Review III: Hot Toys "Predators" Royce with AA-12 Shotgun

Royce: "This planet is a game reserve. And we're the game."

This is my third part review of the Hot Toys MMS "Predators" Royce 1/6 scale collectible 12-inch figure. Royce (Adrien Brody) carries an AA-12 automatic 12 Gauge shotgun throughout the movie. The AA-12 is fitted with a drum magazine loaded with Frag-12 rounds, as well as a Surefire M900 weapon tactical light foregrip. Before this "Predators (2010)" movie, I didn't even know that this gun existed. Now we are all the wiser for it.

Having seen this Hot Toys Royce wielding the smaller weapons like the two edged weapons / blades (1:6 scale combat knife and machete) he comes with as well as the modified M1911 pistol in the previous post, here's how he looks with the AA-12 shotgun.

This is a 1/6 scale Aitchisson Assault Shotgun or AA-12 automatic 12-Gauge shotgun. It is a shotgun that thinks it's a machine gun. Originally designed in 1972 and perfected around 2007 it has practically zero recoil and will fire a wide variety of ordnance (high explosive, etc) at a rate of 350 rounds a minute. It's in use with various law enforcement agencies and Special Forces but is not available to the wider public.

This Hot Toys 1/6 scale AA-12 comes with a removable drum magazine and rifle sling. Everything else is pretty much attached.

The ultra nice details of the AA-12, including a peek inside the chamber

Another close view of the Hot Toys 1/6 scale AA-12 shotgun (this time it's the left side of the weapon). Comes with a removable drum magazine. Also check out Royce's wrist watch. During Dragon Models DML reign, they almost always included a watch with the figure they were releasing. Hot Toys followed suit with their military figures but that novelty has since passed.

Royce: "We're being hunted. The cages, soldier, all of us. We were all brought here for the same purpose. This planet is a game preserve, and we're the game. In case you didn't notice, we just got flushed out. They sent the dogs in. Just like you would if you were stalking boar, shooting quail. They split us apart and they watched. Testing us."

And here's Hot Toys Royce collectible 12-inch figure with the axe as well as another roundup views of this exceptional Movie Masterpiece figure by Hot Toys.

Close-up of the axe accessory. Other accessories and weapons were covered in the previous posts HERE and HERE

And finally, a look at the nicely detailed boots that Royce comes with.

Isabelle: "What happened to you? What made you so fucked up?"
Royce: "There is no hunting like the hunting of a man. And those who've hunted armed men long enough, and like it, never really care for anything else thereafter."

  6. Nice pictures again! His gun was in the Modern Warfare 2 game.haha Was hoping Hot Toys would include more stuff though..but a lot of his stuff are in ebay individually, so cuts down the price if you need them.

  7. Yup! Some retailers actually make more money from selling the parts individually than as a boxed set as each part can command a much higher price loose than the complete boxed piece.

  11. It's always nice to see/hear/read about someone getting all excited about a toy/action figure :) that's what this hobby is all about. It's just sad when I read of people who choose to keep the figures inside the boxes and not taking them out to play. Woody and his buddies would be so disappointed.

  12. I hear you my friend. I was so eager to get this from AZTECA that he met me at work for lunch today. (of course I had to pay him off) but that was the fun in it, the anticipation of getting off of work and racing home to build this figure. It paid off for me as I had a few minutes of fun and the pictures show it. Just wait until I get him in some jungle terrain...oh it's on! I can't wait.
