos, not to be confused with the more popular Adidas.

This is certainly a nice addition for those who are interested to kitbash 12-inch figures that look casual rather than be in a black suit and tie all the time. The 1/6 market has certainly grown a lot since with so many variations of 1/6 scale clothing, body types and heads that it'll make your head spin just trying to keep track of who is doing what and when. There will be 2 different size for options which is suitable for the normal figure body and muscle figure body. If only the set came with the bike haha

The vest has three different designs on the back and will be tailor-made for the normal body or the muscle body type. Looks cool but will be useless without a 1/6 scale Harley Davidson motorbike to ride on.

Incoming Kumik 1/6 scale SALT, Taken 2, Se7en, Skyfall & Dexter 12" figures a big letdown

At first I thought "wow, so many interesting movie characters in 1/6 scale being made available". Then I saw the pictures and felt rather disappointed. I was hoping for more companies to put up equally stunning head sculpts to show Hot Toys that others can do it too and they shouldn't be charging such high prices for their products but apparently, not in this case.

These are preview pictures of Kumik's 1/6 scale SALT, Taken 2, Se7en, Skyfall & Dexter 12-inch figures and at first glance, they don't really look very good at all. Frankly I've never seen a 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie female figure look this bad before.

Salt is a 2010 American action thriller spy film directed by Phillip Noyce, written by Kurt Wimmer, and starring Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Daniel Olbrychski, August Diehl and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Jolie plays Evelyn Salt who is accused of being a Russian sleeper agent and goes on the run to try to clear her name. This to me is a failed attempt by Kumik to release a 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt 12-inch female action figure :( Scroll down to see the others

Preview DAM Toys 1/6 scale US Navy SEAL Recon team SAW Gunner 12" military figure

Tears of the Sun (TOTS) is a 2003 American war film depicting a U.S. Navy SEAL team rescue mission amidst a civil war in Nigeria. LT A.K. Waters (Bruce Willis) commands the team sent to rescue U.S. citizen Dr. Lena Fiore Kendricks (Monica Bellucci) from the civil war en route to her jungle hospital. The film was directed by Antoine Fuqua.

The actors who portrayed SEALs underwent a two-week boot camp; during principal photography, they had to address and refer to each other by character name — even off camera, to improve interaction. Nick Chinlund starred as OS1 Michael "Slo" Slowenski: Automatic Rifleman (SAW).

DAM Toys continues with their 1/6 scale Tears of the Sun (TOTS) 12-inch figure series with this latest preview of their next figure in the series: a 1/6 scale US Navy SEAL Recon team SAW Gunner 12-inch military action figure who bears a strong resemblance to Nick Chinlund (OS1 Michael "Slo" Slowenski).

They certainly make a fun threesome haha :)

Incoming: Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars 1/6 scale Yoda Jedi Master from the Clone Wars

Sideshow Collectibles proudly presents the Yoda: Jedi Master Sixth Scale Figure. Inspired by his appearance in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the wise and powerful Jedi is crafted in 1:6 scale. This highly detailed figure captures Yoda's familiar expressions with interchangeable head sculpts, and includes Jedi Council and Hover chair accessories to recreate memorable scenes from the Jedi High Council and Jedi Temple.

Yoda has appeared in the second and third original films, as well as all three prequel trilogy films. Yoda served as the Grand Master of the Jedi Order for hundreds of years until the fall of the Republic. In spite of his small stature (two feet two inches, or 0.66 meters), he was the most powerful Jedi Master in galactic history.

Pre-order Marvel Bishoujo 1/7 Kitty Pryde Statue

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The Marvel Comics Bishoujo Statue line (capturing superheroines and villains in the Japanese “pretty girl” style) continues with a fan-favorite X-Men member whom fans have watched grow up over the years: KITTY PRYDE!

