Every hero needs a villain ("bad guy", "black hat"). Every protagonist has an antagonist ("opponent, competitor, rival"). The villain is there to make the hero look good or GREAT. Sometimes the hero is born because of the villain i.e. no villain, no hero AND sometimes it may be the other way around - because the hero exists, so must the villain be. Whatever the case may be, heroes and villains must co-exist for without the bad or evil, how does one know what is good?
Coming soon from Heroic is this 1:6 scale "Mexican Drug Lord" headsculpt with scarred / tattooed hands and a bunch of interesting accessories - weapons and DRUGS! The head sculpt looks a lot like Danny Trejo, an American actor of Mexican descent who has appeared in numerous Hollywood films, most notably in roles as an antagonist or anti-hero. He was most recently cast as Cuchillo, a ruthless enforcer for the Los Zetas Mexican drug cartel who carries twin submachine guns in "Predators (2010)" alongside Adrien Brody as Royce (check out the Hot Toys 12-inch Royce HERE)
Without saying it, Heroic is pretty much putting out a 1:6 scale Cuchillo from Predators head sculpt for collectors. As they say in the copyright world, any resemblance is purely coincidental haha
The Intratec TEC-DC9 (TEC-9) is a blowback-operated, semi-automatic firearm, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, and classified by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms as a handgun. [source: wiki]
It's nice to have more varied and different types of firearms in 1/6 scale rather than the over-exposed M4s, SCARs and what-have-yous
The Para Ordnance P12-45 .45 ACP Pistol - usually referred to as compacts or sub-compact - are miniaturized 1911s. This one comes with a drum magazine.
A drug lord cannot be one without his stash (drugs) - first in 1/6 scale I think
This would certainly make a nice addition to any 1:6 collection. Not sure if this comes with apparel. Will have to wait and see.
I think if they give a leather-like briefcase and some cash, will be even better..
ReplyDeleteKind of amusing that it's a "HEROIC" mexican drug lord...
ReplyDeleteHeroic has been producing rather UN-heroic figures - Castor Troy from "Face-off", John Dillinger the bank robber, Leon the Assassin (Professional Killer), and now a Mexican Drug Lord. They should call themselves UN-Heroic instead.
ReplyDeleteThis is more of a sicario type(hit man) from the Cartels than a Drug Lord. I haven't seen any Mexican or Colombian King Pin that looked like this. I'm working on some project now, and soon I'll have my own latino mobsters Edition. Just like the Sopranos or La Cosa Nostra.
