24 is an American television series produced for the Fox Network and syndicated worldwide, starring Kiefer Sutherland as Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) agent Jack Bauer. Each 24-episode season covers 24 hours in the life of Bauer, using the real time method of narration. Premiering on November 6, 2001, the show spanned 192 episodes over eight seasons, with the series finale broadcast on May 24, 2010.
Anthony "Tony" Almeida is a fictional character played by Carlos Bernard on the television series 24. Almeida appeared in a total of 115 episodes, the third highest number of episodes of any character in the series behind Chloe O'Brian (125) and main character Jack Bauer (192), portrayed by Mary Lynn Rajskub and Kiefer Sutherland, respectively. This will be the next 12-inch figure to be released by Subway and it is called "24 Hours Betrayer". The 1/6th scale "24 Hours Betrayer" certainly bears a very strong resemblance to Carlos Bernard as Anthony "Tony" Almeida from the highly acclaimed TV series. Is Subway going to produce a line of 24 Hours figures since they have already released their first figure which was supposed to be Jack Bauer? See preview pictures of Subway's 24 Hours "Hero" figure HERE which I've already got (check out my March 2012 haul HERE) and will be posting pictures soon ;p
The Subway 24 Hours "Betrayer" 12-inch figure will include a 1/6th scale "tony" Head sculpt, 3 Pairs of eyes with different vision (scroll down to see what this is all about), 12-inch figure Body, 1 pair of hands
Parts list: Black Leather jacket (one can never have too many of these haha), gray Long sleeve grandad shirt (basically a long-sleeved collarless shirt), black Denim pants, gray Underpants (do they really need these?), belt with metal buckle (also in black), black Worker boots (black must be this guy's favorite color) and Sunglasses (silver).
Weapon of choice: USP Compact pistol (silver and black) with one USP Compact 9mm magazine and 268A Flatsider paddle holster
Check out the 1/6th scale USP Compact pistol in paddle holster and the nicely done black leather jacket
This Subway figure may be a bit sparse in terms of accessories but it's no different from other companies offering just a figure with dress suit e.g. Matt Damon and William Fichtner
As for me, I like my 1/6 men in black too because black is always IN fashion and never outdated and looks good almost everywhere except on the beach haha. This set makes for great kitbashing possibilities as well ;p
And this is Subway's 1/6th scale "Tony" Head sculpt and "3 pairs of eyes with different vision". What it means is that Subway's "PERS" (that's supposedly Hot Toys patented Parallel Eyeball Rolling System which is only reserved for their DX figures - see Hot Toys DX01 Joker with P.E.R.S.) is a kick in the butt for Hot Toys and EnterBay, as Subway is offering a cheap alternative from a much smaller company. That's giving the big boys a run for their money ;p
Certainly looking forward to how Subway does it since the hair piece doesn't look like it'll come off. perhaps the eyes are put in from the bottom via the neck joint. We'll just have to wait and see :)
And finally, here's Tony Almeida with his 1/6th scale Sunglasses
Im thinking it might work like the DX02 batman PERS.
ReplyDeleteYou could be right on the money Ben ;p For those who con't know what he's talking about, check out the link: http://toyhaven.blogspot.com/2010/02/hot-toys-dx02-batman-dark-knight-review.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info update...not a fan of the series...but the promoted eye feature is interesting, lets see!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the photos, now he is on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteyup this figure is quite nice :) and shouldn't be expensive too. if it's priced like their 24 Hours "HERO" (reviews coming up soon), then it's very affordable ;p
ReplyDeleteRecently I am very into 1/6 action figures and also do some photography. I got this figure at very affordable price. Highly posable. I have taken some shots and put it up at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.439352519532911.1073741861.366510233483807&type=1
ReplyDeleteHope you guys like it!
Thanks Toy Haven for all the reviews.