Just a girl when she was approached by the mutant heroes in 1980’s Uncanny X-Men #129, Kitty displayed the unique power to make herself entirely intangible, along with anything else she wears, carries, or touches. Alternatively using the codenames Sprite and Shadowcat she would become a veteran member of the X-Men and today teaches young mutants in the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Kitty now joins the ranks of other X-Women in the Marvel Comics Bishoujo Statue line based on a new illustration by Shunya Yamashita.

Kitty has never looked cuter than she does now, caught in a playful jaunt with her best friend. The young mutant is carefree as she frolics, one foot touching the ground and the other raised beneath her. Kitty turns at the waist to look at you, one hand held up by her face and the other outstretched to provide a perch for the diminutive dragon Lockheed.

Pre-order OE (Original Effect) Army Attractive 1/6 蓮池砂雪 Hasuike Sunayuki 12" female figure

Original Effect is on a roll with their new line of 12-inch female figures based entirely on their own origins and designs.

A little backstory:
The Naxi has created "Army Attractive" Viola - The bio tech warrior (check out my earlier post HERE for preview pictures). AA Tech has reached the highest point of world technology. Many countries has tried to copy it from them and they have met with some success. They copied using the genetic code from the dead bodies. Hasuike Sunayuki is one of the successfully created AA warrior from Japan.

Sanayuki has the same ability and skill like Viola. She is the best Japanese spy there is. According to AA comic volume 1, Sunayuki has been hiding in the shadows and investigating all of Viola's action. In the near future, Sunayuki will come out with her own comic. Stay tune for it.

Part 2 of 2: Kitbash 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Snake Eyes Ninja Master 12-inch action figure

continued from previous post...

More pictures of my attempt at bashing a 1/6 scale Snake Eyes 12-inch action figure from the G.I. Joe team, this time Snake Eyes has sheathed his sword / ninjato and opted to use his sub-machine gun instead, for those enemies that are beyond the reach of his edged weapon.

The year ended with a bang on Hot Toys announcement with preview pictures of their upcoming movie merchandise series "G.I. Joe Retaliation" 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure (see the preview pictures HERE). That will be an awesome figure and I can't wait for it to come out. In the meantime, I had kitbashed this Snake Eyes 12-inch action figure after coming across a loose 1/6 scale Snake Eyes head. This version is based on the comics and not the movie ;p

Why do we do it? Because just like me, there are many 12-inch figure collectors who didn't like or care for the two versions of Snake Eyes put out by Sideshow Collectibles. So we all decided to bash our own instead. Scroll down to see more pictures.

Check out my kitbash 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Snake Eyes 12" figure (Part 1 of 2 - Poor man's version)

This is my attempt at kitbashing a 1/6 scale Snake Eyes 12-inch action figure from the G.I. Joe team, otherwise known as the poor man's version of Snake Eyes ;p I already had this figure bashed up just before Hot Toys announcement of their upcoming G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure (see the preview pictures HERE). Hot Toys version is based on the upcoming 2013 G.I. Joe film, which is a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Snake Eyes is portrayed by Ray Park in the 2009 live-action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, who will reprise his role in the upcoming 2013 sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Before Hot Toys announcement of their SNAKE EYES 12-inch figure, Sideshow Collectibles had released two versions of 1/6 scale Snake Eyes based on the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line. The first version released by Sideshow was way too expensive for my liking and certainly NOT value-for-money IMHO (check out the previews HERE). It caused me to skip the entire 12-inch G.I. Joe line altogether even though I am a big fan. The second version wasn't any better :( - check out the preview pictures HERE. You would have thought that Sideshow had learned their lesson the second time around based on feedback from collectors.

So when I came across a loose 1/6 scale Snake Eyes head sculpt (who else is this supposed to be?), I just had to get it and try my hand at kitbashing my own 12-inch version of Snake Eyes from the G.I. Joe team. Scroll down to see this poor man's version of Snake Eyes :) It's certainly NOT the movie version so I can base it loosely on the comics version which has many interpretations ;p
