Seen @ STGCC 2011: Hot Toys 1/6 Figures & MORE

For me, the highlight of the 2011 Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC) has to be the Hot Toys booth. This year Hot Toys brought along their whole (well, almost) lock stock and barrel to Singapore and put up an awesome display of current as well as upcoming Movie Masterpiece collectibles PLUS fantastic dioramas created by artists using Hot Toys products (including 1/6 figures and vehicles!). Besides the THREE exclusives up for grabs (the queue started from as early as 5.30am because NO overnight queues were allowed and the doors only opened at 10am), Hot Toys put up enough of a display to keep the photographers and fans alike happy, with so much to see and marvel at.

I can tell you that the next Hot Toys MMS DX figure will be from the Batman movie. It's going to be another 1/6 scale Joker 12-inch figure but this time it's the Jack Nicholson JOKER from the 1989 Batman film directed by Tim Burton.

The Hot Toys MMS DX 1/6 scale Joker 12-inch figure comes with his outlandishly garish suit of dayglo colors comprising mainly of purple, green and orange!

Also included is his florid purple overcoat with a large pink flower that squirts acid.

There are his odd gadgets (such as gag chattering teeth) and weapons (trick revolver and ludiscrously long-barreled gun) as well.

On display is also the Hot Toys 1/6 scale Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film. This vehicle is HUGE and sleek.

Tim Burton's live-action films "Batman" and "Batman Returns" presented a different version of the Batmobile, which reflected that film's Art Deco version of Gotham City, both of which were designed by Anton Furst. It was long, low and sleek, and was built on a Chevy Impala chassis.

It is powered by a military Boeing turboshaft engine driving the rear wheels through a 4 speed semi-automatic transmission and is street registered. This car was designed and constructed by Casey Putsch of Putsch Racing in 2011. Putsch Racing also created a V8 powered replica complete with retractable firing machine guns, automated canopy, internet, GPS, police/military scanner, etc.. That car was also street registered in the United States.

Another favorite DC Comics book superhero that got made into film is Superman and there's no other Superman like the Christopher Reeve Superman from the 1978 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Now after so many years (33 to be exact – some of you weren't even born yet and might not have seen the film on the big screen in the cinema), we are finally going to see a Christopher Reeve Superman that will do him justice!

To be able to see the Hot Toys MMS 1/6 scale Christopher Reeve Superman 12-inch figure so close was special :) And check out that stunning Christopher Reeve head sculpt - super duper, man!

From DC to Marvel: Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Monger from the 2008 Iron Man film. This figure is HUMONGOUS, ginormous, mega HUGE!

Did I mention already that this figure is immensely LARGE?!

And of course there's got to be Iron Man, even the Toys Fair Exclusive version

Let's not forget old Red, White and Blue – Captain America, First Avenger. That shield is really shiny! Everything looks good on this 1/6 scale Captain America 12-inch figure. You can be sure that there'll be a version 2.0 when The Avengers movie comes out in May next year.

Other than 1/6 scale Iron Man figures which Hot Toys seems to have a knack of producing a lot of (including repaints and variations thereof), there are just as many Hot Toys 1/6 Predator figures lurking around, if not more!

On display was the new soon-to-be-released classic Predator from the recent 2010 "Predators" movie

The Toys Fair Exclusive Hot Toys 14-inch Shadow Predator

And the recently released Tracker Predator with alien hound

And then there are the AWESOME Hot Toys dioramas. This one's of a Samurai Predator. These displays are thought out and created by artists who are given Hot Toys 1/6 figures and products (including vehicles) and allowed free reign to let their creativity flow, much like the Hot Toys Iron Man CollARTible Exhibition held at the Singapore Philatelic Museum from 9 October 2010 till 21 November 2010 last year (check out all of my posts starting HERE).

These are stunning creations which will never be made as they are unlicensed and a once-off artist interpretation so although this Hot Toys Samurai Predator is based on a Predator body and head, the rest of the parts are all made by the artist himself as part of the exhibition.

Aliens were not spared either. This is a "Alien" inspired diorama

Let's not forget the wonderful characters from Iron Man 2, in full 1/6 scale diorama scenes as seen in the film, taken right out and re-enacted for our viewing pleasure.

Last but not least, there's Hot Toys "Resident Evil: Afterlife" 1/6th scale Alice 12-inch Collectible Female Figure of hot babe Milla Jovovich as seen in the movie.

There are lots more on display than I was able to take. Needless to say, you have to go see it for yourself if you are able to because it's much better seeing all these in person than through pictures although I try to give you a glimpse of what's on display at the Hot Toys booth at the 2011 Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC).

  9. Damn, look at all these figures! I really like The Joker. He looks classic.

But I think Alice needs a bit fix, 'cause Milla Jovovich HERSELF quoted,

"its just... cross eyed and... looks like my crazy cousin who lives in the attic eating fish heads. is that a good visual?"

Yep, she said that on her Twitter. You can check for the screenshot here:-
