Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series - MMS103: 1/6th scale Hugh Jackman as Wolverine Limited Edition Collectible Figure from the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie without his brown leather jacket and maroon colored shirt. The newly developed Hot Toys hirsute muscular figure body has limited articulation. Because the shoulder and upper arm is made up of one piece in order to achieve more realism, the articulation between these two joints are non-existent.
The forearms can bend at the elbows but because it is not double jointed (again for more realism), there is only so much it can do. This is an instant where Hot Toys went for realism rather than articulation which cannot be faulted as you can get some of the trademark Wolverine poses but don't expect him to hold an assault rifle in a CQB pose as he won't be able to bring the weapon so close to his body or cheeks, unlike the standard 12-inch military figures. But then again, the military figures are fully clothed and loaded to the brim for effect whereas Logan is most often seen showing off his bare muscular hirsute body. All he needs are his adamantium claws (made of metal)
Logan: My whole life, I've felt like an animal - but I've ignored my instincts. I ignored what I really am. But that will never happen again.
Logan to SilverFox: I thought you were the Moon and I was your Wolverine. Turns out you're the Trickster, and I'm just the fool who got played.More close-up pictures of Hot Toys 1:6 Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (Logan) head sculpt from the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie
Logan: I come with you, I'm coming for blood. No law. No code of conduct. You point me in the right direction, you get the hell out of my way.
Logan: [is shown his dog tags] I want new ones.
William Stryker: And what do you want them to say?
Logan: Wolverine.
There are mini rivets on Logan's 1:6 jeans - NICE touch
Victor Creed: Oh! Shiny. Tell me something, Jimmy. Do you even know how to kill me?
Logan: I'm gonna cut your goddamned head off. See if that works.
Wolverine's most famous catch phrase: "I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn't very nice"
The "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" movie (now out on DVD) was okay, not really something to shout about but all credit to Hugh Jackman for his performance, for giving us a screen version of everyone's favorite mutant. Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed (Sabretooth) was equally good, the yin to Logan's yang.

The shoulders can still move inward and outward, allowing you to hunch or straighten his shoulders. I think you should mention the neck, which was far more articulation than any previous muscle body. It's almost as good as a normal True Type neck. Almost.
ReplyDeleteI think the body is a fair trade-off between aesthetics and articulation, and if you really think about it, you're not really losing much. The double hinged elbows are gone and the upper arm/deltoid area is a bit limited, but otherwise, it's still a very flexible body.
I didn'i like the movie Wolverine, but I think this Action Figure is amazing. I guess this final version is better than the prototype. Mine is coming, but here in Brazil we are having a great delay in the Mail Service.
