Review Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: 1/6th The Fantasy Warrior costume set for 12" figures

continued from previous post...

This is the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures combined with the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body as the set does not come with a body. This is so that you can have the option to use other muscular bodies of other brands but I think this works best with the KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body as the KP02XXL was designed for this set.

Conan the Barbarian is a 1982 sword and sorcery / adventure film directed and co-written by John Milius. It is based on stories by Robert E. Howard, a pulp fiction writer of the 1930s, about the adventures of the eponymous character in a fictional pre-historic world of dark magic and savagery. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones, and tells the story of a young barbarian (Schwarzenegger) who seeks vengeance for the death of his parents at the hands of Thulsa Doom (Jones), the leader of a snake cult.

The Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures is most likely inspired by the Conan character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Conan the Barbarian". The outfit Arnold wears in the sequel is quite faithfully replicated here in 1/6 scale and I'm very glad for the chance and opportunity to own this figure. Finally I have a Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan figure to put next to the Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator figures and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dutch figure plus the soon-to-be-released Arnold Schwarzenegger John Matrix from "Commando" figure (posted earlier HERE).

The Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures comes in a blister pack card with all the stuff packed nicely inside the plastic bubble. At the back of the card there's a list of the items featured: new long hair head sculpt, die-cast sword (16.5 cm long), leather shirt, leather armor, fur skirt, fur scabbard, pants, pouch and fur boots.

Here are all the items from the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set all laid out (minus the 1/6 scale head sculpt which has been attached to the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition - see previous post)

Here's a look at the die-cast sword removed from the fur scabbard

The 1/6 scale die-cast sword which comes with this Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set has very nice details.

Here's the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body partially dressed with pants, boots and fur skirt. The fit is rather good and it all looks nice on the figure.

Here's Conan the Barbarian with his leather shirt / top worn over the pants and fur skirt.

Now Conan is fully dressed for action and adventure! The thin black straps included are for tying up the right wrist gauntlet and the longer straps are for the boots. The straps for the boots go under the boot and should go up to almost knee height as seen in the screen grabs of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan in "Conan the Barbarian". Like I said, the outfit is very detailed and well produced with movie-accuracy.

Here's 1/6 scale Conan the Barbarian wielding his sword - all made possible with the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set for 12-inch figures and the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition 12-inch figure body. It all looks very nice when it comes together :)

Here are some close-up pictures taken of the 1/6 scale long hair head sculpt which is included with the Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set. It certainly does bear a strong resemblance to a young Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan in his break-out role. Scroll down to see the turnaround views. Check out those nice muscular arms of the Kaustic Plastik KP02XXL Heroik Muscle Body XXL Limited Edition figure.

The Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: 1/6th The Fantasy Warrior fabric and leather outfit is very well produced and fits the figure perfectly, giving the figure a truly authentic look that stays very true to the film. I really like it!

Check out he fur boots with the straps tied up. Looks rather nice, doesn't it?

The leather armor vest has nice details, especially at the back

Overall, a very nice outfit set! After all, the figure is never meant to look pristine and high society-like. It's Conan the Barbarian from an imagined time when people wore rugged clothes and fought epic battles so this Kaustic Plastik XXL Project Set 1: The Fantasy Warrior 1/6th scale fabric costume and accessories set does the job nicely. I highly recommend it :)
