HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
continued from previous post...
Lara Croft is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the Square Enix (previously Eidos Interactive) video game series Tomb Raider. She is presented as a beautiful, intelligent, and athletic English archaeologist-adventuress who ventures into ancient, hazardous tombs and ruins around the world. Created by a team at UK developer Core Design that included Toby Gard, the character first appeared in the 1996 video game Tomb Raider. (source: wiki)
Lara Croft has also appeared in video game sequels, printed adaptations, a series of animated short films, feature films (portrayed by Angelina Jolie), and merchandise related to the series. Lara Croft is depicted as an athletic woman; she has brown eyes and hair, frequently kept in a plait or ponytail. The character's classic costume is a turquoise sleeveless tank top, light brown shorts, calf-high boots, and long white socks. Accessories include fingerless gloves, a backpack, a utility belt with holsters on either side, and two pistols.
This is the recently released Flirty Girl Collectibles FCS2012-2 1/6th Scale Female Character Set for building / kitbashing your own 12-inch female action figure. Flirty Girl Collectibles FCS2012-2 1/6th Scale Female Character Set includes: Highly Detailed 1/6 scale Female Head Sculpt, Dark Brown Faux Leather Jacket, Turquoise sleeveless swimsuit, Khaki / Tan Shorts, Black Faux Leather Belt, Black Faux Leather double pistol holsters, Silver pistols (x 2), Faux Leather Backpack, Knife, Knife Sheath, White Sock sleeves, Faux Leather Boots with Laces (Lug sole boot / feet design). Scroll down to see pictures.
Flirty Girl packaging box is simple enough. Inside the box contains all the items as listed above plus an all-important assembly guide for the double pistol holster. The items for the double pistol holster and belt all come loose including the buckles and what-not so you have to put it together to complete the look. The pictures definitely helped in the process.
Here are some of the items from the Flirty Girl Collectibles FCS2012-2 1/6th Scale Female Character Set all laid out for inspection. The parts missing from the picture below are the belt and pistol holsters with the loose buckles and straps. That require some assembling. The snake looking thing on the right of the picture is not a snake for diorama purposes but Lara Croft's plaited ponytail.
Here's a close look at the two 1/6 scale pistols included with this Flirty Girls Female Character set. In the 2008 film "Wanted", Fox (played by Angelina Jolie) packs a custom Safari Arms Matchmaster 1911 clone with a Wilson 10 round magazine, Parrish 1911 Bushing Compensator (which would cause a muzzle flash that would likely blind her in low-light situations), engraved ivory grips, and custom engraved slide throughout the film. The official website of the film describes: "Fox's weapon of choice is a custom .45 caliber SAFARI MATCHMASTER semi automatic pistol. Although she prefers its lightweight versatility, she is a virtuoso with any firearm which exists". These two pistols look exactly like the ones Fox used in the "Wanted" movie :)
Flirty Girl Collectibles has included a 1/6 scale Knife and Knife Sheath as part of their set. It's a nice touch :) There's also the Dark Brown Faux Leather Jacket, Faux Leather Backpack and Faux Leather Boots with Laces (Lug sole boot / feet design)
Time to play dress-up now. The 1/6 scale female head sculpt of Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft first goes on the Phicen Limited Large Bust Seamless Female Body (Tan) which was reviewed in the previous post. Then the Turquoise sleeveless swimsuit is slipped on. It was pretty cold when all this was happening LOL
Here's how the Flirty Girls 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft female head sculpt looks on the Phicen Limited Large Bust Seamless Female Body (Tan) with turquoise swimsuit.
And here's the view from the back.
Now here's a picture with the Khaki / Tan Shorts and sock sleeves put on. With the light brown shorts on, she looks like she's wearing a turquoise sleeveless tank top which is Lara Croft's classic costume. The reason she's wearing sock sleeves and not socks is because the 1/6 scale boots included with this set are boot-feet i.e. the Faux Leather Boots with Laces come with Lug sole boot / feet design
Here's the Phicen Limited 12-inch Large Bust Tan Skin Seamless Female Body wearing the classic Lara Croft costume of a turquoise sleeveless tank top, light brown shorts, calf-high boots and long white socks. She wears a utility belt with holsters on either side, and two pistols.

Inspired by pop artist Neneh Cherry and comic book character Tank Girl, Lead graphic artist Toby Gard experimented with different designs, including a muscular woman and a Nazi-like militant. He settled on a tough South American woman with a braid named Laura Cruz. Eidos management preferred a more "UK friendly" name, and selected Lara Croft from similar-sounding British names found in an English telephone directory. Along with the name change, the character's backstory was altered to incorporate a British origin.
Here are some close-up shots / pictures / images of Flirty Girls 1/6 scale Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft female head sculpt. She certainly has a pair of BIG eyes ;p

When Angelina Jolie was cast for the role of Lara Croft, she braided her hair and used minimal padding to increase her bust a cup size to 36D for the role. She felt that Croft's video game proportions were unrealistic, and wanted to avoid showing such proportions to young girls. Jolie trained rigorously for the action scenes required for the role.
Her training focused on practising the physical skills necessary to perform the film's stunts. She worked with guns, did her own bungee jumping, and manoeuvring with the braid. Director Simon West had not anticipated that Jolie would do her own stunts, and was impressed, as was stunt coordinator Simon Crane, by the effort she put into them.
Angelina Jolie reprised her role for a sequel, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Directed by Jan de Bont, the 2003 film focused more on the character's development. De Bont praised Jolie's understanding of Lara Croft, as well as the character's strength, saying he "hates women in distress."
I think Flirty Girls Collectibles managed to capture Angelina Jolie's likeness rather well in 1/6 scale
The problem with the female head sculpt was the skin tone which was rather dark / tanned. Hence a tan female body is necessary. Large bust is a plus as that was the original intended design for the video game ;p
And now let's examine the 1/6 scale double pistol holster and the calf-high Faux Leather Boots with Laces. A knife and sheath is attached to her left boot as well.
I wanted to post these pictures of the Flirty Girl Collectibles 1/6th scale Lara Croft double pistol holsters in close-up views to show how the belt and holster straps are assembled as these parts all come loose and you are required to put it all together.
The 1/6 calf-high Faux Leather Boots with Laces are also very nicely detailed and made. They certainly helped to complete the look.
Here's a look at the 1/6 scale pistol in the holster. I think it's a nice touch by Flirty Girl Collectibles to include these custom .45 caliber SAFARI MATCHMASTER semi automatic pistols used by Angelina Jolie as Fox in "Wanted". You can also see the knife in the sheath secured to her left boot.

Hey Alex, cool you got yours too. Just received my set by Chad of SMcG customs. I went for the medium bust special skin phicen body, check my facebook site for comparison. Putting on the straps was quite tedious! Cheers and thanks for your in depth review!
