Haul for December 2017: Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket and Arkham Knight Batman

Ending the year with a BANG!

This is my latest and probably last haul of 2017 after my Christmas haul which was posted earlier HERE. This time round, I got the Hot Toys MMS411 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 1/6th scale Rocket Collectible Figure (Deluxe Version) and Hot Toys VGM26 Batman: Arkham Knight 1/6th scale Batman Collectible Figure. I almost said, a BAT and a RAT but raccoons do not belong to the rodent family.

IMHO I always find that Hot Toys usually does a better job of sculpts the second time around. It's like they need the first one as a trial / practice before getting it right the second time. That's why I didn't get the Hot Toys Avengers figures until Age of Ultron. By then, Hot Toys was very good at capturing the likenesses of the actors who portray the heroes in the film. I think the 1/6th scale Chris Hemsworth as Thor head sculpt for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is one of the best by far (see the pics and full action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE and HERE). Hot Toys "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Hawkeye Collectible Figure also has a great sculpt of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye (pics HERE and HERE) compared to the Avengers version. That said, I'm putting my money on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 figures by Hot Toys because I think they'll look much better than the first versions which is why I got Rocket. You don't really need a good sculpt of Rocket (he's a raccoon) but he is part of the group and I've already pre-ordered Star-Lord and Yondu while waiting for Gamora and Drax.

As for Batman, he is the dark knight and one of the reasons why I got into collecting action figures. He's the new addition to the ever growing Batman collection. Check out the various 1/6th scale Batman figures I have posted HERE with comparison pictures as well as group pictures.

Haul for Christmas 2017: Scarlett Johansson as Major, Netflix Daredevil and The Last Jedi book

Here's wishing everyone who's reading this a very Merry Christmas and glad tidings of great joy :)

Here's my haul for December 2017, just in time for the Christmas holidays. They include Cat Toys CT-006 1/6th scale Female Character set (essentially Scarlett Johansson as Major Mira Killian / Motoko Kusanagi from the 2017 American science fiction action film Ghost in the Shell based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow), Hot Toys Television Masterpiece Series TMS003 Netflix Marvel's Daredevil portrayed by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi visual dictionary by DK (Dorling Kindersley) Publishing.

In 2017, we finally got to see a live action film of Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell manga which was first serialized in 1989 and then animated in 1995. The film had its many critics but for me to be able to see the Major and Section 9 being acted out on the big screen is a dream come true. It was certainly a visual treat and the special effects were not a disappointment. Netflix Marvel's Daredevil web television series was highly successful and led the way for more Marvel superhero characters to debut on television. Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil plays a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. All episodes of the first season were released on Netflix on April 10, 2015, while the second season was released in its entirety on March 18, 2016. They were met with positive reviews. In July 2016, the series was renewed for a third season; filming for the season began in November 2017, and it is intended to release in 2018.

Gate Toys X Winson Classic Creation 1:6 scale Time Wars Yuan Kong 12-inch collectible figure

Order Gate Toys X Winson Classic Creation 1:6 scale Time Wars Yuan Kong 12-inch collectible figure (ONLY 30 pcs available worldwide) at GATETOYSGLOBAL.com while stocks last!

Look what the postman brought me! This is a thing of beauty and is made with great craftsmanship. The figure combines fur (real hair) with fabric and plastic and it all comes together very nicely. No worries about the hair falling off as I've been toying with it and putting it in numerous poses for pictures and everything is still intact and no hair has fallen off. It also comes with a diorama set that is another piece of art by itself. I'll be covering that in a later post. Meanwhile, check out this very nicely done and well executed 1:6 scale Time Wars Yuan Kong 12-inch collectible figure.

From the imagination of acclaimed Hong Kong artist Winson Ma comes his latest story "War in the West: Time Wars" Part One: YUAN KONG. Made in collaboration with GATE TOYS, this is a sci-fi take on a traditional Chinese lore “Journey To The West”, with the Monkey God / “Sun Wu Kong” here reimagined as an armoured warrior with blaster in one hand, and wielding his sword of flame in another! And not forgetting his Battle Staff! Unmasked, Yuan Kong is ready for WAR!

