And finally we'll be seeing the 1/6 scale Robo Cain collectible figure :) Here's hoping that Hot Toys get the scale right and don't screw it up like they did with Iron Monger!
The Iron Monger is in perfect scale. Well actually, no figure is, but it's damn well close.
ReplyDeleteThe Iron Monger is not in 1/6 scale. It is way too small. If you look at the preview pictures of the prototype model with the Obadiah Stane head showing, you begin to wonder how a real person (in the right scale) could fit into the machine? Where is the rest of his body? Is he only just a chest up person without any pelvis or limbs? The figure looks ridiculously out of proportion and wrong from the picture shown.

Look at the way Hot Toys stuck Obadiah Stane's head in the Iron Monger like that - not realistic at all. Looks very fake to me how the head just sticks out. Doesn't look like a man in control of the Iron Monger armor suit; looks more like a man trapped in a man-hole and can't get out.
ReplyDeleteWell you're probably right. After examining the pics carefully, the limbs would have trouble fitting in there. But they could--it would just be awkward, whereas in the movie Bridges seems at ease inside. Still, with the top closed, the Monger will be an impressive piece.
ReplyDeleteOi anonymous don't mess with my man alex! He knows more about 1/6 figures than the Pope knows about the Bible! !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMany Thanks Joneefubar ;)
@ Anonymous: I totally agree that the Hot Toys Iron Monger will be an impressive piece for sure :) It's just that Hot Toys shouldn't say it's a 1/6 scale when it's not. I know most people will not display Iron Monger with the chest opened up because it'll show off the inaccuracies with the scale but standing as it is, it will be stunning :)
ReplyDeletehi Joneefubar, many thanks for the support ;p
ReplyDeleteIt is my understanding that to make a perfect 1/6 match for every figure is hard, and probably not economic. However, what annoys me more is the very often wrong scale of heads and feet (boots, shoes, and sneakers ...) .... compared to the offered bodies' size. meubrinquedobrazil.
ReplyDeleteWhy is everyone talking about the Iron Man series? I thought Alex was talking about the 2012 RoboCop Robo Cain - can all the 1:6 scale perfectionist exercise a little discipline in their comments and stay on-topic?
ReplyDeletethanks for the support ;p 1/6 Robo Cain would be awesome
