I don't know what to make of this. Phicen has been putting out some very interesting 1/6 scale female figures of late with the Phicen: LAURA (inspired by Lara Croft) 12-inch female action figure (pictures HERE) followed by Phicen Laura II Tumulus Raider (pictures HERE). There was even the Phicen 1/6 scale Assassin "Salina" 12-inch figure (check out the pics HERE) but these newly released preview pictures of Phicen's next female figure is causing quite a fair bit of confusion. Who is she supposed to be? And why is she dressed like that? Where's the military angle in this (she's called Military Fun which I don't get at all)?
This Phicen Military Fun 1:6 Scale Deluxe Collector Figure will come with female Head sculpt. 12-inch (29.5cm tall) Seamless body (Large bust size pale color), Exchangeable Hands 3 pairs / 6 pcs, White corset, White panties, Almond overcoat, Almond jupe (?), Almond skirt, Grass green boots, Grass green bootlegs.
Her outfit just looks ridiculous with her underwear larger than her clothes and showing for all to see. So much for modesty, if she had any to begin with haha Phicen may be wanting to show off their seamless female naked body but at least do it with style and not try to push something like this to collectors.
Too much cloth and the fabric will hide and conceal the seamless body and too little cloth will make almost any lady look like a tramp and you know what they say about tramps: "A woman lies around and sleeps; a tramp sleeps around and lies."
With her grass green leggings added to her grass green boots, she looks like she has grasshopper legs. So she's turning into an insect now? The only thing military with this Phicen Military Fun girl seems to be her green leggings and ankle boots.
Her almond coat makes her look like those ladies of the night in the movies. They wear nothing underneath but a coat to cover themselves until a prospective customer comes along. Then it's flash and pay ;p
Let's hope Phicen will turn around from this and go back to winning ways.
But on another note, at least this girl looks like a doll ;p which is more than can be said for some other manufacturer's female head sculpts where you can't really tell if it's supposed to be a woman or man. In Sunday's papers, it was reported that androgynous-looking women were being asked to pay cover charge at clubs on ladies' nights because these "girls" were dressed like men.
The marketing manager at Attica, Amanda Ng, says women “have to dress feminine and not be dressed in clothes that will confuse / misrepresent them as men.” One patron was even denied entry and asked to leave by the club bouncer who explained to her that the management accepts only “100 percent girls or 100 percent guys.”
Is it me or does the head sculpt look like Scarlett Johansson?
ReplyDeleteI will definitely buy this figure for the wacky tacky combination of clothing.
She Looks Like Starbucks From Battlestar Galactica. Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeletePrecisely my first thought. Maybe they were trying to make a "Starbuck" without crossing over copyright limits. That costume's definitely wacky.
