This is a second part photo review of the Hot Toys MMS136 (Movie Masterpiece Series) 1/6th scale T-800 Terminator 12-inch Collectible Figure with Arnold Schwarzenegger likeness from "The Terminator (1984)" movie.
The Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Series 800 Terminator (T-800) was sent by Skynet in 2029 to Los Angeles in 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, the future mother of John Connor, the leader of the future human Resistance.
After emerging from the time displacement sphere, at 1:52 AM on May 12, 1984 at the Griffith Observatory, the naked Terminator encountered three punks roaming the streets and forcibly demanded their clothing. And that's how the first Terminator was dressed - with dark gray colored jacket, black colored patterned sleeveless T-shirt / vest, khaki colored pants and black colored boots with studs on left side (the wife said it's very "beng").
In the previous post, we saw how the Termintor was dressed without his jacket. Here we see how he looks with his jacket on.
And these are close-up shots of the Hot Toys 1/6 scale T-800 Terminator head sculpt with Arnold Schwarzenegger likeness.
The resemblance to the Austrian-American actor is certainly very good. After conquering the world as arguably the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived, Arnold Schwarzenegger went to America to make his name in motion pictures.
Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action film icon, noted for his lead roles in such films as Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator and Commando.
After getting dressed, some time later, in the earlier hours of the morning, the Terminator went to a gun shop to acquire weapons for its mission. After it got what it needed, the Terminator terminated the shop's proprietor.
The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) acquires an AMT Hardballer Longslide .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) with laserlock sight.
The Terminator then checked a phone book for a list of Sarah Connors, finding a total of three. It proceeded to kill Sarah Ann Connor and Sarah Louise Connor before tracking down its intended target, Sarah Jeanette Connor, in Tech Noir.

Another weapon the Terminator acquires from the Gun Shop at the start of the film is an IMI Uzi 9mm Carbine. Upon tracking Sarah to the Tech Noir nightclub, the Terminator loses the AMT Hardballer Longslide when Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) intervenes in his assassination attempt, at which point he switches to his IMI Uzi.

The jacket is also studded, very 1980s fashion :)
The Terminator's black boots, with studs on left side.
Following the skirmish at the Tech Noir nightclub, the Terminator acquires his own Ithaca 37 standard police model 12-gauge shotgun with a full stock from the police car he hijacks after he is knocked in the middle of the street by Kyle and Sarah's car. He keeps it with him while he stalks Kyle and Sarah in the multi-storey Car Park. He then uses it to exchange fire with Kyle in the ensuing chase. Reese's stolen Ithaca 37 12-gauge shotgun had a sawed-off stock and barrel.
The release of this Hot Toys T-800 Terminator Figure with Arnold Schwarzenegger likeness is most timely too, seeing as how the retired governator is now set to return to showbiz. The former governor of California said on Thursday that he was returning to his former role as a Hollywood action hero.
"Exciting news," he wrote on Twitter. "My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today." Schwarzenegger originated the ominous line "I'll be back" in the first "Terminator" film in 1984, and it has become his trademark phrase for all occasions. [source: yahoo!]
the jacket at one time was a M-65 field jacket that has been altred

ReplyDeletethought you should know the shotgun in the kit provided is a Remington 870. not the Ithaca 37 that the terminator carries in the film.
