Very Hot PMC (Version 4) & FBI Uniform Set PREVIEW

Here are just some teaser pictures of the Very Hot PMC (Private Military Contractor - a thin line exists between PMC and mercenaries) version 4 and FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation, sometimes Female Body Inspector - haha) uniform sets. Just the uniforms, folks, NO FIGURE (that means also NO head) ONLY the UNIFORM. The figures are only used for posing. Even after I write this, I'll get comments like "This head sculpt has been done before. Is it a rehash?", "This figure looks like that Soldier Story or Toys City figure - why is that?" Go figure (pun intended)

The 1:6 headsculpt Very Hot used here is from a previous Toys City release. It is from the Toys City British Royal Navy Special Boat Service (SBS) boxed set (Reviewed HERE). I used this head sculpt for a Sean Connery as John Mason from "The Rock (1996)" kitbash HERE

I like PMC sets because they offer a lot more kitbash options due to the non-military type of attire they wear. They are your basic civilians kitted out with all the military hardware and that makes it most versatile for kitbashing.

The problem with short sleeve shirts is that it shows off the rather obvious elbow joint. With the high quality of the many head sculpts that have been released, they can look almost real in pictures and showing off the elbow joints is a dead giveaway that this isn't real. Covering the elbow up by making him wear a sweater or long sleeve shirt would have been better but like I said, MORE options for us collectors.

Because of the flexible options PMCs employ when they go on the job, you can never say that the gear they are carrying is wrong because there really isn't any wrong options; just make sure that magazine pouches are designed to hold the correct magazines and ammunition for the weapon they are carrying. Otherwise when they run out of ammo, they are going to be in a cluster f*** (you know what I mean).

This is the other upcoming release from Very Hot - FBI uniform set. The headsculpt and figure used for posing came from the Soldier Story U.S. Navy SEAL SDV Team 1 military figure boxed set (previewed HERE) and bears some resemblance to Steven Lang who portrayed Colonel Miles Quaritch in AVATAR. Check out Mattel's 3 3/4-inch AVATAR Colonel Miles Quaritch Action Figure (Reviewed HERE) and the MK-6 Amplified Mobility Platform or AMP suit HERE

Actually I don't see the FBI association or link here. Just a name / title Very Hot tagged to this release I guess because I've seen better equipped 12-inch FBI figures with more gear and accessories than this. This guy could easily pass for a PMC too if you ignore the tag / label Very Hot put on this 1:6 figure

An MP5A2? Really? The UMP would have been BETTER

The Heckler & Koch MP5 (From Maschinenpistole 5 - German: "machine pistol model 5") is a 9mm submachine gun of German design, developed in the 1960s by a team of engineers from the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K) of Oberndorf am Neckar.

The MP5 is currently one of the most widely used submachine guns in the world, having been adopted by numerous law enforcement agencies and special forces groups. In the 1990s, Heckler & Koch developed the Heckler & Koch UMP, the MP5's successor, though both remain in production. [source: wiki]

For this guy to be a PMC, you'll have to replace his weapon with something with more power. Submachine guns are highly effective in close quarters; their lower-powered pistol cartridges make them generally more controllable in fully-automatic fire compared to assault rifles, while their small size and light weight grant maneuverability. However, pistol cartridges generally have low effectiveness against targets protected by body armor or cover, and are short-ranged compared to intermediate and rifle cartridges.

  1. i REALLY like these guys- i don't mind the short sleeves showing the obvious elbow joint, 'cause it reminds you that the incredibly realistic work you are looking at is a 1:6 toy, not a real person... an interesting juxtaposition
