My latest toy haul (March 2016): VTS Toys 1/6th scale Agent Hunter 12-inch action figure (most likely inspired by Tom Cruise' character as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the "Mission Impossible" films), Play Toy P007 1/6th scale Maintenance Technician 12-inch action figure (who looks a lot like Tom Cruise as Commander Jack Harper in the 2013 post-apocalyptic science fiction film OBLIVION and the Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Movie Realization Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure. I'm quite the Tom Cruise fan, so much so I even have a "Tom Cruise" label on my toy blog for all the Tom Cruise related action figures. That being said, I also have labels for Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp and Harrison Ford because there are so many 1:6 scale figures released with these movie stars' looks / head sculpts. These stars usually play "action heroes" in films, hence action figures of them are produced for the 12-inch figure collectible market. There are a lot of them now than when I first started collecting 1:6 scale action figures way back in 1994.
The Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Movie Realization Star Wars action figures have been rather popular and I for one am certainly hooked on them. I don't collect smaller sized figures because I like the realism found in 1:6 scale figures but I just find the whole concept of Star Wars characters being given a feudal Japan twist very refreshing, especially since the designs are really nice and well executed. I have already reviewed the Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization 7-inch tall Ashigaru Stormtrooper action figure on my toy blog HERE and HERE, followed by the Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization 7-inch tall Ronin Kenzan Boba Fett action figure review HERE and HERE. I have also gotten the Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization Samurai Taisho Darth Vader 18 cm action figure (see my October 2015 toy haul post HERE) but have yet to post pictures.

Oblivion is a 2013 post-apocalyptic science fiction film based on Joseph Kosinski's unpublished graphic novel of the same name. The film is about a future in which the Earth has been mostly destroyed by aliens, and humans are relocating to a colony off earth. One of the last humans left on Earth is Jack Harper (Tom Cruise), a technician with a memory wipe who is troubled by dreams of an unknown woman. After a spacecraft crashes with the woman from his dreams on board, and Harper finds other humans alive in the ruins of the cities, Harper begins to doubt the truth of the mission he is on.
This is the Play Toy P007 1/6th scale Maintenance Technician 12-inch action figure. The head sculpt, outfit and weapons all look a lot like they came out of the movie. I guess you could say this Technician is from the year 2077. Check out the preview pictures HERE
Play Toy P007 1/6th scale Maintenance Technician 12-inch figure aka Oblivion's Jack Harper comes with: Tom Cruise Head Sculpt (see picture below), Male Body, Goggles, Pants, Jacket, Boots, Belt, Rifle, Sling, Pistol, Holster, Hand Assortment
Next up is the VTS Toys 1/6th scale Agent Hunter 12-inch figure. Not wanting to raise any alarms, the box packaging does not give any hint of what's inside or who's inside. VTS is the movie arm of DAM Toys, the company which produces excellent 12-inch military figures as well as the 1:6 scale figures from their Gangster Series. I have quite a few of their action figures and I like the high quality they used in making their figures.
VTS Toys (VM-012) 1/6th scale Agent Hunter 12-inch figure (Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt) comes with real like head sculpt, 12-inch action body, one (1) pair of hands, tactical gloved hands x 3. Costume / uniform consists of: black top / shirt, black jeans / pants, long sleeve tee, BDU belt, combat boots, tactical body armor / assault vest.
You can compare the VTS Agent Hunter 1:6 scale Tom Cruise head sculpt with the one released by Play Toy in the pictures posted above.
The weapons and accessories to equip this 1/6th scale Agent Hunter 12-inch figure are laid out in the bottom tray. All these should go on nicely on the figure. You can check out the preview pictures HERE
Last but not least, a sneak peek at the Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Movie Realization Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure. Inspired by the Imperial Sandtroopers seen in the Star Wars movies, these Sandtroopers of feudal Japan come with a special backpack designed with meticulous detail and finished with a rusty look. The Flexible material makes posing the Sandtrooper holding a firearm a breeze and the boxed set includes six additional interchangeable hands, Blaster rifles (small and large) and Japanese katana set.
Action Figure reviews to come shortly so stay tuned :)
I have the Oblivion figure coming in on Friday. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but damnit I'm so excited to finally have this figure!!
