Kotobukiya & Enterbay 1/6 Elvis Presley '68 Comeback Special Figure Preview

Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century. A cultural icon, he is widely known by the single name Elvis. He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".

Kotobukiya & Enterbay will be releasing a 1/6 scale Elvis Presley '68 Comeback Special 12-inch Figure to mark the 35th Anniversary of the King's death in 2012.

In 1968, Elvis maneuvered a deal with NBC that committed the network to both finance a theatrical feature and broadcast a Christmas special.

Recorded in late June, the special, called simply "Elvis", aired on December 3, 1968. Later known as the '68 Comeback Special, the show featured lavishly staged studio productions as well as songs performed with a band in front of a small audience—Presley's first live performances since 1961.

The live segments saw Presley clad in tight black leather, singing and playing guitar in an uninhibited style reminiscent of his early rock and roll days. The show, NBC's highest rated that season, captured 42 percent of the total viewing audience.

Jon Landau of Eye magazine had remarked, "There is something magical about watching a man who has lost himself find his way back home. He sang with the kind of power people no longer expect of rock 'n' roll singers. He moved his body with a lack of pretension and effort that must have made Jim Morrison green with envy." 1. Hi. First of all, to keep this comment on topic, that's a really neat Elvis Presley one sixth! That's probably the best head sculpt of Presley's.

Speaking of head sculpts, I recently acquired a Hot Toys Chris Redfield head sculpt but the size is somewhat small. I tried googling, but alas, nothing came up as to what's the true size of a 1/6 head sculpt.

If you happen to own a Chris Redfield Hot Toys, could you give me the measurement of the head? Mine is 4 inches from chin tip to hair tip.

Thank you and Happy Christmas Eve!

  2. sorry but i don't own a Chris Redfield figure :( perhaps someone who has one might care to comment. i did measure the head sculpts of some of my other 1/6 figures and most of the heads are about 4.5cm (1.75") from head to chin and some even slightly bigger. that does make it seem like Chris Redfield has a rather small head at only 4cm :(
