"Taken" is a 2008 action thriller film produced by Luc Besson, starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, and Maggie Grace. Neeson plays Bryan Mills, a former Central Intelligence Agency SAD operative who sets about tracking down his daughter after she is kidnapped by Albanian sex traders while travelling in France.
Highly-skilled CIA officer Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) has retired in an effort to build a closer relationship with his teenage daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). His frequent absences had made him a distant father and led to his divorce.
Bryan's specific skills come in handy when his daughter Kim is kidnapped by Albanian sex traders and he discovers that he only has a rescue window of 96 hours (four days), after which Kim will likely disappear forever.
His speech to his daughter's kidnapper just before he is disconnected was used on the posters and the trailer as well. It was enough to make people go and see the film :) "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
This kitbash is based on the Head Play 1/6 Liam Neeson head sculpt put on a TTL 12-inch body with attire also by TTL, consisting of black jacket, black t-shirt, black jeans with black belt and buckle, and black boots.
When Bryan confronts the slaver he "spoke" with on the phone, he kills several of his men and takes one of their factory black Beretta 92FS pistols, which he uses for a good duration of the film.
A close-up shot of my kitbashed 1/6 Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills 12-inch figure as seen in TAKEN
Here are some close-up views of the Head Play 1/6 scale Liam Neeson head sculpt. The resemblance is pretty good and you can tell the headsculpt has Liam's likeness.
I think Liam Neeson in TAKEN was one of his most remarkable roles. He took the role of Bryan Mills, ex-CIA special agent and made it his own, believable and convincingly so. He's no Jason Bourne so he didn't try to "kung fu" his way through the bad guys but simply dispense them with his own rough street justice style which worked.
Liam Neeson cuts an imposing and intimidating figure, being 6 ft 4 in (193 cm) tall. For most people, this is probably how they see him ;p
Bryan to Marko after he found him: "You don't remember me? We spoke on the phone two days ago. I told you I would find you."
An official 12-inch figure produced and released with Liam Neeson's likeness is that of Liam as Qui-Gon Jinn in "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)". For pictures, go HERE.
One of the best sculpts from Headplay. Cool. Perhaps due to over-release, Headplay's sculpts of other characters dropped in standard.
