Have you seen the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ TV spot where a totally badass First Order Stormtrooper goes toe-to-toe with Finn who wields a lightsaber? This particular “Riot Control” Stormtrooper has been replicated and miniaturised in true Figuarts style, and the dynamism of this ridiculously articulated figure just makes it look so cool.
The roughly 6-inch (15cm) tall trooper doesn’t come with a blaster like the other Figuarts trooper. He's only equipped with just the Z6 Riot Control Baton (which also appears to be lightsaber-resistant) and Riot shield. The baton has sliding parts to replicate the action of it extending and electrifying whenever the First Order Stormtrooper goes into battle, and you have to admit: this is just an extremely nifty-looking action figure.
Now I just want the 1:6 scale version!
Let's hope Hot Toys don't make it a Toy Fair Exclusive with light-up baton.

Very cool indeed. The first picture kinda reminds me of the patlabor's ingram. Lets cross our fingers it gets made in 1/6 scale too alex.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if the baton extends or swings open. There's a guy online that has made a replica with PVC pipe and his swing open like a switch blade. I've looked at the trailer over and over again and can't tell if it extends out or swings open. any help on this? I think it would be cooler if it extended. I'm interested in making a similar one for cosplay. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to swing out because of the pivot point located near the tip of the baton. It's the same in all the pictures.