Gate Toys X Winson Classic Creation 1:6 scale Time Wars Yuan Kong 12-inch collectible figure (ONLY 30 pcs available worldwide) specially features: original design, highly detailed 1:6 scale head sculpt with 3D stylized real hair | fully articulated action figure body | 6 different styles of replacement hand (3 x Time Traveler gloved hands, 3 x ape hands)

November 2017 Haul: Hot Toys Rogue One Jyn Erso, Ellen Ripley from ALIEN and the Punisher

I enjoyed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Being a stand-alone film, it wasn't intended to cross over with the films of the sequel trilogy and that suited me just fine as long as there are more Star Wars stories to be told since these spinoff movies exist within the vast Star Wars universe. In Rogue One, Felicity Jones stars as Jyn Erso, a young renegade woman who is detained for her crimes against the Empire until she is freed by the Rebel Alliance. Once again, we have a female lead, just like Daisy Ridley as Rey in The Force Awakens. So I couldn't not get Hot Toys MMS405 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Jyn Erso Collectible Figure.

Another must-have for me is the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS366 ALIEN 1/6th scale Ellen Ripley Collectible Figure. Sigourney Weaver as Warrant Officer/Lieutenant Ellen Ripley in the 1979 science-fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott was outstanding in her performance, also her first lead role in a film. Not many women played action heroes in Hollywood before that.

The Marvel's Daredevil TV series created for Netflix received very good reviews with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. Jon Bernthal joined the cast for season two, portraying Frank Castle / Punisher: A vigilante who aims to clean up Hell's Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results. He was so good a spin-off series was ordered by Netflix in April 2016. And I'm so glad Hot Toys got the license for the series and released the TMS004 Marvel's Daredevil 1/6th scale Punisher 12-inch Collectible Figure.

What can I say? I'm one very happy collector. When I started collecting 12-inch figures way back in 1994, never would I have dreamt that 1/6th scale figures would cover such a wide variety of subjects and be as realistic and detailed as they are today. For that I am most thankful.

First up for show and tell is the Hot Toys MMS405 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Jyn Erso Collectible Figure (Deluxe Version). Preview pics can be seen on my toy blog post HERE

October Haul: 2000 AD x ThreeA 1/6th scale Judge Dredd & Marvel Legends Captain Britain

It's a British invasion! I got the 2000 AD x ThreeA 1/6th scale Judge Dredd 12-inch Collectible Figure and Hasbro 2016 released Marvel Legends Captain Britain action figure. One was a rather long wait and the other was just an impulse buy for the fun of it :)

2000 AD is a weekly British science fiction-orientated comic magazine. As a comics anthology it serialises stories in each issue and was first published by IPC Magazines in 1977, the first issue dated 26 February. 2000 AD is most noted for its Judge Dredd stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Brian Bolland and Mike McMahon.

In the dystopian post-apocalyptic future of the 22nd century, crime runs rampant in Mega-City One. Here the people are policed by the Judges, elite cops prepared to do whatever it takes to keep the peace, even if it means sentencing criminals to death on the spot. And the most feared of all the Judges is Judge Dredd.

2000 AD x ThreeA 1/6th Scale JUDGE DREDD Collectible Figure Stands 12.3-Inches (31.2 cm) tall and Features 29 Points of Articulation. Judge Dredd includes: 2x Interchangeable Faces - Standard Scowl and Gritted Teeth Expressions, 4 Sets of interchangeable hands, 1x Lawgiver Mk1 features removable ammo magazine, 1x Lawgiver Mk2 features removable ammo magazine, 1x Lawrod features removable ammo magazine and shoulder stock, 1x Daystick.

September 2017 haul: Hot Toys Doctor Strange, Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton and Agent Salt

This is my second haul for September 2017, having collected the Hot Toys MMS359 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1:6th scale Wonder Woman movie-accurate collectible earlier - see the action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE.

This time, I've got the Hot Toys MMS387 1/6th scale Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange 12-inch collectible figure (previewed one year ago HERE), Hot Toys MMS352 Terminator Genisys 1/6th scale Endoskeleton 33 cm tall Collectible Figure which was previewed even further back in February 2016 HERE, and Supermad Toys 1:6 scale Agent Salt (Angelina Jolie) 12-inch action figure (preview pics HERE)

Most times pre-orders take a while to be released and we really lose track of when they'll come so it's a nice surprise when they finally do arrive. Better late than never, as the saying goes. I enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Doctor Strange and am glad to be able to own a 12-inch Cumberpatch figure as I'm a fan of his work - Sherlock Holmes, The Imitation Game, Star Trek Into Darkness etc. And it seems Hot Toys like him too because this figure comes with quite a bit of accessories, compared to Hot Toys MMS363 Captain America: Civil War 1/6th scale Black Panther Collectible Figure which had ZERO accessories (see my review HERE). Owning 1/6th scale figures is like having a mini Hollywood in your home, with all the famous stars / actors lining your shelves.

