The Assault on Arius' Massion!
Having covered the box packaging and contents as well as posting pictures of topless Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Matrix from Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS276 1/6th scale "Commando" John Matrix Collectible Figure boxed set in my first part action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE, let's see how the 12-inch figure (this Arnold is 32cm in height, taller than your average "Joe") looks with everything loaded on him, and I do mean EVERYTHING. This Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix from the 1985 "Commando" film comes with a lot of weapons and accessories, lots more than many of the figures Hot Toys has released.
The picture above shows Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) 12-inch figure taking aim as he prepares to fire the 1/6th scale M202A1 FLASH (FLame Assault SHoulder Weapon), an American rocket launcher designed to replace the World War II vintage flamethrowers (such as the M1 and the M2) that remained the military's standard incendiary devices well into the 1960s. The M202 is based on the prototype XM191 napalm rocket launcher that saw extensive testing in the Vietnam War. Be sure to check out all the other weapons this figure comes with.

Here you can see Hot Toys MMS276 1/6th scale Arnold Schwarzenegger as "Commando" John Matrix 12-inch Figure fully loaded with all the weapons and accessories he comes with, including one Valmet M78/83 machine gun with a synthetic thumbhole "Dragunov Style" stock and removable magazine (the Valmet is a Finnish light machine gun similar in appearance to the RPK), Uzi submachine gun with extendable stock and removable magazine, Remington 870 shotgun with a specialized under-barrel laser sight, one matte stainless steel Desert Eagle Mark I pistol with removable magazine and working slide in drop-down right thigh holster, two M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mines with two remote detonators packed in the bags meant for carrying them, M202A1 FLASH (FLame Assault SHoulder Weapon) rocket launcher, a pair of green binoculars, black and green-camouflaged colored tactical vest with three (3) M67 hand grenades and ammunition pouches as well as sheaths for the three knives (two are throwing knives), and 12 shotgun shells
Hot Toys developed a new seamless muscular upper body for this "Commando" John Matrix 12-inch action figure. You cannot see any visible joint lines on the arms which does have some articulation but not a lot. The debate on realism vs articulation in action figure rages on. Statues are stiff and cast in stone with no articulation whatsoever so action figures are supposed to be designed to hold multiple action poses. But with Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series, we get to see how realistic and life-like these 1/6th scale figures can get to looking like the real thing and bare arms with visible joint lines just don't cut it so Hot Toys has opted for seamless arms with some articulation so that John Matrix can still wield his weapons and fight the bad guys. I'm not complaining at all :)
Valmet M78/83 machine gun with a synthetic thumbhole "Dragunov Style" stock and removable magazine (the Valmet is a Finnish light machine gun similar in appearance to the RPK), and Remington 870 shotgun with a specialized under-barrel laser sight slung on John Matrix's back.

Here he's seen with the Remington 870 shotgun with a specialized under-barrel laser sight, not to be confused with an extended magazine tube. The laser sight is specifically made for the Remington 870 shotgun by the Laser Products Corporation (later Surefire) laser sight.
During his final assault Matrix also carries several M67 hand grenades. He is seen tying these to his vest by the pin, presumably to be able to pull the pin and toss them with one hand. This is a very bad way to carry grenades and anyone with basic military training will agree, this is NOT how to carry them. When carried by the pin, several safety hazards are present.
12 shotgun shells (removable) are stored on John Matrix's tactical assault vest, along with the combat knife in sheath which is also removable as the sheath is attached via velcro onto the vest.

And here's Hot Toys MMS276 John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) 12-inch figure again with the 1/6th scale M202A1 FLASH (FLame Assault SHoulder Weapon), a four-tube rocket launcher that can load 66 mm incendiary rockets. The M74 rockets are equipped with M235 warheads, containing approximately 1.34 pounds (0.61 kg) of an incendiary agent.
Check out the two throwing knives in sheaths at the back of John Matrix's assault vest.
John Matrix keeps his matte stainless steel Desert Eagle stored in a right thigh drop-down holster when not in use.
