SAS Scud Hunter, Operation Desert Storm, Gulf War 1991

When Saddam's Iraq invaded Kuwait on 2 August 1990, it triggered what would become the First Gulf War. Operation Desert Storm began on 17 January 1991. In order to draw Israel into the war and thus create further chaos by making it a Jihad or holy war which would involve all the surrounding Arab states, Iraq fired Scud missiles on Israel. Thankfully, Israel did not take the bait. The US deployed two Patriot missile battalions in Israel to counter the Scuds while at the same time, US-led coalition forces carried out "Scud Hunts" to locate the mobile Scud missile launchers before they fired them in the Iraqi desert.

The British SAS were one of those special forces deployed. They used bikes and their pink Landrovers to hunt the Scud missile launchers in the hostile enemy terrain. The first units into Iraq were three patrols of B squadron, callsigns Bravo One Zero, Bravo Two Zero, and Bravo Three Zero in late January.

For this Kitbash, I used the 1998 GI Joe Fast Attack Cycle from Hasbro
