Hot Toys "T2" T-1000 12-inch figure REVIEW 1

Who was the reprogrammed T-800 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) seen in my previous posts fighting with?

In the 1991 science fiction action film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day", commonly abbreviated "T2", Skynet sends a new Terminator, a T-1000 (portrayed by Robert Patrick), back in time to 1995 to kill a young 10-year-old John Connor (Edward Furlong).

This is the Hot Toys MMS129 (Movie Masterpiece Series) Collector's Edition T-1000 1/6th scale collectible figure. The standard box packaging is very straightforward with the outer slip-case cover and the figure with the accessories in a window box underneath. It's the same with the Hot Toys Black Widow female figure, Hot Toys MMS119 (Movie Masterpiece Series) "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" 1/6th scale Sarah Connor Collectible Figure and Hot Toys MMS117 "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" 1/6th scale T-800 collectible figure

Created by Skynet, the T-1000 is an advance prototype of the Terminator Infiltrator series. Rather than utilizing a metal endoskeleton surrounded by living tissue, as in the T-800s, the T-1000 is made of liquid metal mimetic polyalloy that allows the T-1000 to perfectly emulate practically anything it touches, and is nearly indestuctible due to its high shock resistance and regenerating capability.

The tray that contains the Hot Toys 1/6 scale T2 T-1000 is loaded with lots of accessories, goodies if you will, almost a Hot Toys DX figure, much like the earlier released and exceptional Hot Toys MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) 1/6th scale BLADE Limited Edition Collectible Figurine from the "Blade II (2002)" movie.

The equally all important Terminator 2 T-1000 Instruction Sheet for the 1/6th scale collectible figure, detailing how you assemble the police crash helmet or motorcycle helmet (rather unique and clever way to wear the helmet), the police duty belt and the interchangeable palms and arms.

The basic Hot Toys T2 T-1000 (Robert Patrick) 12-inch figure out of the box, wearing white round neck T-shirt, dark blue police officer's uniform with name tag (Austin), Los Angeles Police badge (572), pants with belt and buckle, socks and leather-like shoes.

Upon its arrival in 1995, the T-1000 assumes the identity of a police officer and goes in pursuit of John Connor, future leader of the Resistance.

Billy Idol was Cameron's original choice for the T-1000, and Cameron had drawn storyboards to resemble him, but Idol could not accept the role following a motorcycle accident.

Cameron stated that "I wanted to find someone who would be a good contrast to Arnold. If the 800 series is a kind of human Panzer tank, then the 1000 series had to be a Porsche."

Robert Patrick, Jr. (born November 5, 1958) is an American actor who found greater mainstream recognition when he landed the role of the main villain, the T-1000, in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" — a role described by Allmovie as "one of the most memorable roles in one of the most memorable films of the decade."

Here are close-ups of the Hot Toys Robert Patrick as T2 T-1000 1/6 scale head sculpt.

James Cameron, the director of the film, said he chose Robert Patrick for the role because of his physical appearance, which was needed for the role.

And this is the other Hot Toys T2 T-1000 1/6 head sculpt included, an interchangeable damaged head almost broken into two (2) halves

Hot Toys MMS129 (Movie Masterpiece Series) Collector's Edition T-1000 1/6th scale collectible figure accessories include One (1) pair of metal-like hook arms (which the T-1000 had used to pry open the lift door), One (1) metal-like blade arm, One (1) pair of open palms, One (1) pair for holding guns, One (1) right palm with a very sharp metal-like index pointing finger and One (1) left palm with pointing forefinger.

Also included are these detachable magnetic bullet impact hits - Three (3) small-size, two (2) medium-size and two (2) large-size bullet hits

There's also this additional black zip-up highway patrol officer jacket with badge, One (1) pair of dark blue highway patrol officer pants with white stripes on both sides, One (1) pair of leather-like knee-high black boots, police crash helmet or motorcycle helmet, Heckler & Koch SP89 SMG submachine gun (mocked up as H&K MP5K) with a removable magazine, Beretta 92FS pistol with three pistol magazines, One (1) pair of metal-like handcuffs, One (1) pair of sunglasses, One (1) torchlight, One (1) walkie talkie, One (1) ball pen and the customary Figure stand with T1000 nameplate and the movie logo (not shown)

The Hot Toys 1/6 scale Beretta 92FS pistol has moving slide and removable magazine. The 1/6 hand cuffs can be opened and closed, and are attached by a tiny chain

The 1/6 scale Heckler & Koch SP89, mocked up as an H&K MP5K by adding an MP5K foregrip and converting it to full auto. They are recognized as SP89s by their lack of a paddle magazine release behind the magazine and the lack of a push pin lower receiver

Close-ups of the sunglasses, torchlight, walkie talkie and black ballpoint pen

The additional black zip-up highway patrol officer jacket with badge, dark blue highway patrol officer pants with white stripes on both sides, leather-like knee-high black boots, police crash helmet or motorcycle helmet is almost a complete alternate uniform set. In later posts, I'll show how I kit the Hot Toys T-1000 as a highway patrol officer :)

REVIEW III: Morphing in progess - the T-1000 with all its "liquid metal weapons"
