"IT" is a 2017 American supernatural horror film directed by Andy Muschietti, based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King. The first of a planned duology, the film tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by the eponymous being, only to face their own personal demons in the process. Upon release, the film set numerous box office records and has grossed over $482 million worldwide.
Burger King in Russia has filed a claim in Russian court to get the movie "It" banned from national screens.
Via Newsweek, the Russian financial magazine Vedomosti is reporting that Burger King has claimed that It is a violation of Russia’s advertising laws because Pennywise is “is an exact copy” of Ronald McDonald, the longtime mascot of the King’s chief fast-foot rival, McDonalds. It gets better: the filing includes Burger King’s belief that part of the similarities between the two clowns include “the color range and the [balloons] with which the clown lures children.”

1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human 12-inch action figure Review II
continued from previous toy blog post HERE...
Here are some more pictures I took of the recently re-released 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human action figure. Besides putting this 12-inch action figure review under the Anime / Manga label because to me he looks very much inspired by that particular genre and would stand quite well beside Appleseed's Deunan Knute and Briareos Hecatonchires (check out my reviews posted HERE and HERE) or even Ghost in a Shell's Motoko Kusanagi (Medicom 1:6 scale version reviewed HERE), I also categorized him under the Kitbash label as all 12-inch figures are great for kitbashing and this is one more figure that can be added to the list of body types available.
In these pictures, I have the 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human 12-inch action figure holding the 1/6th scale Luke Skywalker light-up lightsaber which was reviewed earlier HERE as part of my January 2017 haul. The white skin does remind one of Asajj Ventress, a Dark Jedi who appeared in the "Star Wars: Clone Wars" cartoon (and the 12-inch version was reviewed on this toy blog earlier HERE).

Review 1: 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human 12-inch action figure
This was part of my January 2017 haul (posted earlier on my toy blog HERE)
Since coming across this 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human action figure some time back, I've been keen to get my hands on this figure but not for the price they were asking for on the after sales market which was quite high, being the usual over inflated price after the figure hits the secondary market where demand exceeds the limited supply. So I was most glad when TOA Heavy Industries said that they were bringing back this much wanted Synthetic Human at the reasonable asking price of USD150 including shipping.
So I didn't hesitate to put my pre-order in but the arrival of this figure certainly took a while. Estimated to ship in September 2016, it turned into a three-month wait as the factory ran into difficulty due to unforeseen circumstances (earthquake happened! That'll do quite some damage to any scheduling you might have planned). But it finally arrived and here are the pictures I took of the 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human 12-inch action figure.
I categorized him under the "Anime / Manga" label as that's what I see when I look at this 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human 12-inch action figure. Images of manga inspired anime from the likes of Ghost in a Shell and other Japanese animated stories spring immediately to my mind. I also get the "I, Robot" and "A.I." vibes from this figure. The wife mentioned Westworld which also has some relevance. This 1000toys TOA Heavy Industries 1/6th scale Synthetic Human figure has a very good range of articulation, quite on par with the recently released Phicen 1/6th scale Super-Flexible Male Seamless Bodies (PL2015-M30 reviewed earlier on my toy blog HERE and PL2015-M31, reviewed HERE and HERE)

