NECA 10-inch ED-209 and McFarlane 7-inch Robocop action figure: two peas in a pod

continued from previous post...

Having reviewed the pretty awesome NECA Robocop 10-inch tall ED-209 Robot Action Figure (with Sound Effects & Dialogue) in the previous post, here are pictures of NECA 10-inch ED-209 and McFarlane 7-inch Robocop action figure standing together for a comparison of size. 7-inch RoboCop and 10-inch ED-209 seems to be of the right scale and height.

RoboCop and ED-209 seems to be made for each other. I don't think you can have one without the other. RoboCop was made possible because of the disastrous malfunctioning of ED-209 during it's first introduction. And RoboCop got to meet ED-209 in the office of OCP Senior President Richard "Dick" Jones when RoboCop goes to arrest Dick. All these happened in the 1987 science fiction action film "RoboCop" directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Peter Weller as Officer Alex Murphy / RoboCop, not the 2014 remake of RoboCop, directed by José Padilha, with Joel Kinnaman playing the title role of Alex Murphy and Gary Oldman as a new character named Norton, the scientist who creates RoboCop and finds himself torn between the ideals of the machine trying to rediscover its humanity and the callous needs of a corporation.

The McFarlane Robocop action figure is a surprisingly good figure. Along with having a fantastic sculpt, it also features some nice articulation. It can move its head forward and back and side to side; the shoulders had swivel-hinges, allowing for some ball joint-like range of motion; it had ball jointed hips; a swivel at the waists and swivels at the wrists; and hinges at the elbows, knees and ankles.

The McFarlane 7-inch Robocop action figure has a smooth, glossy shine applied to its armor body, with a blueish gleam. We all know that Robocop was technically silver in the first film and blueish-silver in Robocop 2, but the touch of blue gives it a nice look and feel and I'm not particularly picky about it.
