Having spent his gestation in a laboratory, Damian was raised by his mother until ten years of age, at which point she left him in the care of his father, who had not been aware of his son's existence until that point in time. Damian is violent and self-important, and was trained by the League of Assassins, learning to kill at a young age. After the events of Batman R.I.P. and Batman: Battle for the Cowl, Damian has taken up the identity of Robin, becoming the fifth and current person to use the Boy Wonder's identity.
This is the latest DC Comics Damian Wayne Robin ARTFX+ Statue to be previewed by Kotobukiya, the Japanese company that has been hard at work bringing all the DC Comics characters to life in statue form. They have done tremendous work and the statues are nice but I'm very much an action figure kind of guy. If it's not articulated, then I don't want it. Having said that, I do have some statues in my rather large toy collection, and three of those statues are from Kotobukiya - the Kotobukiya Marvel Bishoujo collection 1/7th scale X-Force Psylocke ninja 8-inch Statue (Reviewed HERE and HERE), Kotobukiya DC Comics Bishoujo Wonder Woman (Reviewed HERE and HERE) and Kotobukiya Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition 14 cm (5.5") Statue (posted HERE). My favorite Batman statue is still the DC Direct "Batman: Black and White" Mike Mignola statue (posted in my toy blog HERE).

Father and son together again
Here's something I found on the internet: The Evolution of Robin. The original Boy Wonder Robin was Dick Grayson and the mantle was then passed on to Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, all of them taking on other roles as they grew. That's quite a lot of Robin.

Oh man, Robin has that exact smug arrogant look from the comics that you just want to smack off his face. What an excellent job by the sculptor!
ReplyDeleteYup! I just want to go over there and slap that smug right off his face LOL