October 2016 Haul: 1/6th scale Rey & BB-8 Two-pack Set, ArtFigures DeadShot + Phicen M32
This is my October 2016 haul: Hot Toys MMS337 Star Wars: The Force Awakens 1:6 scale REY and BB-8 collectible figure set, Art Figures AF021 1/6th scale Dead Soldier 12-inch action figure and Phicen Limited PL2016-M32 1/6th scale Super Flexible Asian Male Seamless Body.
I have been pretty busy lately packing everything for the big move to the newer, smaller place which should be ready in December. Hence the lack of reviews lately :( Many figures will have to go as the display space will be greatly reduced but that hasn't stopped me from getting new stuff LOL. It will be mostly out with the old and in with the new as I'm quite the sucker for new things and the innovative ways 1:6 manufacturers (toy companies sound so wrong since the figures I collect don't fall under the TOYS category anymore) have come up with to produce collectible figures. Case-in-point would be the DollsOddSaga 1:6 scale "Outer Heaven" Exo-skeleton collectible figure which I have just reviewed on my toy blog HERE and HERE, the first of its kind with an working / articulated exo-skeleton attached to a 12-inch body.
Okay, back to the reveal just in case you think these are just empty boxes. It seems there are people who do just collect Hot Toys boxes although I think that's happening less these days. See my toy blog post titled "Hot Toys Collector or Hot Toys Box Collector? Age-old question: To open / not to open the toy1" posted HERE. When Hot Toys first came on the scene, almost every figure would be sold out fast but these days, many Hot Toys figures can still be available at many sites because the take up rate is not as high as before.

Coreplay 1/6th scale Fitness2 12-inch action body - alternative female body for kitbashing
Coreplay first previewed their Fitness Body in June 2016 - check out the toy blog post HERE
According to Coreplay; "2.0 design is more same with 1.0,but there has some different in 2.0. The head make up will better, and there will no different color between face and body (1.0 has a little different color between face and body)."
There's also talk that Coreplay could be OE (Original Effect) re-organized under a new brand name since OE has mysteriously disappeared from the 1/6th scene after coming out pretty strong. Both the female head sculpts of Coreplay and OE are very anime inspired plus the visual styles appear identical in execution. I have some of the OE female figures and I quite like them. You can check out some comparison pictures of OE Killer Instinct Righter with Sam, Princess Jun, Vis Eris, Raiden & Boom posted on my toy blog HERE

Not Hot Toys Bane but custom-made 1/6th scale Bane costume set from "The Dark Knight Rises"
This was part of my August 2016 haul (posted on my toy blog HERE)
Better late than never :) This is a custom-made 1/6th scale BANE Head and Costume set. It is based on the character of Bane portrayed by Tom Hardy in the 2012 superhero film "The Dark Knight Rises". Bane is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. Known for his mix of brute strength and exceptional intelligence, the character is often credited as being the only villain to have "Broken the Bat". Bane was also portrayed by the late Robert Swenson in the 1997 film "Batman & Robin".
In "The Dark Knight Rises", Tom Hardy's Bane ia a mysterious and physically imposing revolutionary who was excommunicated from the League of Shadows and portrays himself as a "liberator of pain". He is desperate to continue Ra's al Ghul's legacy by destroying Gotham. The character was chosen by Christopher Nolan because of his desire to see Batman tested on both a physical and mental level. Hardy intended to portray the character as "more menacing" than Robert Swenson's version of the character in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin and that in order to do so, his portrayal entailed creating a contradiction between his voice and body. Hardy gained 30 pounds (14 kg) for the role and based Bane's voice on several influences, which include Bartley Gorman as well as a desire to honor the character's intellect and Caribbean heritage.

August 2016 haul: DAM TOYS 1/6th Gangsters Kingdom Diamond 5 "Ralap" & Wolf + Bane
It has been a quiet month for me in August as well as I only got two items: DAM TOYS Gangsters Kingdom series 1/6th scale Diamond 5 "Ralap" 12-inch action figure and Wolf "Ghost" PLUS a custom-made 1/6th scale Bane head sculpt and costume set. I've been eagerly waiting for this set since it previewed in September 2015 (see the toy blog post HERE) and it has taken almost a year for this product to be released. The problem with pre-orders is that sometimes it takes so long for the figure to be released that by the time it gets made, the interest for that particular figure might have waned or is no longer there. In the old days, there was a lot of impulse buying. You see, you like, you buy. Nowadays however, you see, you like, you pre-order and wait for it to come. I guess Dam Toys must have their hands full with lots of products to release. I won't complain as long as it gets made. There have been quite a number of figures that were previewed (like the Iconic Toys "The Savior" figure - posted HERE) but never saw the light of day so I'm quite pleased this finally came.
The Custom-made 1/6th scale BANE Head and Costume set was previewed in May (check out the post HERE) so at least it didn't take that long to be produced. There's no branding whatsoever because it's custom-made and done in small quantities but the quality looks good. How good? As good as Hot Toys so that's something. More on that in my action figure review to follow. Meanwhile, check out the first shots taken of these 1/6th scale products from my August 2016 haul.

