Terminator: Dark Fate is a 2019 American science fiction action film. It is the sixth installment in the Terminator franchise, and acts as a direct sequel to The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), while retconning other related works such as Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), Terminator Salvation (2009), Terminator Genisys (2015), and the television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008–2009) from the canon, following the return of creative control to Cameron.

From the Terminator: Dark Fate film, the Fully-articulated T-800 collectible figure stands in 1/12 scale and is dressed in real fabric clothing. Standing 7 inches (17.78cm) tall, the T-800 figure features a realistic likeness of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and is built on a custom designed action figure body with an incredible level of detail.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an actor who has also been a professional bodybuilder and politician (the Governator). Schwarzenegger began his acting career primarily with small roles in film and television. For his first film role, he was credited as "Arnold Strong", but was credited with his birth name thereafter. Schwarzenegger has acted in over thirty films, mainly in science fiction, action, and comedy films.

Schwarzenegger has been the primary character in two film franchises: as Conan in the Conan series and as The Terminator in the Terminator series. Other roles include John Matrix in Commando, Ben Richards in The Running Man, Major Alan "Dutch" Schrieffer in Predator, Douglas Quaid in Total Recall, Jack Slater in Last Action Hero and Harry Tasker in True Lies.

With the release of the most recent 1/6th scale Arnold Schwarzenegger 12-inch figure by Hot Toys - you can check out my action figure review of Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale John Matrix Collectible Figure posted on my toy blog HERE and HERE - I thought I'll put some of the Arnold Schwarzenegger figures I have together for a group picture, just like what I've done previously for Batman (post HERE) and Indiana Jones (pictures HERE), among others.

The three figures you see in the picture above are Hot Toys released Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 Terminator figures from the Terminator series. There were other Arnold Schwarzenegger action figures released as well and you can see them all in this post.

The Assault on Arius' Massion!

Having covered the box packaging and contents as well as posting pictures of topless Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Matrix from Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale "Commando" John Matrix Collectible Figure boxed set in my first part action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE, let's see how the 12-inch figure (this Arnold is 32cm in height, taller than your average "Joe") looks with everything loaded on him, and I do mean EVERYTHING. This Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix from the 1985 "Commando" film comes with a lot of weapons and accessories, lots more than many of the figures Hot Toys has released.

The picture above shows Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) 12-inch figure taking aim as he prepares to fire the 1/6th scale M202A1 FLASH (FLame Assault SHoulder Weapon), an American rocket launcher designed to replace the World War II vintage flamethrowers (such as the M1 and the M2) that remained the military's standard incendiary devices well into the 1960s. The M202 is based on the prototype XM191 napalm rocket launcher that saw extensive testing in the Vietnam War. Be sure to check out all the other weapons this figure comes with.

Somewhere... somehow... someone's going to pay

Commando is a 1985 American action thriller film about a retired elite Black Ops operator (Green Beret) who launches a one man war against a group of South American criminals who have kidnapped his daughter to blackmail him into starting a revolution and getting an exiled dictator back into power. The film was released in the United States on October 4, 1985. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the film which makes this 12-inch action figure review on my toy blog rather appropriate.

The original concept was for an Israeli special forces Mossad agent who, sick of the continual death and destruction in the Middle East, emigrates from Israel to the United States, where he is forced out of his self-imposed retirement after his daughter is kidnapped. This was modified and further adapted when Schwarzenegger was cast; some of the original dialogue can be heard in the deleted scenes when Matrix says he regrets his past actions.

Review Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: 1/6th The Fantasy Warrior costume set for 12" figures

This is the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures combined with the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body as the set does not come with a body. This is so that you can have the option to use other muscular bodies of other brands but I think this works best with the KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body as the KP02XXL was designed for this set.

Conan the Barbarian is a 1982 sword and sorcery / adventure film directed and co-written by John Milius. It is based on stories by Robert E. Howard, a pulp fiction writer of the 1930s, about the adventures of the eponymous character in a fictional pre-historic world of dark magic and savagery. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones, and tells the story of a young barbarian (Schwarzenegger) who seeks vengeance for the death of his parents at the hands of Thulsa Doom (Jones), the leader of a snake cult.

The Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures is most likely inspired by the Conan character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Conan the Barbarian". The outfit Arnold wears in the sequel is quite faithfully replicated here in 1/6 scale and I'm very glad for the chance and opportunity to own this figure. Finally I have a Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan figure to put next to the Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator figures and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dutch figure plus the soon-to-be-released Arnold Schwarzenegger John Matrix from "Commando" figure (posted earlier HERE).

Review: Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body

This is the recently released Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body which I received via Fedex (see my recent post HERE of my November haul). The Heroik Muscle Body does not come with a 1/6 scale head sculpt (or sword) but in order to show off the body, I wanted to pose the figure with a head and a sword strategically placed so I used the 1/6 scale head sculpt and sword which came with the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1 (1/6 scale The Fantasy Warrior fabric costume and accessories for 12-inch figures) which also arrived at the same time as the Heroik Muscle Body.

