First mentioned here, Sideshow has now released pictures of their Sandtrooper. The Sandtrooper 12-inch figure comes with fully articulated male body (armored body) with 30+ points of articulation, fully detailed Sandtrooper armor set, featuring new helmet faceplate, new left shin armor, new abdomen armor, and pauldron with white rank designation, bodysuit, shoulder pouches, belt pouches, MG-15 rifle, detailed backpack and the usual 12-inch figure display base with Star Wars logo. Sideshow Exclusive: hand holding droid part from the Tatooine crash site.
Sideshow even chose to tease us with pictures of their upcoming Stormtrooper, seen in the background, to show a contrast in the armor.
This SS Sandtrooper is definitely in my want list this year..
ReplyDeletethe way he's looking, he's going to be on a lot of people's WANT list as well :)
ReplyDeleteOh hell yeah! Thank god I didn't buy the medicom figures! Im waiting for the stormtrooper and now adding this on my list.
ReplyDeleteWith sideshow's price tag (in comparison to medicom's) I can get 2 stormtroopers and pose them standing next to darth vader, wuhoooo!!
yeah Armand and they will look GOOD!! you cannot do that with Medicom's Darth Vader & Stormtrooper because Medicom's Darth Vader is puny :( don't understand what Medicom is trying to do with the Star Wars line, especially with all the wrong size and off scale bodies - SIGH! at least Sideshow is going down the right road ;p
ReplyDeletePrototype looks great!
ReplyDelete- but...the armor body and weathering issues we've seen on general kenobi..eee..will this live up to these photos?
ah! i'll still get him regardless!
Hi Bracken, WELCOME :) I find that Sideshow is trying too hard to make the Sandtrooper look dirty. It's like he fell into a mud pit or just went mud wrestling and waited for the mud to drip dry. The desert has more sand than mud, he shouldn't look so muddy. That said, I'm still getting him :)
ReplyDeletehey, THANKS :) (I occasionally try to blog...ehhhh...)
ReplyDeleteanyway yeah agreed, bit too muddy than sandy.
Is that a drum ammo on his Mg-15 gun?
Plus what is the difference on his face plate?
hi bracken, yeah i saw the hot chicks on your blog ;>
ReplyDeletemost of the weapons used in Star Wars were bashed from existing weapons, usually World War II. the drum ammo are also from the German MG but in this case, it's double drum because laser weapons don't need an ejection port for spent cartridges.
i don't remember there being a difference on the face plate. i think Sideshow just named the parts on the Sandtrooper for us