Comparison pictures of Phicen 1/6th scale Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body M30 & M31
continued from previous toy blog post (action figure review 1)...
These are the two Super-Flexible Male Seamless Bodies released by Phicen so far. They have actually released quite a number of female bodies already and many companies have jumped onto their wagon and collaborated with Phicen to use Phicen's seamless bodies with metal skeletons for their own products which is probably a good marketing decision since Phicen has done all the research and testing and have come up with a very innovative and excellent product, so why bother re-inventing the wheel?
Many females have been released by Phicen and yet only these two males so far, PL2015-M30 on the left (reviewed earlier on my toy blog HERE) and PL2015-M31 on the right (see previous post for all the pictures). These bodies do not come with head sculpts so what you are seeing are actually Hot Toys Wentworth Miller head (taken from Hot Toys TTM18 True Type previewed HERE) on M30 and Hot Toys 1/6th scale Jake Gyllenhaal head (sold with TTM19 Muscular Body, reviewed HERE) on M31.
A very dear friend commented that his only complaint with all seamless bodies is the unnatural look of the elbow, actually the lack thereof, visually. But that is the only complaint. The wrists and ankles are very well "joined" so the seam line almost disappears. And he has been around 1/6th scale figures his whole life! He was there when G.I. Joe was created so that certainly puts him as an authority :) I also agree with Ted that the real advantage to these figures is not the seamless feature but their pose-ability / flexibility! I have never seen figures this flexible and pose-able. Seamless works well if the figure is posed in a pair of swim trucks for males and bikini for females but most of these figures will end up getting dressed so that leaves very little skin exposed. But you cannot deny they look good without clothes. No visible joint lines with poses that can look very natural and realistic. I really like these new super flexible seamless bodies by Phicen!

PHICEN PL2015-M31 1/6th scale Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body (31 cm tall) Review 1
I was so impressed with the first Phicen Limited Super-Flexible 12-inch Male Seamless Body figure that I pre-ordered this second version as well. Although I had gotten it in June 2016, I've only just come around to recview it. Phicen’s first male seamless body of muscular build, PL2015-M30, was reviewed earlier on my toy blog HERE. The first Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body was more muscular and looks a lot like a body builder whereas this version looks more like a regular guy who is fit but not overly muscular. Phicen PL2015-M30 seamless muscle body from head to toe is 29 cm whereas this recently released PL2015-M31 is 31 cm tall. Do note that the body does NOT come with a head sculpt and according to the company that produced this, its skin tone (TAN) matches that of most head sculpts.
I've used the 1/6th scale Jake Gyllenhaal head sculpt which came with the Hot Toys TTM19 TrueType Muscular Body Figure for this Phicen PL2015-M31 Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body and the head seems to match the skin tone of the body rather well. I also did an action figure review of Hot Toys TTM19 TrueType Muscular Body earlier HERE. While Hot Toys bodies (and most other 12-inch figures) have visible joints which take away the realism of the posed figure when their limbs are exposed, Phicen has excelled in producing seamless bodies (both male and female types) with no visible joints that are SUPER-flexible! The flexibility makes it possible to pose the figure in any position without any problems.
Its internal skeleton armature is made from durable stainless steel to withstand playability without being easily damaged or corrupted. Each armature has 26 points of articulation, using ball-jointed system, for maximum flexibility and movement. Each joint is designed to move freely and consistently with 90% accuracy. The stainless steel armature is wrapped with a non-toxic, environmentally friendly medical-grade material specially developed for Phicen bodies. The material features durable, anti-cracking qualities (see my post on cracked bodies HERE and HERE) that are easy to clean, but not easy to stain or dye. Additionally, the skin texture is designed to deliver a tactile experience of real skin.

