Kumik 1/6th scale Chloë Grace Moretz head sculpt Review - not a bad sculpt at all :)

Chloë Grace Moretz is an American actress and model. She began her acting career in 2004 at age seven, and received her first award nomination the following year for The Amityville Horror. Her other film credits include (500) Days of Summer, The Poker House, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2, Let Me In, Hugo, Dark Shadows, Carrie, If I Stay, The Equalizer, and The 5th Wave. Moretz provided the voice of Hit-Girl for Kick-Ass: The Game and Emily Kaldwin in Dishonored.

Chloë Grace Moretz really stood out for me in the 2010 British-American superhero black comedy film Kick-Ass. As 11-year-old Mindy Macready, she fights crime as the ruthless vigilante Hit-Girl alongside her father Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), a former cop who intends to bring down the crime boss Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong) and his son (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) (Red Mist).

This is the Kumik 1/6th scale Chloë Grace Moretz head sculpt with rooted hair which I got recently. I don't have an appropriate body type for this head so I chose the Brother Production Zombie Killer "Alice" 12-inch figure body for this photo shoot. COOMODEL 1/6th scale Series of Empires Die-cast Gothic Knight 12" figure + Armored horse

In 1066 AD the Normans (people who came from Normandy in Europe) conquered England and introduced feudalism in England. Feudalism was a system of contract where society was divided into four classes: royalty, barons (noblemen) and bishops, knights (a title or a rank) and lastly peasants. Merchants and artisans were placed just above the peasants. From 1066 to about the 14th century, feudalism developed across Europe. There were no professional armies at that time like we have today. Every man who was called upon was expected to follow his king in battle. The king granted land to these knights. A knighthood was obtained either by birth into a noble family or through bravery in battle.

The knight was an important fighter and had to know two basic skills: how to fight and how to ride a horse. A knights’ armour consisted of heavy steel plates to cover his body, a heavy helmet and a shirt of mail (finely intertwined metal rings set very close to each other). The knight also wore gloves, leggings and shoes of mail or metal.

R.I.P. Sonny Landham, best known as Billy Sole with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987 “Predator”

Actor Sonny Landham, who appeared in “Predator” and “48 Hrs,” died from congestive heart failure Thursday in Lexington, Ky. He was 76. The actor, who was part Seminole and part Cherokee, was best known for portraying Native American tracker Billy Sole in Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer “Predator” in 1987.

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is a third-person shooter video game developed by the Montreal branch of Visceral Games and released on March 26, 2013 by Electronic Arts for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game takes place in Mexico and pits T.W.O. against a ruthless drug cartel known as La Guadaña (Spanish for "the Scythe"). Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel focuses around two new T.W.O. operatives named Alpha and Bravo. It is speculated that the reasoning behind the unidentified names is to give the player the feeling that it is them fighting through the missions.

A look at National Service through the years

National Service in Singapore, (commonly known as NS), is a statutory requirement for all male Singaporean citizens and second-generation permanent residents to undergo a period of compulsory service in the uniformed services. Depending on physical and medical fitness, they serve a two-year period as National Servicemen Full-time (NSFs), either in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), or the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). A 2-month reduction in full-time National Service is given for pre-enlistees who are able to pass their National Physical Fitness Award (NAPFA).

The majority of NSFs serve in the SAF, as part of the Army. The reasons for this include the relative manpower needs of the Army compared to the Navy and Air Force, the SPF, and SCDF. Moreover, as compared to the Army, the Air Force (RSAF) and Navy (RSN) are smaller armed services composed primarily of regular servicemen.

National service has been a key component of Singapore’s nation-building journey since its inception. This national duty ensures that Singapore has a strong and ready military force to defend itself should the need arise.

This year marks the 50th year of national service in Singapore. To commemorate it, The Straits Times look briefly at the history of national service and how individual soldier equipment has evolved.

The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 American horror-thriller film directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, and Scott Glenn. Jodie Foster stars as Clarice Starling, a top student at the FBI's training academy. Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) wants Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. Crawford believes that Lecter may have insight into a case and that Starling, as an attractive young woman, may be just the bait to draw him out.

The sky's the limit: FLAGSET 1/6th scale Chinese PLA Airforce Female Aviator 12" figure

The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Chinese armed forces, responsible for defending the country’s airspace, supporting ground and naval forces, air interdiction, and aerial transport and reconnaissance. The air force currently consists of approximately 330,000 personnel and over 2,500 aircraft, including 1,500 combat aircraft. This makes the PLAAF the largest air force in size in Asia, and the third largest in the world, after the United States Air Force and Russian Air Force.

This is an upcoming release: FLAGSET (FS-73006) 1/6th scale Chinese PLA Airforce Female Aviator 12-inch figure. We don't see a lot of pilot figures, let alone a female pilot figure. This set certainly looks interesting and might appeal a lot to collectors of pilot figures.

And in The Straits Times today: It's a small, small world - miniature modelling by Singaporeans

The art of miniature modelling may seem like a niche interest, but more and more hobbyists here are turning their passion into a growing business - either as a profitable sideline or a full-time profession. Unique collectables like mossariums and food sculptures may catch the eye of the younger set, while the more traditional scale models are still highly sought after by collectors. The Straits Times executive photojournalist Desmond Foo looks at the work of some hobbyists.

Mr Calvin Tan, 41, is not only a World War II buff but also a world-renowned miniature figure sculptor and painter. The winner of many overseas awards is also an author and recently produced a video on the art of miniature figure painting. It can take him a few months to complete a hyper realistic figure, but one measuring a mere 5cm in height, sculpted with epoxy putty and then painted, can command a few thousand dollars. They come predominantly in three scales – 1/9, 1/16 and 1/35. Having completed over 200 since he first ventured into scale modelling at the age of 13, he is now focused solely on finishing his private collection. Mr Tan, who is married and has two children, is a department chair and senior lecturer at DigiPen Singapore.
