continued from previous toy blog post (action figure review II)...
Looks like there aren't any Iron Man figures previewed at the latest SDCC2016. Although we were already told that one of the toy fair / convention exclusives would be an Iron Man figure from the "Iron Man 3" film - reported earlier HERE.
This is my third part review of the recently released Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series Diecast MMS300-D11 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV 33cm Tall Collectible Figure (still available at Sideshow HERE) which is quite exceptional. This post will cover the other included accessories that are packed together with the figure.
Seen in the pictures above and below is Hot Toys Iron Man Mark XLV with the pair of palms that come with real-like thrust fire effect. There are also similar real-like thrust fire effects for his feet but unlike the ones for the feet which can be attached and removed, the palms come with the effect moulded on and is non-detachable. However, the thrust fire effect allows the LED lights to shine through for added impact.

The movie-accurate Iron Man Mark XLV Collectible Figure is highly detailed and sophisticatedly crafted based on the image of the armor in the Marvel Studios "Avengers: Age of Ultron" film featuring a meticulously sculpted armored body, specially applied metallic red, gold and silver colored paint with weathered effects, LED light-up Arc Reactor with hexagonal-shaped indent on chest, and a specially designed diorama base with a detachable damaged Ultron Sentry (Prime)!
Two laser beam effects are also included for attaching to Mark XLV forearm laser weapons. They looked like chopsticks in the packaging box. The laser weapons are hidden in the forearms and you have to pull it up from the arms to attach the laser beam effect.
Hot Toys "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Iron Man Mark XLV 12-inch (33cm) Tall Collectible Figure comes with interchangeable battle damaged chest armor. The inner chest details can be seen when the chest armor is removed.
Because the Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series Diecast MMS300-D11 "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV 33cm Tall Collectible Figure already comes with some weathering, the interchangeable battle damaged chest armor doesn't look out of place as compared with an armor suit that comes looking really new and clean. I am in favor of Hot Toys producing a weathered armor suit as it has the used look which makes it look more realistic rather than the clean glossy look which makes it look like it's meant only for the showroom. Plus a clean look is harder to maintain whereas with a weathered look, the figure can be excused if it has a few more dinks or paint chips.