Toyscity TC#6801 1/6th scale LA Cop uniform set would look great with a Robert Patrick 12" figure
1/6th scale Police Uniforms are always in demand and toy manufacturers have been releasing quite a number of them over the years. The most recent police uniform previewed on this toy blog was that of a Zombie Police Officer (posted HERE) and before that, there's the sweet looking police uniform belonging to female officer A. Lewis, soon to be released by Dam Toys (pictures HERE). Pop Toys also offered male and female police officer 12-inch figures but they just don't make the cut, especially the male officer because somehow they made him come across looking more like a male stripper LOL You can check out the pics HERE.
This Toyscity TC#6801 1/6th scale LA Cop uniform set should look very familiar to some of us, especially if you catch the "Austin" name tag and left-hand gun holster. It was famously worn by Robert Patrick, Jr. as a T-1000 in the 1991 science fiction action film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". Hot Toys has already released a 1/6th scale T-1000 collectible figure (reviewed HERE. HERE and HERE) but this is good for those who missed out on it many years ago. If you put Hot Toys Storm Shadow figure (Lee Byung Hun) in this uniform, then you can have the T-1000 from Terminator Genisys (2015). Another villain who impersonated a police officer was The Joker in the 2008 superhero thriller film "The Dark Knight" played by Heath Ledger. Check out the Hot Toys MMS DX01 1/6th scale THE JOKER (Heath Ledger) from "The Dark Knight" posing as a Gotham City Police Department police honor guard 12-inch figure HERE.

PL2016-M33 stands 30cm, to satisfy different DIY (kitbash) needs. We included a pair of feet connector / adaptor with which you can make it 1cm taller. As for the physique, it’s beautiful in the sense of being muscular in a very well-proportioned way, check out the pics to see that for yourself please.
If you ever had your hands on any of our first two models, then you know how flexible / posable / durable they are, how the skin feels like and despite some aspects to improve, how aesthetically beautiful and anatomically scientific the bodies are. As mentioned above, the first two models have got loads of attention and reviews, good and bad, we appreciate them all. They guide us the right direction to go. Combine that with our strong R&D and manufacturing strength, we could do better with higher efficiency.
If you’re new to our 1:6 scale seamless male figure body series, below is the basic info for you to get started:
PL2015-M30: of muscular build, has enjoyed great popularity since it’s debut.
PL2016-M31: of regular build and taller than PL2015-M30; stands approximately 31cm.
PL2016-M32: physique of Asian men, slim with very tight muscles. Will be available by end of Aug.
Similarities they share: Boasting human-like skin texture, and being super flexible, posable and durable.

Check out this CGL TOYS 1:6 scale "Human Resistance Leader" Head Sculpts & Body Set
Pre-order at KGHobby (link HERE)
CGL seems to have a thing for John Connor. They previewed the younger teenaged version played by Edward Furlong in 1:6 scale (see the toy blog post HERE) and now are showing us the adult version John Connor from Terminator Genisys. It's also more about selling the 12-inch figure body, offering us collectors another body option for 12-inch figure kitbashing. What's kitbashing? Well, you'll just have to check out my post HERE.
Terminator Genisys is a 2015 American science fiction action film, directed by Alan Taylor and written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. The fifth instalment in the Terminator franchise, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, reprising his role as the eponymous character, along with Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney. The film's plot follows soldier Kyle Reese in the war against Skynet, who is sent from the year 2029 to 1984 by John Connor, leader of the Human Resistance, to protect Connor's mother, Sarah Connor. However, once Reese arrives in the past, he discovers the timeline has been altered, and Sarah has been raised by a reprogrammed Terminator.
Jason Clarke stars as John Connor, the leader of the resistance, and later an advanced T-3000 Terminator. While Kyle was being sent back through time, a T-5000 (Matt Smith), the physical embodiment of Skynet disguised as a member of the Resistance, attacked John and transformed him into a nanocyte Terminator. John was tasked with ensuring Cyberdyne Systems' survival and traveled back in time to assist them with the development of Genisys.

