Like I said before, I'm glad I'm not a hardcore die-hard everything-must-have Iron Man completist (i.e. complete list) collector ;p otherwise, I'll be thinking of ways to rob a bank LOL can you feel the "heat"? So many Iron Man armor suits coming out in Iron Man 3 and the word is Hot Toys intend to produce and release them all!
This is so insulting regarding their clients. The quality they have reached assembled an unspoken strong community who are regular clients(each for different personal collector reasons).
ReplyDeleteNot only they rise their prices not always with good justification (but they are free to do it) but they tap into shameful marketing places.
This is a previous weathered armor+ newly develloped headsculpt for iron man 3+ an original base.
How classy would it have been to continue their path on rising quality (slight rise in price wouldn't bother me so much)and parallel to that propose things like this base and other things they add to resell previous items just as loose parts sold for smaller reasonable prices. That would be a great company in every term.
Hot Toys know there is a huge demand out there and people are willing to purchase.. so why not. I will skip this. I have decided not to buy IM3 stuff too. With all the die-cast, the price is 300 over per piece. Too much for me. I'm sure there will be people collecting all.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, positively no reason to get this. I have the previous Mvii on preorder, and have the BD-Miii adorning my shelf. Whether this is a good idea to release this figure or not remians to be seen.
ReplyDeleteWith the potentially all the IM3 releases looming, previews of the Whiplash Suit, and Hot Toys probably conjuring ways to wrestle the green from our pockets (or whatever color your money is) with "variations" of each and every Suit, a collector MUST pick and choose.
I'm sure these releases WON'T be heavy on accessories or extras but I'm sure they'll set new records and punch through the pricing ceiling.
I for one plan on getting all the Ironman incarnations from IM3, so most likely other Companies will lose my business.
What might be irritating some people is the first Mvii hasn't even dropped yet and they spring this..... Frst things first Hot Toys!
At the end of the day you buy what you want and skip what you think is pricey, gimmicky, or forced. And yes, THIS release is all of thee above.
IM has become HT's version of the Rocky franchise. Very hit and miss and a little long in the tooth. I will get the Whiplash armor figure because it is different and cool but will pass on most other IM releases. I'm just hoping somebody picks up the license for the new Sin City movie. I'm ready for something different.
ReplyDeleteI wish I wasn't such a (beep)ing Hot Toys Ironman fan. At $300+ per figure this is a major financial investment to undertake. When is all said and done this third movie alone will cost a couple thousand to complete, and Hot Toys won't budge on their pricing. (BEEEEEEEP)!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish they would've included this Tony Snark head sculpt with their MMS Mark VII figure. Other than that, there's nothing in this edition that really stands out to me. I do want to own at least one Iron Man Hot Toys figure (not counting War Machine/Iron Patriot), so I'm going to pre-order the earlier version since it comes with more accessories.
ReplyDeleteMovie Promos are just an excuse to charge HIGH for a limited run figure and then let the secondary market fight over it. Bad situation for hard core Iron Man collectors who must have at least one of everything (the "completist") but doesn't make a difference to others who couldn't care less, including me ;p