Hot Toys Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1/6th Wonder Woman Collectible Figure Review

It's finally here!

This is my most recent haul in a long while and it's Hot Toys MMS359 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1:6th scale Wonder Woman Collectible Figure. The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film came out in 2016 and I already got both Hot Toys Batman and Superman 12-inch figures in November 2016 (see my toy blog post HERE) but it has taken quite a while for this 1/6th scale Gal Gadot Wonder Woman to surface. I expected this Hot Toys Wonder Woman to come out in May or June this year when the Wonder Woman film began screening on the big screen as the hype would be good for Hot Toys but that didn't happen. Well, better late than never, right?

This Hot Toys MMS359 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1:6th scale Wonder Woman movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the film featuring a newly developed head sculpt with long curly dark brown fabric hair. My first reaction was: why did Hot Toys give her buck teeth? Yes, she comes with teeth that shows through her slightly open mouth. The prototype / preview pictures of this figure didn't have teeth (check out the preview pics HERE) but this final produced figure has. Maybe Hot Toys feel that the teeth makes the figure look more like the actress but I'm not sure if that's good as she looks a little bit like Bugs Bunny.

Kumik 1/6th scale Chloë Grace Moretz head sculpt Review - not a bad sculpt at all :)

Chloë Grace Moretz is an American actress and model. She began her acting career in 2004 at age seven, and received her first award nomination the following year for The Amityville Horror. Her other film credits include (500) Days of Summer, The Poker House, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2, Let Me In, Hugo, Dark Shadows, Carrie, If I Stay, The Equalizer, and The 5th Wave. Moretz provided the voice of Hit-Girl for Kick-Ass: The Game and Emily Kaldwin in Dishonored.

Chloë Grace Moretz really stood out for me in the 2010 British-American superhero black comedy film Kick-Ass. As 11-year-old Mindy Macready, she fights crime as the ruthless vigilante Hit-Girl alongside her father Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), a former cop who intends to bring down the crime boss Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong) and his son (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) (Red Mist).

This is the Kumik 1/6th scale Chloë Grace Moretz head sculpt with rooted hair which I got recently. I don't have an appropriate body type for this head so I chose the Brother Production Zombie Killer "Alice" 12-inch figure body for this photo shoot. I had reviewed this Brother Production 1/6th scale Zombie Killer "Alice" figure some time back - see the action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE. I also have pictures of the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS139 "Resident Evil: Afterlife" 1/6 scale Alice head sculpt on this body as well - see the pics HERE.

Blackbox Toys 1/6th scale Daniel Craig as 007 James Bond in Spectre 12-inch figure Review 1

Spectre is the 24th instalment in the James Bond film series and the twenty-sixth overall. It is Daniel Craig's fourth performance as James Bond, and Christoph Waltz's first as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, with the film marking the character's re-introduction into the series. The story sees Bond pitted against the global criminal organisation SPECTRE and against their leader; Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is revealed to be Bond's adoptive brother as he attempts to thwart his plan to launch a global surveillance network, and discovers Spectre and Blofeld were behind the events of the previous three films.

This is my second June 2017 haul after the DID 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch figure (posted earlier on my toy blog HERE). There have been quite a number of 1/6th scale Daniel Craig as 007 James Bond 12-inch figures released over the years - check out my action figure reviews posted HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE - but I haven't seen one in a Ivory tuxedo as worn by Daniel Craig in the 2015 James Bond film Spectre. Plus Blackbox Toys 1/6th scale Daniel Craig as James Bond head sculpt is the best likeness and closest to the actor so far.

