Phicen Laura II Tumulus Raider PREVIEW

This will be Phicen's second Laura female action figure, aptly named "Laura II Tumulus Raider" (any relation to Angelina Jolie in "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" is purely coincidental and most likely intentional LOL). After all, Phicen's first "Laura" figure was based on Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Phicen 1/6 scale Laura II Tumulus Raider female action figure will be about 29.5cm tall with thw PL2011-13 New Large Breast Seamless Body Tan C plus Head sculpt. Outfit includes White T-shirt, light-colored jacket, pistol holsters (left and right), belt, backpack and a pair of boots. She will be armed with two Uzi submachine guns with two Uzi submachine gun magazines, two USP HK pistols, two pistol clips. Additional parts: two pairs of replaceable hands and a figure display stand.

SIGH! So many companies with so many opportunities but only Hot Toys seem to be the one that can manage a decent looking female head sculpt. All these other wannabes look nothing like a proper female figure (and this one's feeling a little cold too!). The recent preview of the upcoming ZCWO 1/6 scale Captain Ranky 12-inch female action figure at least manages to look more like Angelina Jolie than this one's poor attempt. Besides Hot Toys, Sideshow comes in at a not too distant second with their Princess Leia and Asajj Ventress Dark Jedi female figures. There was also the recent "CatLady Custom Hand Made Figure" which was essentially a 1/6 scale Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman from "Batman Returns (1992)" – this one's quite GOOD too!

Toyhaven..I understand your thoughts on the head sculpt when it comes to comparing to Hot Toys but what is your opinon on the Laura II clothing and accessories? I personally had the pleasure of working with PHICEN on this collaboration and hope that everyone enjoys her as well. Thanks for the PREVIEW and keep the great PREVIEWS coming.

hey SMcG, thanks for visiting my humble blog :) I think the clothing and accessories are GREAT, very authentic and quite movie-accurate. I was just hoping for the HS to match the outfit for a complete looking figure. Most of us are not great painters and are not able to repaint a decent Angelina Jolie Lara Croft head from the existing ones in the market, so that leaves us hanging since we can't really say that this figure is Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft even though the outfit is from the movie.

Alex,
That is something I am definitely have suggested and will continue to see what I can do with PHICEN. In the latter stages of the project, this developed into a FULL FIGURE COLLECTIBLE as you see it today. With many customizers and kitbashers in the hobby,(me included) I have stayed on course and secured Laura II as a complete clothing and weapons set without the headsculpt, body and hands. This way it gives that extra option for those who would rather use their own female body and headsculpt. We all could use options sometimes...I hope everyone enjoys her when she arrives.
