Sideshow 1/6 Henry Jones Sr Review II

Continued from previous post

After having examined the 1/6 accessories and head sculpt of Sideshow Collectibles 1/6 scale 12-inch Henry Jones Sr (without hat, with hat and glasses) in the previous post, now let's see some pictures of a completely outfitted Professor Jones.

Steven Spielberg always wanted to make a Bond movie, but when that didn't materialize, he did Indiana Jones as a James-Bond type character. Having Sean Connery (who is the original James Bond), John Rhys-Davies (Bond ally), Alison Doody (Bond girl) and six former Bond stars in "The Last Crusade" was the closest he came to fulfilling his dream.






IMHO that is one FINE head sculpt of Sean Connery. The likeness and resemblance is all there - much better than that of Sideshow's interpretation of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".


His trademark briefcase is also very well produced, even if it's just a piece of molded plastic with faux-leather straps. It's made to look more real with the amazing weathering detail and paintwork.



Professor Henry Jones Sr with his all important Grail diary, practically his life's work and obsession. When he realizes that his new associate Elsa Schneider is a Nazi spy, Henry sends his Grail Diary to Indy in an attempt to keep its contents out of Nazi hands.



Too bad the Grail diary is also one piece of molded plastic. One day I might just decide to make myself a 1/6 scale diary with all the details. Afterall, there are enough resource materials available on the World Wide Web. So many wonderful projects to do when I finally have the time :)

This is the way Professor Jones preferred to carry his briefcase with umbrella/brolly tucked in. Sideshow got the scale right here, thank goodness.
