Review 3: BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive Pathfinder Oya TK Ono

And finally we come to this: Fully kitted ThreeA (3A) Tomorrow King Oyabun 1/6 scale Pathfinder Ono 12-inch figure which is also a BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive. This is my FIRST Ashley Wood designed 12-inch human figure (after the earlier Badbot robot I got) and I'm very pleased with it and had quite a bit of fun taking pictures of it :)

Having posted twice on this 1:6 scale figure already (Packaging and contents HERE followed by figure with everything on except his hooded jacket HERE), it's only right that I post pictures of this ThreeA Popbot Tomorrow King Oyabun figure with his complete getup, jacket and all.

You know the famous saying "A picture tells a thousand words"? Well, then, no more words need to be said ;p ENJOY the pictures. Scroll down to see more :)

As I mentioned before, the camouflaged jacket with hood reminds me of the Australian Army's camouflage pattern, the DPCU (Disruptive Pattern Combat Uniform) or Auscam which is based on the U.S. duck hunter patterns of World War II.

The 1940 design, "frog-skin", "leopard spot" or "duck hunter", was issued as a reversible beach / jungle coverall and was soon changed to a two-part jacket and pants. It was first issued to the U.S. Marines fighting on the Solomon Islands and worn by Marine Raiders and Paramarine units as well as many regular Marine units in the Battle of Tarawa. Battlefield experience showed that pattern was unsuitable for moving troops, and production was halted in 1944 with a return to standard single-tone uniforms.

During 1944, units of the 2nd Armored Division in Normandy were issued with "frog skin" / "leopard spot" camouflage patterns, but similarity to the battledress worn by Waffen SS troops led to friendly fire and it was also withdrawn.

Although not copied directly from the original design, the dapple type spots pattern in use by Australia (termed DPCU - Disruptive Pattern, Combat Uniform) are certainly derivative of the original family of duck hunter patterns.

Here we see the BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive: 1/6 scale Pathfinder Oya (Oyabun) TK (Tomorrow Kings) Ono 12-inch figure wearing the camouflage hooded jacket and brandishing the double katanas / swords.

With the hooded jacket worn, you cannot see all the bags / pouches that are included with this 3A exclusive figure - three of those regular military issue bags with double buckles / clips and two ammo-type pouches plus two wooden sheaths for his swords. They were shown in the earlier post when I took pictures of this 3A BBICN exclusive Pathfinder Ono 12-inch figure without his camouflage jacket.

Looking at this pose of the BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive 1/6 scale Pathfinder Oya TK Ono figure, I'm reminded of the Japanese Samurais of old. In the movies, they were like the gun slinging cowboys of the Wild West except instead of guns, the Samurais wielded swords / katanas

In the post-apocalyptic world of Popbot, Pathfinder Ono does not own a gun nor does he need one, having two trusty katanas by his side, ready to be drawn at the most opportune moment

He squints his eyes to protect them from the glare of the sun reflecting off the white desert sands whilst his ears are listening out for any suspecting sounds that are out of the ordinary.

Sensing something amiss, Pathfinder Ono draws his double katanas and stands at the ready, poised to strike at the threat that he thinks might be near, ever ready, ever vigilant.

What's more to be said? I LIKE it ;)

BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive 1/6 scale Pathfinder Oya TK Ono 12-inch figure was most FUN to pose and shoot pictures of :) There were no fragile parts to be worried about or fear of the paint being chipped off or costume / outfit tear or rip due to its tightness. What can I say? This figure was a blast to play with ;p
