Loading Toys 22 SAS Regiment REVIEW

The Special Air Service or SAS is a special forces regiment of the British Army that has served as a model for the special forces of many other countries all over the world. While the Special Air Service traces its origins to 1941 and the Second World War, it gained fame and recognition worldwide after successfully assaulting the Iranian Embassy in London and rescuing hostages during the 1980 Iranian Embassy Siege, lifting the regiment from obscurity outside the military establishment. The Special Air Service comprises 22 Special Air Service Regiment of the Regular Army, 21 Special Air Service Regiment and 23 Special Air Service Regiment provided by the Territorial Army. It is tasked with special operations in wartime, and primarily counter-terrorism in peacetime. However, the SAS is "22 Squadron", usuallly pronounced "two two".

This is the Loading Toys 22 SAS Regiment Tactical Clothing set. The outfit was based on the character of Captain John Price from the "Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" video game released in 2007. The idea was based on 3 of the missions: "F.N.G.", "Crew Expendable" and "Mile High Club".

This Loading Toys 22 SAS Regiment Tactical Clothing boxed set comprises SAS helmet, S10 gas mask, walkie-talkie radio with throat mic, water proof BDU, tactical vest, bullet proof vest, elbow pads, knee pads, tactical boots, tactical Gloves, M911 Pistol with pistol lanyard, pistol holster, MP5K with 551 holo sight, short silencer, long silencer, MG Sling.

NOTE: This set doesn't come with a 12-inch body and 1/6 scale head sculpt although Loading Toys did release a Primo HS based on Captain John Price.

For those not familiar with the video game, you'll probably be asking,"Why would you wear all black and then go with a tan holster and vest on a night mission?" This is only to make it faithful to the game setting. As for me, I'll most likely switch out the vest and holster for all black ones :)

Scroll down for more close-up pictures of this Loading Toys 22 SAS Regiment Tactical Clothing set. Great for kitting out a 1/6 scale SAS 12-inch figure or kitbashing as Black is always a good option to go since black never goes out of fashion in the military fashion. It's always good to wear black, especially at night.

The MP5K with 551 holo sight is NICE. It comes with option of a short or long silencer / suppressor

Point to note: The boots are in fact "boot feet" i.e. you cannot put the figure's feet in. It comes with a connector for you to connect to the figure's legs, just like how it is with almost all of the Hot Toys 1/6 scale 12-inch figures.

  2. IS there a direct link to trading toys? Or is it easier to purchase through a third-party dealer (I live in the US)?

Also, this gear will fit on a normal HT True Type body?

Sorry for the silly questions. I'm new to this and this will be my first figure and gear purchased separately.

    Cheers!

  3. Hi Matt

I got mine locally through my dealer and even they are now out of stock regarding this boxed set.

    Perhaps you can try http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/default.aspx

They are in the states and they have stock for other Loading Toys products. Perhaps you can ask them.

The outfit is designed for 12-inch figure bodies and it'll fit the HT True Type body. The boot feet were designed like Hot Toys' boots.

No worries about the questions :) We all have to start somewhere

    CHEERS