This newer Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body is more muscular looking than the previously released Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version (reviewed on my toy blog HERE and HERE) and the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version (also reviewed HERE). The body seems to be designed with one particular body builder / actor in mind, someone who had that kind of physique in his prime. You probably can guess who that is ;p

Retired Delta Force Operative Colonel John Matrix is informed by his former superior Major General Franklin Kirby that all the other members of his unit have been killed by unknown mercenaries. The mercenaries, among them Bennett, an ex-member of Matrix's team fired for overt brutality in service, attack Matrix’s secluded mountain home and kidnap Matrix’s young daughter Jenny. John Matrix decides to go after the kidnappers himself and rescue his own daughter.

Review of Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale XXL Project Set 1 - The Fantasy Warrior head and outfit set

I've known Ted Menten for many years now and he has become a great friend from afar all thanks to the internet - it certainly has made the world a much smaller place. We exchange banter regularly, almost on a daily basis. Ted has lots of interesting stories to share and I just enjoy reading about his early days experience with toys and such. He's such a humble guy you wouldn't believe that he worked with Don Levine (father of G.I. Joe) back in the day and he helped develop the 12-inch action figure for boys (you can't sell dolls to boys because only girls play with dolls). Without G.I Joe, there wouldn't be a market for 12-inch figures today, let alone all the collectibles related to 1/6 scale figures.

Preview Hot Toys DX10: Terminator 2: Judgment 1/6 Day: DX T-800 12-inch Collectible Figure

I was totally caught off guard by this! Hot Toys will be releasing yet another T-800 collectible figure from their Terminator movie franchise and this time, the T-800 will be a DX figure. The major difference between the DX (DeluXe) figure and the regular MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) lies in the eyes - the DX has the Hot Toys P.E.R.S (Parallel Eyeball Rolling System) which is a gimmick for making the eyes move and roll around. The FIRST DX figure (DX01) was the Joker from "The Dark Knight" (check out the pictures HERE). Just when you think Hot Toys has exhausted all avenues and can't milk the cash cow any more, they come up with something creative and throw us this figure!

Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/6th scale T-800 collectible figure from the "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" movie from the DX Series. The advanced T-800 collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head sculpt with the most updated sculpting technique and with Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS), detachable scalp and cyberdyne chip in the head, advanced muscular body, authentic leather jacket and pants, detailed weapons and accessories.

When Hot Toys released their MMS T2 T-800 12-inch figure (FULL review HERE), most collectors were keen to value-add by adding items that would make the figure more complete, myself included. So I added the COO Model 1/6 scale M79 grenade launcher (pictures HERE) and 7.62mm GE M134 minigun to the original figure to boost it up and I was pretty pleased with the result (see ALL pictures HERE). So this announcement is a bit of a let down for me as there really isn't a lot going for it. This particular picture is my attempt at re-creating the iconic 1984 Terminator sci-fi movie poster image of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from the year 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose yet-unborn son John Connor will become the leader of the resistance movement against Skynet and its army of machines in the future.

To get this shot, I had to use the latest alternate T-800 head (see my earlier post HERE) from Hot Toys MMS136 1/6th scale T-800 12-inch Collectible Figure from "The Terminator" movie and attach it to the very first HT MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) figure released, MMS001 Battle Damaged T-800 with light-up eyes from 2005.

Just wanted to share some pictures of some of the 1/6 scale figures from the Hot Toys Predator line (NOT all of them because striving to have ALL of everything in life would be too stressful and not much FUN, and FUN is what it's all about :> so these are just the ones that keep me happy)

There's (from left to right) Private Billy Sole, Predator 1 (numero uno), Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer, Scar Predator and Royce. I'm not a "completist" collector, preferring to collect only what I like and not ALL from the same line just to be complete so these to me are what makes Predator special.

1/6 T2 T-800 with M79

For those who are not in the know, the title of this blog post entry itself seems like a message written in code that needs to be decoded. "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" or "T2" is the 1991 sequel to "The Terminator", the 1984 science fiction action film helped launch the film careers of James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In "T2", the Terminator Model T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) takes an M79 grenade launcher from Sarah Connor's arsenal in the Mojave desert after they (a young John Connor and the T-800) had rescued her. Well, the teaser pictures are OUT! The next 1/6 scale figure in Hot Toys "Terminator" series will be the original Terminator from the 1984 film. "The Terminator" topped the American box office for two weeks and helped launch the film careers of James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So now Hot Toys is finally doing justice by releasing the FIRST Terminator, after having released a slew of terminators and almost all the key characters / players from "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Terminator Salvation".