June 2016 haul: Hot Toys 1/6th Mark XLV, City Ranger, Phicen Seamless Male & Royal Guard
How fast time flies. It's already almost the end of June which means we are passing the mid year and cruising towards the end of 2016 very soon. Hope your year has been good so far :)
My June 2016 haul comprises: Hot Toys MMS300D11 Movie Masterpiece Series Die-cast "Avengers: Age of Ultron" 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark XLV Collectible Figure, THREEQ 1/6th scale CITIES RANGER aka Stephen Amell as Green Arrow 12-inch figure, PHICEN Ltd PL2015-M31 1/6th scale Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body and Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Star Wars Movie Realizatio Akonaze Royal Guard action figure.
I am quite excited with this latest haul as Mark XLV is only my sixth Iron Man figure. I didn't bother with the rest of the Iron Man suits before this but I'm finally assembling the Avengers from Age of Ultron so this latest suit of armor will do nicely. I'm also glad to get my hands on THREEQ 1/6th scale CITIES RANGER 12-inch figure which is based on the ARROW television series on the DC Comics character Green Arrow. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who, five years after being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow. Then there's the PHICEN Ltd PL2015-M31 1/6th scale Super-Flexible Male Seamless Body, a new addition to the previously released PL2015-M30 which I have already raved about in my action figure review posted on my toy blog HERE. Finally, there's the Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Star Wars Movie Realizatio Akonaze Royal Guard action figure, a Samurai inspired Star Wars action figurine by Tamashii Nation.

COREPLAY 1:6 scale Female Fitness Body: another alternative option for kitbashing females
It's always good to have more options when kitbashing 1:6 scale stuff. Kitbashing or model bashing is a practice whereby a new scale model is created by taking pieces out of commercial kits. These pieces may be added to a custom project or to another kit. For the hobbyist, kitbashing saves time that would be spent scratch building an entire model. Hobbyists may kitbash to create a model of a subject (real or imaginary) for which there is not a commercial kit. To see the 1:6 scale stuff needed for kitbashing OR just some of my stash, check out my toy blog post HERE.
Kitbashing is different from figure collecting because the latter just means you simply go out and buy a 12-inch figure and add it to your collection. Most of us collect figures but not all of us kitbash. When you want a particular figure in your collection but one is not made available to you by any of the manufacturers, then you have to find other ways to get the figure you want and sometimes, that involves kitbashing :) For example, no one released a 1:6 scale Leonardo DiCaprio as Dom Cobb 12-inch figure from INCEPTION but the head sculpt was made available so I managed to bash not one but two Dom Cobb 12-inch figures - see my posts HERE and HERE.
It used to be that males collect action figures and females collect dolls in general. But when a female features in an action movie (e.g. Princess Leia in Star Wars, Selene in Underworld, Alice in Resident Evil, Black Widow in the Marvel films), does that make the female figure a doll or an action figure? When I started collecting 12-inch figures, I stayed away from dolls but that line has now become very thin and separating the two is rather tricky.
Here's the latest offering of a 1/6th scale female figure for kitbashing by Coreplay. It's called the Fitness Body and two colors will be made available: Light Version and Dark Version. The upcoming Product will consist of: Articulated Female Fitness body, Female head sculpt, Hand set (4 pairs), Arch heel feet, Flat Feet, Bodysuit. As can be seen through the body suit, the female body is the fully jointed type and not a seamless body.

