Having served as Queen for the maximum two four-year terms, she was elected Senator upon the conclusion of her reign. As a Senator, she leads a faction opposed to the Military Creation Act, which would create an army of clones for the Republic. Padmé becomes a target for assassins hired by the Trade Federation (Bounty Hunters Jango Fett and Zam Wesell were hired) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen)—now Obi-Wan Kenobi's padawan—is assigned to protect her.
They receive a message from Obi-Wan, who has been captured by Separatist leader Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) on the planet Geonosis. Padmé and Anakin rush to his aid only to be captured themselves and condemned to death in a Geonosian coliseum. That's where the fun begins.
This is Hasbro's 1/6 scale 12-inch figure of Padmé Amidala released in 2002, dressed to kill (and thrill) in her battle togs as seen on Geonosis.
There's a slight hint of Natalie Portman in the head sculpt. I've seen repaints where the artist manages to bring out the likeness - now that's art!!
The armband that she wears signifies political service - people in the Star Wars Universe have a reason for everything; and the hairstyle is meant to be practical for travel and action!

The back doesn't do her justice - she has much nicer buns. Have you seen her in "Closer (2004)" where she played 20-year-old Alice Ayres, an American stripper in London? Well, you should.

The holster on her utility belt looks too phallic for my liking. Kind of reminded me of Disney's Little Mermaid controversy where one of the castle spires had a striking resemblance to a phallus, or penis on early promotional posters and video covers. The inclusion of such a design was later reported to have been placed there by a disgruntled employee and later versions of the promotional posters and video/dvd covers were re-designed to exclude this content.
One of the problems with this figure is that she can't stand on her own two feet. I like my 1/6 scale 12-inch figures to hold their own poses as it adds a little more realism and dislike having to use the figure stand unless it's for dramatic poses - oh well (SIGH)