First haul in June: DID 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch figure aka Keanu Reeves

This is my first haul for June 2017: DID MA1003 1/6th scale '90s LAPD SWAT “Kenny” 12-inch action figure which is essentially Keanu Reeves as Los Angeles police officer Jack Traven in the 1994 American action thriller film "Speed". Los Angeles police officer Jack (Keanu Reeves) angers retired bomb squad member Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper) by foiling his attempt at taking hostages. In revenge, Payne arms a bus with a bomb that will explode if it drops below 50 miles per hour. With the help of spunky passenger Annie (Sandra Bullock), Jack and his partner Harry (Jeff Daniels) try to save the people on the bus before the bomb goes off, while also trying to figure out how Payne is monitoring them.

I first saw this figure previewed at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2016 - check out the post on my toy blog HERE. DID released the official prototype pictures in March 2017 (see the pics HERE) and although this figure is really late arriving at the scene (the film was released 23 years ago), I think it's still worth the wait. I am more interested in the figure wearing plain clothes with EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) vest than the LAPD SWAT figure since many SWAT figures have been released already and I myself have quite a number of them in my collection. Check out my post on 1/6th scale S.W.A.T. 12-inch Action Figures HERE.

Hot Toys Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe Figure Review

May the Fourth be with you :) Happy Star Wars Day!

"I'm one with the Force; the Force is with me." Chirrut Îmwe

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, or simply Rogue One, is the first installment of the Star Wars Anthology series, set immediately before the events of the original Star Wars film. The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Rogue One follows a group of rebels on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, the Galactic Empire's superweapon. Donnie Yen stars as Chirrut Îmwe, a Zatoichi-esque blind warrior who believes in the Force. He is said to be one of the Guardians of the Whills.

This is my latest haul and the first of May 2017. Hot Toys must have an affinity for Donnie Yen because they were rather fast in producing and releasing this Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Chirrut Îmwe 12-inch Figure. It is no surprise since Hot Toys founder Howard Chan is also from Hong Kong and Donnie Yen is one of the biggest stars in Hong Kong. I'm also quite pleased to finally land a Donnie Yen 12-inch figure. Enterbay had the rights to the 1/6th scale Donnie Yen as Ip Man figure but I certainly wasn't going to get anything from them so this is my first mini Donnie Yen. While Ip Man didn't have many accessories, Chirrut Îmwe certainly is more equipped and his outfit / costume is more interesting.

April 2017 Haul #2: Hot Toys 1/6th scale Black Panther, Shoretrooper and Bandai Yoda model kit

This is my second haul this month (check out my earlier haul HERE) and I got the Hot Toys MMS363 Captain America: Civil War 1/6th scale Black Panther Collectible Figure, along with Hot Toys MMS389 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 1/6th scale Shoretrooper Collectible Figure plus the Bandai Star Wars 1/6th scale Yoda model kit. Black Panther took a while to arrive but I was caught off guard by the Shoretrooper. Bandai Yoda was just the icing on the cake, unplanned but certainly interesting. More on that later.

In the 2016 superhero film Captain America: Civil War which was a little like the continuation from the Avengers: Age of Ultron because almost everybody who was in the film was in this one as well, we were introduced to a new Marvel character, the Black Panther. I think it was great casting Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther, the prince of the African nation of Wakanda allied with Stark. I've known the character since his comic book days and it was exciting to see the character being realized on the big screen.

April 2017 Haul: S.I.C. Masked Rider X and Appologeist plus S.H. Figuarts Bruce Lee figures

What happens when the figures you have pre-ordered have not arrived and you have to satisfy the toy bug that is itching inside you? I end up getting stuff I didn't pre-order but bought on impulse because I liked what I saw and these are my April 2017 haul so far, pending the arrival of Black Panther: The S.I.C. or Super Imaginative Chogokin Masked Rider X and Appologeist plus the SH Figuarts Bruce Lee (Yellow Track Suit version).

I can blame the method of pre-ordering for these impulse buys but I'm not sorry that I bought them so no complaints here. Because 1/6th scale manufacturers believe that pre-orders are the best way to go for selling collectible figures, collectors like us end up waiting months (sometimes up to a year) to get the figures we want, figures which we first saw as prototypes in pictures released by the companies to solicit our pre-orders. Some of these prototypes might not even see the light of day if the response to the preview pics are lukewarm or worse. Case in point: Hot Toys 1/6th scale Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones (played by Frank Grillo in Captain America: Civil War) 12-inch figure. Since the preview pics at many of the toy shows, it has failed to show up for pre-orders or any of Hot Toys catalogues. Toys, unlike limited edition adult collectibles, are mass produced and sold at major stores worldwide. There is no need to pre-order because chances are, you can probably get your hands on them easily. Some adult collectibles and figures that become highly demanded after they are released might not be so readily available because the supply was dependant on pre-orders which can mean limited supply. That's when the secondary market gets exciting as prices for them keep going up and up as their demand heats up.