Kitbash 1/6th scale Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man 12" figure (parts unknown)
While we are on the subject of alter egos and what a superhero wears when he's not saving the city / world / galaxy - see previous toy blog post HERE - how about what Spider-Man wears when he's not wall crawling or web swinging around New York city.
There have been quite a number of Spider-Man films made. The first Spider-Man film I ever saw was the 1977 American live-action made-for-television superhero film with Nicholas Hammond as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Then came the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man (3 films) followed by The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield in the lead role and the latest actor to fill those shoes is Tom Holland in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
I picked this guy up the other day and he's basically a kitbash 1/6th scale Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (Spider-Man) 12-inch figure from The Amazing Spiderman (2012). The outfit resembles the PIRP 1/6th scale Spider Boy Amazing Winter Casual Wear Set (posted earlier on my toy blog HERE) but it is not the same outfit although similar elements are present.

MC TOYS 1/6th scale Burglar Outfit Set is ideal for 12-inch Scott Lang as seen in "Ant-Man"
What does Ant-Man (Scott Lang) wear when he's not in costume? This is somewhat related to the previous toy blog post as well ;p
Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. Upon his release from prison, well-meaning thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) moves in with his old cellmate, Luis (Michael Peña). Unable to hold a job because of his criminal record, Lang agrees to join Luis' crew and commit a burglary. Lang breaks into a house and cracks its safe, but only finds what he believes to be an old motorcycle suit, which he takes home. After trying the suit on, Lang accidentally shrinks himself to the size of an insect. Terrified by the experience, he returns the suit to the house, but is arrested on the way out. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), the homeowner, visits Lang in jail and smuggles the suit into his cell to help him break out.
This MC TOYS (F-060) 1/6th scale Burglar Outfit Set looks to be the ideal set for kitbashing a 12-inch Scott Lang figure as seen in "Ant-Man", before he becomes the superhero. The 1:6 scale Burglar Outfit Set will come with: J-ENZO Jacket, Intercept PD Pants, Black Hoodie, Grey T-shirt, Black Leather Gloves, Icon Pack 3.0 Backpack, Socks, Black 6-inch Boots. NOTE: Head and body are not included. The great thing about this set is that this can also easily pass off as a perfect zombiecalypse survivor. Just give him some weapons and he's ready to roll.

WATAA! Watch out for Phicen PL2016-M32 1/6th scale Super Flexible Asian Male Seamless Body
This will be Phicen Limited's third 1:6 scale seamless male figure body with stainless steel skeleton. It’s the PL2016-M32 and it will be of a new build, based on the generic physique of Asian men, slim with very tight muscles. Boasting human-like skin texture, and being super flexible, posable and durable.
The previously released version 1 which is the PL2015-M30 is of muscular build, has enjoyed great popularity since it’s debut. You can check out the action figure review and pictures posted on my toy blog HERE. PL2016-M31 which will be of regular build and taller than PL2015-M30, stands approximately 31cm. You can check out the preview pictures HERE.
This latest version of an Asian Male Seamless Body will also NOT include a head sculpt (same as the previous two releases) but the shorts is included. That's because we Asians are rather modest and would like to keep our privates to ourselves LOL

ZY TOYS 1:6 scale Female (Archer) Shooter Accessories Pack for Speedy, GA's sidekick
Speedy is the name of two DC Comics superheroes, fictional characters that have each served as teenaged sidekicks for the Green Arrow (a.k.a. Oliver Queen). The original Speedy's real name was Roy Harper, Jr. In The CW's Arrow TV series, Roy Harper's role as Green Arrow's sidekick is taken over by Oliver Queen's sister, Thea Dearden Queen (Willa Holland) who is nicknamed 'Speedy" by Oliver (Stephen Amell).
This ZY Toys 1:6 scale Female (Archer) Shooter Accessories Pack will come with Leather Wind Coat, Eye Mask, Tube Top, Leather Pants, Boot / Shoe Covers X 1 Pair, Reflex Bow, Quiver, Arrows X 8. NOTE: Body and head sculpt are not included. Release date is approximately 3RD QTR 2016.
Pity this is not a full figure but just an outfit set. Would have been nice to have a 1:6 scale Willa Holland head sculpt. It would have gone nicely with the THREEQ 1/6 scale CITIES RANGER 12-inch figure aka Stephen Amell as Green Arrow, posted on my toy blog earlier HERE.
