Square Enix Play Arts Kai 1/7th scale DC Variant "Batman Timeless" Spartan Batman action figure

Subject to military drill from early manhood, the Spartans were one of the most feared military forces in the Greek world. At the height of Sparta's power – between the 6th and 4th centuries BC – it was commonly accepted that, "one Spartan was worth several men of any other state." The term "spartan" became synonymous with multiple meanings such as: fearlessness, harsh and cruel life, bland and lacking creativity, or simplicity by design.

What if Batman had chosen the Spartan symbol as his call to arms instead of the bat? OR what if Batman had lived during the period of the Spartans? Wonder no more.

Square Enix has released official photos of their Play Arts Kai DC Variant – Batman Timeless: Spartan Batman 1/7th scale action figure which is scheduled for release in March 2016. The figure will be priced at 14,800 Yen (about $123 USD), so expect it to be about $150 when pre-orders hit. The Spartan Batman includes a spear, a long sword, four daggers, a shield and a figure stand.

I'm really excited about this Spartan Batman 10-inch tall action figure. He looks really bada$$ (or is it "BATa$$" haha) and would certainly strike fear into the hearts of criminals and evil doers alike. Can't wait to add him to my growing Square Enix Play Arts Kai action figure collection :)

  1. This is really fantastic! I much prefer this incarnation over the Cowboy Batman from before. Maybe it would have been even more recognizable with a black or dark blue coloured cape and plume. THIS IS GOTHAAAM!
