A totally different kind of auto cannon from that seen in the previous post.
This was the Hasbro G.I. Joe WWII US Navy Twin 40mm Anti-Aircraft Gun set released in the year 2000 (The Pearl Harbor war film directed by Michael Bay was released only in 2001. It featured a large ensemble cast, including Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Alec Baldwin, Jon Voight, Kate Beckinsale, Cuba Gooding Jr, Dan Aykroyd, Colm Feore, Mako, Tom Sizemore, Jaime King and Jennifer Garner.)
This detailed Twin Mount 40mm Anti-Aircraft Navy gunner model has 19-inch barrels, comes with shells, and rotates on its square base.
G.I. Joe comes with a helmet and a life-vest (and complete with a "USN" tattoo) and sits in the "pointer's seat."
The United States Navy's Bureau of Ordnance purchased a twin-mount air-cooled Bofors 40 mm anti-aircraft auto cannon directly from the Swedish firm, which arrived in New York on 28 August 1940.
This poseable, 11.5-inch-tall replica of the daring aerial specialist is designed to be durable as well as realistically styled and historically accurate.
The gun was quickly chosen as the Navy's standard anti-aircraft weapon.

ReplyDeleteawesome toy, dude
ReplyDeleteWoah! Thanks for the link Adrian :> Very NICE weathering, it makes the guns look even more REAL (which is why i wish i could paint just as well) altho' i think the Navy wouldn't let the guns rust till that condition coz the military always keep their things in shipshape Ha! Ha! Unless it's been abandoned, like some of the cannons in Fort Siloso Sentosa.
ReplyDeletethanks Asrul, glad you like it >_<
LOl...you do have a point there Alex.
