"Hasta la vista, baby"

"Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)" occurred eleven years after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) destroyed the original Terminator that was programmed to kill her. Upon arriving in the present (believed to be 1995 in the film), the Terminator Model T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) enters a biker bar and takes the clothes and firearm off a biker. As he prepares to leave on the biker's Harley Fatboy, the T-800 is confronted by the bar owner, who fires a warning shot from his sawed-off Winchester 1887. The Terminator cooly walks over and snatches the gun from his hand.

The sawed-off Winchester 1887 was the gun that appeared in the movie posters

The movie was made for approximately US$100 million and at the time was the most expensive movie ever made. It was a box-office success, earning US$204.8 million in the United States alone, and was the highest grossing film of 1991. The original Terminator grossed only US$38 million in the US (although it was made for just US$6.5 million) in its theatrical run, making Terminator 2's 434% increase a record for a sequel. This is my 1/6 scale version of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator Model T-800 armed with his sawed-off Winchester 1887

Don't mess with the Governator!

The outfit is from Popsalute except the jacket which is from Hot Toys. Popsalute released the Terminator from the third movie, "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)" - reviewed here.

Instead of "I'll be back" - see previous post, John Connor (Edward Furlong) taught the Terminator to say "Hasta la vista, baby" (Spanish for "See you later"). The Terminator used it later upon shattering the frozen T-1000 (Robert Patrick) with a gunshot. It became a world-famous catch phrase associated with the movie, just as "I'll be back" was famous with the first. In T2, the Terminator did say,"Stay here, I'll be back" to Sarah and John Connor during the escape from the Cyberdyne building. He left and returned driving a truck through the front door of the building, rescuing them.

Three versions of the Winchester Model 1887 were used during filming. The first was the iconic "Rosebox Shotgun" with a sawed off barrel and stock and the trigger guard cut out. This is the gun seen through most of the film. The second version had a large lever loop so that the gun could be flip cocked one-handed while riding a motorcycle. The third gun was the rubber prop gun for stunt work. The Terminator keeps the gun as his main weapon for a good portion of the film until he comes upon Sarah Connor's (Linda Hamilton) armory, where more superior weapons were at his disposal.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's head sculpt by Popsalute

Without the shades. IMHO one of the best likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger

From playing a bad a$$ villain to protector and hero, Arnold's the Terminator appeared on both lists of The American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Screen Heroes and Villains of all time.

Also covered "Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)" in an earlier post with Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) by Sideshow - see review here

  3. Hi Alex, love the figure!

Do you know anywhere that I might be able to get hold of the 1:6 scale Winchester Model 1887 "Rosebox Shotgun" seperately? I'm after one for my own custom model that I'm working on.

  4. Hi urza, besides this Winchester, Sideshow also produced a 1/6 scale Winchester when they released their Terminator some time back. I think the best place to find these would be e-bay. here are some sites for 1/6 scale weapons
