Training on the Falcon

A big thank you to buddy Shaun who told me about this pack selling in Compass Point Metro. Having already bought the Star Wars Legacy Collection Millennium Falcon (which is a beauty and IMHO a MUST HAVE for all Star Wars fans - my take on it HERE), this Star Wars The Legacy Collection Battle Packs "Training on the Falcon" is certainly a great addition as these figures are current with the Millennium Falcon.

Description on pack:
The Millennium Falcon escapes from Tatooine and the Imperial stormtroopers who are searching for R2-D2 and C-3P0. On board the ship, a new Jedi receives his first lessons in the power of the Force. Luke Skywalker practices his lightsaber skills against a training remote, under the guidance of the wise Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Far away, Darth Vader feels a change in the Force as young Skywalker's powerful Jedi abilities are awakened.

There are the two droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, two of the four characters to appear in all six of the Star Wars feature films, the other two being Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

And the two humans, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Obi-Wan Kenobi or old Ben (played by Sir Alec Guinness in 1977's "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope")

Other accessories included in the Star Wars The Legacy Collection Battle Packs "Training on the Falcon" set - five gas masks (one much bigger than the rest - I assume it's for Chewbacca), two containers, one fire extinguisher and one Flight Helmet with Blast Shield lowered

The containers have lids which can be opened

R2-D2 (phonetically spelled Artoo-Detoo or Artoo-Deetoo, and called "Artoo" for short): The plucky astromech droid holds important information that must be delivered to the Rebel Alliance (everybody knows they are blue-prints to the Death Star Space Station)

C-3PO (or Threepio): The fussy, worry-prone protocol droid never abandons his friends no matter how alarming events become.

Probably the most famous robot pair ever! And the most recognized robots (droids) in the film industry. They both played a vital and pivotal role in the Galaxy's history.

When you turn or rotate R2-D2's chrome head, the scanner antenna pops up and down - nice touch by Hasbro

Luke Skywalker: Luke dreamed of becoming an Imperial pilot, but he never imagined the strange turn his life would take because of a droid.

What's with his THUMBS?!! Did he suck on them too much or something?

Luke Skywalker with Blast Shield Helmet and those horrendous thumbs!!

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Destiny pulls this legendary Jedi from his hermetic life, and he finds himself battling danger... and Darth Vader, his former apprentice.

Ben's hands are much better sculpted than Luke's and holds the light saber better too but the attempt to mix materials and make him look like he's wearing a robe comes across as him trying to be all scottish (skirts are for girls!).

Check out the different hands of both figures

The detailed review of the Star Wars Legacy Collection Millennium Falcon can be seen HERE (I had to go out and buy a new coffee table as the Falcon's landing pad!)

Full review of 1/6 scale R2-D2 and C-3PO HERE (so far, the only 1/6 scale poseable figures of them ever released)

There's also Sideshow Collectibles 1/6 scale Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode IV (pictures HERE) and then there's the final duel between Sideshow Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi (link HERE)

  2. That's not a fire extinguisher. It's actually the device that Leia put on Luke's hand when he was rescued from Bespin. After it was cut off. It plugs into the slot on the table in the Legacy Collection falcon and fits over one of the Luke action figures with the removable hand.

  4. A bit late to the comment party, but the technical name for the "fire extinguisher" is the "Bacta Tourniquet". In the Legacy Collection Millenium Falcon, you can attach it to the Medical Bay...there is a small hole where the pointy end plugs in nicely.
