And here he is with the foldable glaives, all ready to make his point and bring it across to any vampire who has doubts about his existence
Close-ups of Blade with his foldable glaives, also called Blade's Bloodbath Shredder Glaive. In the movie, Blade's glaives are centrally spring loaded. The mechanism that keeps the blades secure in both the open and closed position requires a hub mounted spring in order to keep the blades in whatever position they are locked in. These 1/6 scale versions are not. Other than that, they are still very detailed and well produced.
Blade's 1/6 sword in sheath attached onto his vest via a hook on the sheath. It protrudes out from his overcoat through a triangular hole cut into it.
Blade with his extendable hand blades. All for ridding the world of vampires and blood suckers. The hand blades retract back into their housings - pretty cool.
And finally, Hot Toys Blade with his sword - Sword of the DayWalker (Blade is the half man, half immortal vampire killer hunter and his sword brings instant judgement)
Wesley Snipes has been training in martial arts since age twelve, earning a high ranking 5th dan black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has also trained as a student of Capoeira under Mestre Jelon Vieira and in a number of other disciplines including various styles of kung fu and Jiu Jitsu. As a martial artist, Wesley Snipes as Blade certainly was very convincing and the fight scenes were just cool ;p
And more pictures taken of the excellent Blade figure by Hot Toys
This Hot Toys 1/6 scale MMS collectible Wesley Snipes as Blade "DayWalker" action figure from the "Blade II" movie really surprised me in more ways than one, from the excellent realistic life-like head sculpt to the movie-accurate outfits (costume) to the generous amount of weapons and accessories. This figure has a very HIGH fun factor for me and IMHO ranks higher than the Hot Toys Hugh Jackman Wolverine figure (my reviews HERE). Once again, TOP MARKS to Hot Toys for giving us 1/6 collectors what we want and MORE.

ReplyDeleteHello Everyone! I'm YBRON from Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. Every day I get into this page is equal to be more and more amazed with all the cool things you portray. I am also a collector of the Sci Fi Movies and the 12" figures. I hace a question... Is the Blade leather-like outfit more resistant than the Medicom Darth Vader's? As far as I've known, the last one's tended to peel. I know it might peel more easily if someone handles it as if it was a toy, buy what happens if you keep both figures in the blister, without having' em loose? Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteHi YBRON, welcome to my blog site :) thanks for the compliments. Blade's outfit seems to be made out of a much better quality than Medicom's although nobody can guarantee that it will not peel over time, only GOD knows. From my own personal experience, taking the figures out is MUCH BETTER than leaving them in the blister or box as the humidity and heat from long term storage can cause the outfit to melt. I've discovered that displaying the figure (inside a glass cabinet and NOT in direct sunlight) prevents the outfit from melting or disintegrating while those kept in boxes tend to melt away.
ReplyDeletePlus you get to show off the figure too! keeping it in the box only shows off the packaging as the figure is partially blocked by the layers of plastic tray and you cannot see or enjoy the figure and its details. CHEERS!
Darn it Alex you scared me! LOL! I have both Abagail and Blade still in the box. Why? not sure, just didn't have the time or shelf space to display these guys yet I guess. But since I have been concerned with peeling of the outfits and the rubber deteriorating and stuff like that you have me all nervous now! HAHAHAHA! Looks like Blade will have to be opened now. Not sure when but sooner than later I guess.
ReplyDeleteTime to take them out and play with them then George ;p ENJOY haha didn't mean to scare you but that's from my own personal (not-so-good) experience CHEERS