March 2017 Haul: VTS New Epoch Cop (I am the Law) & Batman Batarang 1:1 Scale Prop Replica

February was awfully quiet, as in zero hauls registered, but March is picking up again. Besides the IHNS Toys SO-00001 1/6th scale The Cave scene platform which I have reviewed earlier on my toy blog HERE, I also picked up the Quantum Mechanix QM x Caliber Metalworks Batman Batarang 1:1 Scale Prop Replica and VTS VM-013 New Epoch Cop.

VTS VM-013 New Epoch Cop certainly took its time to arrive, as did the VTS Toys 1/6th scale Wasteland Ranger 12-inch figure, both of which were previewed in November 2015. There was such a long delay that many collectors thought the figure was discontinued or cancelled as no details were given for the figure's absence from stores. That's the problem with pre-orders. Manufacturers like Hot Toys release pictures of their prototypes to solicit orders from interested buyers and although a date may be given for the figure's expected release, sometimes the release date is delayed and buyers are left wanting. Gone are the days of impulse buying where you see what you like and buy instantly. These days, if you don't pre-order the product beforehand, you might be left high and dry when the product is released, especially if the demand way exceed the supply. Manufacturers keep releasing prototype pictures and continue to take in orders but may not be as consistent in producing and releasing the figures on time which leads to a lot of frustrations on the part of collectors who are eager to get their hands on their figures. Was the wait worth it? Certainly :)

REVIEW of IHNS TOYS SO-00001 1/6th scale The Cave scene platform - It's quite awesome!

This is the recently released IHNS Toys SO-00001 1/6th scale The Cave scene platform. I don't usually get diorama sets as I prefer to keep all the space I have for collectible figures but found myself drawn to this set from the preview pictures posted (see the toy blog post HERE) and couldn't resist not getting it. This 1/6th scale Cave scene platform is designed for you to shoot photos with your figure in it to add a level of realism to the picture by adding texture and background. It comes with extra accessories so that you can customise the scene and create more options when you are shooting.

I've posted pictures of other diorama sets before. Some of them are quite large (like the Red Diorama "I shot the bus driver" scene posted HERE) while others are smaller (Red Diorama "Throne" scene - pics HERE and Red Diorama "Gateway Light Up Base" scene posted HERE). I like how this IHNS Toys SO-00001 1/6th scale The Cave scene platform can fit nicely inside the IKEA Detolf cabinet.

January 2017 Haul 2: Funko POP Batman, Kotobukiya Lady Deadpool Bishoujo Statue and TOA 1000toys 1/6th scale Synthetic Human

Besides my earlier haul in January 2017 (see my toy blog post HERE), I also received some late Christmas gifts which I shall consider as a haul too since they do add to the collection :)

I was blessed with an adorable Funko POP Heroes: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - 3 3/4 inches tall Batman stylized POP vinyl Figure, a Kotobukiya SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) 2016 Exclusive: Lady Deadpool Bishoujo Statue and the long awaited re-issue of TOA Heavy Industries 1000toys 1/6th scale Synthetic Human action figure. Belated Christmas presents are still a welcome sight even if it's late arriving. The TOA Heavy Industries 1000toys 1/6th scale Synthetic Human Re-issue was due to be shipped in September 2016 but due to unforeseen circumstances (there was an earthquake in Japan which affected the work schedule at the factory), was delayed till late December 2016.

January 2017 Haul: Bandai Online Shop Exclusive Star Wars AT-AT Multi-Stand, Bandai Star Wars 1/6th scale Stormtrooper Model Kit and 1/6th scale light-up Luke lightsaber

The new year brings new beginnings, especially for me. 2016 ended with me moving to a newer and smaller place which means I have to get rid of a lot of my figures. Some of these figures have been with me since 1994 when I first started on my toy collecting journey. The collection has grown over the years and I've certainly amassed quite a collection over 22 years. But it's time to take stock and trim down the collection to those that I really want and those that I can do without. So I will be selling most of the stuff I have this year. That being said, I've not stopped collecting because I still love this hobby and all the new and nice stuff that are being produced and released. I'll just be collecting less while getting rid of more.

