Pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles

The Matrix is a 1999 American-Australian science fiction action film written and directed by The Wachowskis, starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. It depicts a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called "the Matrix", created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies' heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Computer programmer "Neo" learns this truth and is drawn into a rebellion against the machines, which involves other people who have been freed from the "dream world". The success of the film led to the release of two feature film sequels, both written and directed by the Wachowskis, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

The Armored Personnel Unit (APU) was a hydraulic power battle suit designed for combat and were a primary line of defense for Zion. Its main armament are two 30mm rapid-fire cannons attached to its arms. All motion of the APU is controlled by the operator's hands, including its legs. They made their brief first appearance in The Matrix Reloaded, but were seen more prominently in The Matrix Revolutions.

Along with Matrix APU collectible and pilot figure, we will have deluxe box set, which will be available exclusively at threezerostore and it will consist of standard APU and pilot in addition to the exclusive Ammo Loader (with two additional boxes of ammo cases) and ground crew figure. Exclusive Ammo Loader deluxe box set will cost 430USD with worldwide shipping included in the price.

Armored Personnel Unit with pilot specs: APU stands ~13.5 inches (34cm) tall with fully posable action joints, articulated arms, legs & toes plus highly detailed mechanical design as seen in the movie. With movable upper shoulder pistons for arms posing, movable legs with retractable pistons for different combat pose and to simulate APU movements depicted in the movie, realistic metal spring & rubber hose throughout figure arms and legs. Includes fully posable pilot figure, which can be positioned inside APU cockpit. Pilot figure comes with detailed fabric clothing. 2 ammo case included. Realistic paint application to highlight all the details as seen in the movie. Both arms cannons light up (AG1 X 6 button cell batteries needed for the light-up feature and not included)

APU armor is ironically minimal, favoring speed and firepower over bulky protection. The reason being that in all likelyhood armor would only mean a slower death for the pilot if machines disabled his APU. This separation of man and machine with a lacking cockpit is also symbolic of who is in control and who is not.

APU ammunition is reloaded by hand with the help of special crane from the back. To reload the cannons, a runner with a cart loaded with ammo would have to run out in the middle of the battle to jam the boxes of ammo into the APU. After the reload process is finished, bullet will be loaded to the gun via a version of flexible ammunition belt feed. When the ammo is running out the pilot is trained to pack their gun into their holster, reattaching the belt feed automatically once the ammunition become available.

Ammo Loader (exclusive to threezerostore deluxe box set) specs: Height: 88mm; Length: 158mm; Width: 85.5mm. Realistic rubber tyres with free wheel function, highly detailed mechanical design as seen in the movie. Manually extendable loading ammo platform imitates the movements depicted in the movie (extended height: ~240mm / 9.4 inches). Fully posable ground crew figure comes with detailed fabric clothing. 2 ammo case included, realistic paint application to highlight all the details as captured in the movie.

  1. Sweet figure Alex, will definitely be ordering. I'm still hoping someone does a 1:6 Exosuit from District 9 and the mech from Sucker Punch...
