Pre-order Toymaster War Journalist (Version 2.0)

Remember the sneak peeks I posted about the Toymaster 1:6 Reporter (v 2.0)?

No? Not to worry :) You can now pre-order the new Toymaster 1:6 scale War Journalist (Version 2.0). This set includes a figure who bears some resemblance to Matt Damon (lots of customizing possibilities there - for one: think "Green Zone", the 2010 action thriller war film starring Matt Damon as Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller on the hunt for WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq, March 2003)

This figure even comes with the Shemagh scarf and shooting glasses

He also has on him a brown long sleeve polo shirt, photographer's vest, blue jeans, sneakers, watch, laptop case / shoulder bag (in ACU camo), camera bag (in blue ripstop nylon), two cameras (with removable flashes and lenses), water bottle, cellphone / mobile phone, pens (three pieces), a Notebook laptop computer, and even two rolls of film. Needless to say, this guy comes with all the detailed items a wartime photographer would carry.

I couldn't believe Toymaster included two rolls of Photographic film in this day and age. With the advent of the digital camera, photography using photographic film to create images made visible by photographic processing has almost been made obsolete and I would think that a War Journalist would certainly not be relying on such an archaic practice although I think it's a nice touch, just not current.

You can pre-order the Toymaster Battliefield Hero - 1/6 scale War Journalist (Version 2.0) HERE

  1. Version 1 with the telephoto lens is more interesting. In the market, there was also a very early war journalist figerine with a heavey-duty video camera (the type used by news broadcasting companies) but I don't know from which manufacturer it was made.

  4. I have read that some journos carry a manual operated film camera as a back up to the powered digital in case the batteries go flat