So what did I get for January 2017? There's the Bandai Online Shop Exclusive Star Wars AT-AT Multi-Stand Desk Organizer, Bandai Star Wars 1/6th scale Stormtrooper Plastic Model Kit and 1/6th scale light-up lightsaber that belongs to Luke Skywalker. The Stormtrooper Plastic Model Kit is a fraction of the price of any other 1/6th scale Stormtroopers out there and I just wanted to see for myself how the figure looks when put together. Judging by the prototype pictures, this Stormtrooper model kit looks like it's worth a shot (pun intended).

December / Xmas 2016 Haul: VTS Toys 1/6th scale Wasteland Ranger, Batman v Superman Die-cast Batmobile and Home Guard Door Stop

It's been a pretty quiet Christmas this year but I'm still thankful and grateful for what I have :) My haul for December 2016 consists of VTS Toys 1/6th scale Wasteland Ranger 12-inch figure aka Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky as seen in the 2015 action film "Mad Max: Fury Road", Suck UK Home Guard Door Stop and the DC Comics Metal Die-Cast Batmobile from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".

Every new Batman that appears on the big screen gets a new ride and the new Ben Affleck Batman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is no exception. Besides the look of Batman, everyone is just as eager to know what his set of wheels look like as well. In comparison to the Tumbler Batmobile utilized in the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, Zack Snyder describes the Batman V Superman Batmobile as being more “Batty”.

November 2016 Haul: Hot Toys Dawn of Justice Superman, Batman & Rogue One Death Trooper

Here's a look at my haul so far for November 2016. The haul consists of Hot Toys MMS343 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1:6 scale Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN Collectible Figure, Hot Toys MMS342 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1:6 scale Ben Affleck as BATMAN Collectible Figure AND Hot Toys MMS385 "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" 1/6th scale Death Trooper (Specialist) Collectible Figure. All 12-inch figures because that's the way I like them :)

Customers in selected markets who pre-ordered both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 1/6th scale Batman and Superman collectible figures at same time received an additional Batman Tech Cowl as a bonus accessory. This is one of the many new sales gimmick Hot Toys is using to entice people to pre-order their products as many collectors have stopped pre-ordering and choose to wait for the product to be released before deciding if they want to buy or not, due to disappointments in the past. Many stores still carry lots of unsold Hot Toys products, something which didn't happen in the past but is occuring a lot more these days. Perhaps Hot Toys figures aren't so hot anymore. The high prices certainly aren't doing them any favors. While the prices may be high, quality is still assured. I myself have scaled down quite a bit and really pick and choose my figures very carefully.

October 2016 Haul: 1/6th scale Rey & BB-8 Two-pack Set, ArtFigures DeadShot + Phicen M32

This is my October 2016 haul: Hot Toys MMS337 Star Wars: The Force Awakens 1:6 scale REY and BB-8 collectible figure set, Art Figures AF021 1/6th scale Dead Soldier 12-inch action figure and Phicen Limited PL2016-M32 1/6th scale Super Flexible Asian Male Seamless Body.

I have been pretty busy lately packing everything for the big move to the newer, smaller place which should be ready in December. Hence the lack of reviews lately :( Many figures will have to go as the display space will be greatly reduced but that hasn't stopped me from getting new stuff LOL. It will be mostly out with the old and in with the new as I'm quite the sucker for new things and the innovative ways 1:6 manufacturers (toy companies sound so wrong since the figures I collect don't fall under the TOYS category anymore) have come up with to produce collectible figures. Case-in-point would be the DollsOddSaga 1:6 scale "Outer Heaven" Exo-skeleton collectible figure which I have just reviewed on my toy blog HERE and HERE, the first of its kind with an working / articulated exo-skeleton attached to a 12-inch body.

Okay, back to the reveal just in case you think these are just empty boxes. It seems there are people who do just collect Hot Toys boxes although I think that's happening less these days. See my toy blog post titled "Hot Toys Collector or Hot Toys Box Collector? Age-old question: To open / not to open the toy1" posted HERE. When Hot Toys first came on the scene, almost every figure would be sold out fast but these days, many Hot Toys figures can still be available at many sites because the take up rate is not as high as before.
