This is the BBI Elite Force Aviator series 1:6 scale 12-inch U.S. Army Apache Helicopter Pilot "Marshall" action figure. The Apache AH-64 is the United States Army’s primary attack helicopter. Its principal mission being the destruction of high-value targets using the Hellfire missile. The Apache also employs a 30mm M230 chain gun and Hydra rockets to further enhance its firepower. This twin-engine, four bladed helicopter has all weather capability and is equipped with Target Acquisition Designation sight (TADS) and a Pilot Night Vision Sensor (PNVS) allowing its two man crew to participate in both day and night operations. The Apache is both designed and well equipped to fight and survive during day, night and adverse weather.
This 12-inch figure came with: Flight suit (in Woodland camouflage), Flight trousers (in Woodland camouflage), T-shirt, Body armor, Body armor plate, OVI vest with life preserver, Fire cap, Boots, flight helmet, 0.38 Calibre revolver, 0.38 Bullets X 12, 038 Pistol pouch, Survival knife, Survival knife sheath, PRC 90 walkie talkie, SDU-5/E strobe light, Flare launcher, Signal flare X 9, Signal flare holder, Signal mirror, Whistle, Sunglasses.
The cool feature is the 1:6 scale Apache Pilot's helmet. One of the revolutionary features at the introduction of the Apache was its helmet mounted display, the Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting System (IHADSS); among other abilities the pilot or gunner can slave the helicopter's 30 mm automatic M230 Chain Gun to his helmet, making the gun track head movements to point at where he looks. The M230E1 can be alternatively fixed to a locked forward firing position, or controlled via the Target Acquisition and Designation System (TADS).
Regret that the nice figure line from BBI ended 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWas doing a search and came across this blog. Shame bbi stopped production on this item, especially since it is modeled after me. If anyone out there owns one of these figures please feel free to contact me. I will be happy to autograph these figures for you.
