This particular picture is my attempt at re-creating the iconic 1984 Terminator sci-fi movie poster image of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from the year 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose yet-unborn son John Connor will become the leader of the resistance movement against Skynet and its army of machines in the future.
To get this shot, I had to use the latest alternate T-800 head (see my earlier post HERE) from Hot Toys MMS136 1/6th scale T-800 12-inch Collectible Figure from "The Terminator" movie and attach it to the very first HT MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) figure released, MMS001 Battle Damaged T-800 with light-up eyes from 2005.
By releasing the latest T-800 figure (which is actually the FIRST Terminator to ever appear on the big screen), Hot Toys has come full circle because they can finally complete what they didn't finish with MMS001 i.e. obtain the license to use Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness for the T-800 head.
This alternate damaged head is different from the other 1/6 scale head sculpt that came with the HT MMS136 in that the other head (with differing hair style) and outfit the MMS136 T-800 Terminator wore was seen in the first part of the 1984 "Terminator" movie (see my previous post) whereas this alternate head is more in line with what the MMS001 Battle Damaged Terminator wore as seen in the second half of the film when the Terminator attacks the police station and kills many police officers in its attempt to locate Sarah Connor and terminate her, as was its mission.
Finally I can be satisfied with this T-800 figure with Arnie's likeness where he shoots everyone and everything in sight at the police station, right after he rammed his vehicle into the station but not before muttering the now famous line, "I'll be back!"
This Hot Toys MMS001 Battle Damaged T-800 Terminator figure also came with the Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun. The Terminator used it to kill the gun store owner and was one of the two weapons used by the Terminator during the assault on the police station, the other being the Armalite AR-18 assault rifle.
And here's a picture of the HT MMS001 1/6 scale Battle Damaged T-800 Terminator 12-inch figure with "Arnie" head from HT MMS136 T-800 Terminator 12-inch Collectible Figure standing side by side with the latest Hot Toys release. Both came with theAMT Hardballer Longslide .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) with laserlock sight and IMI Uzi 9mm Carbine but the earlier version had a lot more weapons (check out my reviews HERE and HERE).
Another look at the Hot Toys MMS136 1/6th scale T-800 12-inch Collectible Figure from "The Terminator" movie which I'd already covered in my previous posts.
This is the Hot Toys MMS117 "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" 1/6th scale T-800 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) 12-inch collectible figure, previously reviewed HERE. I've added the COO Model 1/6 scale M79 grenade launcher and bandoleer (reviewed HERE) to him
And this is the Popsalute released 1/6 scale T-850 Terminator 12-inch action figure from "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)" or "T3" in 2004. Check out the full review HERE.
Let's not forget there's also the die-cast 1/6 scale T-800 Terminator Endoskeleton by Sunrise. This thing is really heavy for a 12-inch figure because of all the die-cast metal parts, hence the need for the metal stand to hold the figure up. I usually prefer my figures displayed without the stands as they look more realistic that way.
A description from Kyle Reese from the film "The Terminator" states that: "The Terminator (T-800) is an infiltration unit, part man-part machine. Underneath it's a hyperalloy combat chassis, micro-processor controlled, fully armored, very tough. But outside it's living human tissue. Flesh, skin, hair, blood, grown for the cyborgs."
And here's a picture of all the T-800s in a group shot. Click on the picture for a bigger and better view :)
This is the original head that came with the Hot Toys MMS001 1/6 scale Battle Damaged T-800 Terminator 12-inch figure, because they couldn't get the rights to use Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness.
Here's a group picture of T-800s and supporting cast as covered in an earlier post HERE
Here's a picture of just some of the weapons (in 1/6 scale, of course) that were used in the Terminator films - sawed-off Winchester 1887 "Rosebox Shotgun", Browning M1919 machine gun fitted with a drum magazine as well as a shoulder strap and special side-mounted trigger, Heckler & Koch G36K with the stock removed, Colt Commando CAR-15 carbine, Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun, M79 grenade launcher, Remington 870 shotgun with a high-capacity magazine tube plus custom foregrip and heat shield, Handheld GE M134 Minigun with ammo belt, M4A1 Carbine with XM-26 LSS, AMT Hardballer Longslide with a primitive laserlock sight, IMI Uzi 9mm Carbine, Colt / Detonics M1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid pistol, SIG P250 and Line launcher with grappling hook.
The coffin is part of a weapons cache left by Sarah's friends as a backup in the event that Judgment Day was not averted. The 1/6 scale coffin came with the Popsalute "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" T-850 Terminator 12-inch figure boxed set.
You can check out the side bar on the right for reviews of other Terminator figures including Hot Toys T-1000, T2 Sarah Connor and T4 John Connor.

Hi Joshua
ReplyDeletethanks for alerting me to it but i'm not sure what can be done; that's why i put my blogsite name as a watermark nowadays but it still gets "taken". i've seen my pictures used in lots of places (on quite a number of e-bay items, on other sites and as people's facebook profile pictures etc.) and i'm not sure what's the legal stand and if there's anything i can do about it.
appreciate the alert CHEERS
I wouldn't worry or complain, it'll do nothing but advertise your Site!
