Hot Toys "Blade: Trinity" Abigail Whistler REVIEW 1

From Action Man to Action Woman! Jessica Biel is among a group of women who can play an action role most convincingly. The others I can think of at the top of my head are Angelina Jolie (From "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" to "Mr & Mrs Smith" to "Wanted" and most recently "Salt"), Jennifer Garner (as super spy Sydney Bristow on "Alias" to her starring role as Elektra in "Daredevil"), Kate Beckinsale ("Underworld" and "Van Helsing"), Milla Jovovich ("The Fifth Element" and all the "Resident Evil" films) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow in "Iron Man 2" - ouch! she's HOT)

This is the Hot Toys MMS128 (Movie Masterpiece Series) 1/6th scale Abigail Whistler Limited Edition Collectible Figurine from the "Blade: Trinity" movie. The movie-accurate Abigail Whistler FemFig collectible (Female Action Figure, NOT doll) is specially crafted based on the image of Jessica Biel in the movie, highlighting the newly sculpted head, multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture, highly-detailed costume and weapons.

Similar to the Hot Toys released Blade figure (reviewed HERE), the box packaging resembles that of a shoe box with pictures of Jessica Biel as Abigail Whistler on the front and product picture on the back.

Lift the lid and you see another Abigail Whistler product shot with a short description: Abigail Whistler is the illegitimate child of Abraham Whistler, the vampire hunter, and she's known of the existence of vampires since her childhood. She's a member of the Nightstalkers, a small group led by Hannibal King, an ex-vampire out for revenge. When her father dies and Blade is arrested by the FBI, Abigail and Hannibal help Blade escape and convince the Daywalker to join their team. The Nightstalkers learn about Dracula's resurgence and want to destroy him with the help of Blade.

The rest of Abigail's accessories are found in another separate tray located just under the lid

Always remember to read the instructions first before attempting to do anything with the figure. They are put there for a reason and that is to prevent any damage to the figure and parts thereof.

Here's a look at the Hot Toys "Blade: Trinity" 1:6 scale Abigail Whistler (Jessica Biel) 12-inch female figure out of the box. Among all the 1:6 scale manufacturers in the market and industry, I still think that Hot Toys come the closest to making female figures with female-looking head sculpts. Some companies produce female figures that look so bad that the only way for you to know that it is a female figure is by the size of her bosoms and even then, it could be mistaken for a transvestite haha check out my post HERE to see what I mean ;p Triad Toys also happen to fall into this category. I find Triad Toys' female figures less than attractive and far from appealing.

Here's a closer look at the Hot Toys Abigail Whistler head sculpt. It does resemble Jessica Biel and the likeness is there for all to see. More close-up views of the HS to follow. Scroll down to see more of the 1/6 female head :)

I think the multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture needs improvement as it doesn't look realistic enough. Rooted hair might be an alternative option but that too has its downsides, one of which is too "Barbie-like", too much "doll" and not enough "action figure" (a very thin line especially for female figures)

Overall, I'm quite happy with the end result as I really dig the realistic looking headsculpt and the very good resemblance to the actress who played Abigail Whistler in "Blade: Trinity", Jessica Biel

And here's a look at the rest of Hot Toys 1:6 scale Abigail Whistler. She wears a red colored top under her patterned vest, brown-color leather-like pants with belts, Magnum gun holster and black boots

Below are pictures showing the back of Hot Toys "Blade: Trinity" Abigail Whistler 12-inch female figure - close-ups of her pants and vest. Also take note of the cool leather-like black-color left forearm gauntlet. Archers wear these leather gauntlets to protect their arm and prevent the bowstring from snaring and hurting their arms.

Again we see how badly executed the multi-layered stereoscopic hair sculpture is. You almost think that snakes are going to come out from there, like Medusa's head of snakes in classical Greek mythology.

Two (2) extra pairs of interchangeable palms including: one (1) left fist, one (1) left palm for taking bow, One (1) gloved right palm fist, one (1) gloved right palm for holding the Magnum.
