TED movie 1/6 action figures (almost)

Ted (stylized as ted) is a 2012 American comedy film, directed, produced, and co-written by Seth MacFarlane (the creator of "family guy"), who stars in it with Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. The supporting cast includes Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, Jessica Stroup, and Patrick Warburton. Ted is about John Bennett's teddy bear becoming a fully sentient being in 1985 and growing up with him as his best friend "forever".

The film received generally favorable reviews. For its opening day in the United States and Canada, Ted scored one of the best R-rated comedy debuts ever since The Hangover with an estimated $20.2 million. As of September 12, 2012, Ted has earned $394,945,545, of which $216,958,485 were in the United States and Canada and $177,987,060 in foreign countries.

Ted is funny and quite entertaining and I certainly enjoyed the bromance between Mark Walberg's John Bennett and Seth MacFarlane's Ted. Giovanni Ribisi's role as Donny, who idolized Ted as a child, and shows interest in possessing him is a hoot to watch. It's quite funny when you think back about 2012 and discover that men went to watch a movie about a teddy bear and women went to watch a movie about strippers (Magic Mike). What a reversal of roles :)

As I was watching the movie (rated M18 in Singapore) with my lovely wife (the usher had to do a double-take to see if she was really above 18 haha), I couldn't help but remember I had put aside a 1/6 scale Planet of the Apes Mark Walberg 12-inch figure somewhere so it was photo-shoot time when I got home. The closest 1/6 teddy bear looking figure I could find was Wicket the Ewok from Star Wars. Close enough haha

Now for a little trivia: At one point in the movie, Ted mentions 9/11. 'Mark Wahlberg' and Seth MacFarlane both narrowly missed being on the planes that hit the World Trade Center. Wahlberg was booked on American Airlines Flight 11 but decided to drive up to New York and fly to California later. McFarlane was scheduled on the same flight but arrived to gate ten minutes late and was unable to board. He was sitting in the airport when he saw that his plane had hit the North Tower of the World trade center.
