Today is Valentine's Day and this is for my lovely wife Daisy who has been my most loyal supporter forever. Since we both don't buy into the commercial practice of paying many many times more for something that is already dying (the flower just doesn't know it yet) and which usually cost a lot less at other times (a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose except on Valentine's when it can cost you an arm and a leg), this seems more meaningful in a weird kind of way. (I mean no disrespect to all those who did purchase flowers for their better half as I believe it's a sweet thing to do, it's just personal between the wife and me.)
So what did you do for that special someone today?
Last year, I posted an entry about "Dick and Jane" Lover Box Set by Pal Wong from Hot Toys SRS Project on Valentine's Day (see post here). This year it's all red and silver and ULTRA!!
The clear head Ultra Seven lights up when you push the botton on his chest but first you have to put the batteries in of course. Never leave the toys displayed with the batteries because if the batteries leak, that's the end of the electronic function :(
Following the immense success of ULTRAMAN (Urutoraman, 1966), ULTRA SEVEN (Urutorasebun) made its first appearance on October 1st 1967. In Japan, Ultra Seven’s popularity has continued to thrive and for many fans it is viewed as the apex of Tsuburaya Productions’ Ultra Series, surpassing even the original ULTRAMAN.
I've also covered Medicom RAH Ultra Seven and Marmit Ultra Seven as well as Bandai Ultra Seven Sound Battler.
A new character, Ultra Seven 21 (read as “two-one” rather than “twenty-one”) appeared in ULTRAMAN NEOS (Urutoraman Neosu, 2000). Ultra Seven’s most recent appearance was in the television series ULTRAMAN MEBIUS (Urutoraman Mebiusu, 2006) and its accompanying theatrical film ULTRAMAN MEBIUS & ULTRAMAN BROTHERS (Urutoraman Mebiusu & Urutora Kyoudai, 2006) - DVD out now
Let's not forget Ultraman Taro - there's the latest Medicom RAH version, Marmit version and Takara's vintage Henshin Cyborg version as well.
There're also Ultra beings in their human form, always as a part of the Ultra guard with their outrageous organization names and abbreviations, plus a little female love interest thrown in as well - see post here
Dude, you've been wrapped up in your toys for so long you don't know anything about women. Even though you think she doesn't care about flowers I am sure she cares about what her coworkers think. Send her the roses to her office (it doesn't even have to be on Valentine's Day) and I guarantee she will love them and you.
ReplyDeletethanks Thunderbob :) for the tip. thing is: I'm her only co-worker and we've been together for 21 years, started our own company for 20 years, married for 19 years, eldest son is 18 year-old this year and younger son will be fifteen this year. we see each other 24/7 + 365 days a year since we work together, sleep together, wake up together, go holidays and vacation together etc - you get my drift and are still going at it like teenagers so believe me when i say - she doesn't care about flowers ;p i do know what she likes and what little gestures touch her and i do those things everyday and our marriage is the envy of others >_< i admit i don't know anything about women but there's only one gal i need to know everything about and she's my better half and my soulmate :) so we are GOOD, thanks for asking
