I got my Ada a few months ago and I'm a first time Hot Toys buyer and I was quite impressed with her.

Then I got the Leon (the agent one) recently and I can see they made significant improvements since then which I enjoy. Happy collecting :)
CHEERSalex teohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10434098393320787285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516693355743712750.post-37884992605788746352012-11-13T10:55:55.784+08:002012-11-13T10:55:55.784+08:00Hello there. I am new to HotToys products, but I see forward to acquire some of the female characters, like Black Widow, BabyDoll and this incredible Ada Wong figure. However I have a question about Hot Toys figures: The level of detail is so great I cannot believe they have feet inside their shoes. Are those "feetshoes" or some sort of "plastic form" without sculpture work? If they really have feet in there, then it would be obvious why the company is so highly regarded.

(Excuse my English... it's not my natal language)

Thanks for reading so far...

A.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516693355743712750.post-4887690217119394422012-10-31T12:04:03.119+08:002012-10-31T12:04:03.119+08:00I'm really impressed with this figure. The rubber elbows and knees.

I have the RE5 Sheva and Chris figures from HT and the joints have now cracked! Rubber joints just don't seem to be the way to go long term.

I thought that HT had moved away from rubber. They did it with Bruce Lee Enter the Dragon figure and also the T2.

This figure seems like its from the same era as the RE5 figures.

I want this...but don't want to deal with rubber cracking at the joints. The functionality of an electronic product is different from say the artistic quality of a sculpted figure. Function and form are separate when you're talking about things like sculpture art.

Ada looks great, true, and her sculpt is very much well done than other female sculpts. That is 100% attributed to the artist himself (or herself). Without it, Hot Toys is practically nothing. KOJUN (Chief Sculptor at HT) is a fantastic sculptor, and his works outside of Hot Toys is just as impressive, if not more so.

If you look on your Hot Toys boxes you can see Art Director, it's different for each character. Ada's head art was directed by none other than KOJUN, which can attribute to Ada's amazing-looking yet subtle features.

You gotta give credit to the artists individually, grouping them as one entity like Hot Toys just doesn't seem right, to me at least.akomeinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516693355743712750.post-27246168605477814932012-10-27T07:58:48.314+08:002012-10-27T07:58:48.314+08:00sorry to hear that :(sorry to hear that :(alex teohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10434098393320787285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516693355743712750.post-9618705118305947972012-10-27T01:42:12.257+08:002012-10-27T01:42:12.257+08:00I think its amazing how far female figures have co...I think its amazing how far female figures have come. We blame APPLE when the new map on the iPhone 5 sucks, we don't look for the software engineer behind it - the company that sells us the product has to be responsible for their product.

Hot Toys has set a bar so high that most other companies fall short and that explains why I've stayed clear of most of the female figures that have been released. I don't go looking for the sculptor, I look at the company that sells the product because it's the company that puts the product up for sale.

Take a look at other companies' female head sculpts and you will see that most of them cannot make the cut.

CHEERSalex teohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10434098393320787285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3516693355743712750.post-28738115085251713092012-10-26T18:46:57.612+08:002012-10-26T18:46:57.612+08:00Ada is looking fantastic.

The HT Jill Valentine BSAA and HT Sheva sculpts looked great to me.

This all depends on who the sculptor is, like the sculptor for the first HT Black Widow...not so nice, same with the upcoming HT MGS The Boss.

I don't think it's fair to generalize it when they're all sculpted by different artists.akomeinoreply@blogger.com
