Speed (1994) starring Keanu Reeves

"Get Ready for Rush Hour!"

The movie "Speed (1994)" directed by Jan de Bont had Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bullock, Joe Morton and Jeff Daniels in it. Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves) and his veteran partner Harry Temple (Jeff Daniels) who are SWAT team explosives experts in Los Angeles failed to arrest an insane bomber/extortionist (Dennis Hopper). After the bomber escapes, he sets up a bomb on a city bus which Traven boards and must keep it moving above 50 miles per hour (80 km/h) or the bomb will explode. Besides trying to catch the bad guy and saving the passengers on the bus and the city from a potentially explosive situation, Jack has time to fall for Annie Porter (Sandra Bullock). Great movie!!!

Hot Toys first SWAT figure was supposed to be Keanu Reeves as Jack Traven but the assault vest was way too big and it goes down to his crotch so I gave it a miss. Managed to snag this Dragon Keanu Reeves head sculpt which is just as good and decided to bash my own Jack Traven.

Just like in the movies, if you'd paid money for a star's looks, don't hide it behind a mask or under a helmet - heh! heh!

After Keanu's role as an LAPD SWAT officer, every girl wanted him and every guy wanted to be him (he got to make out with a very young, hot and spunky Sandra Bullock)

There's also the Los Angeles County Sheriff's SWAT "Chuck Morris", FBI HRT, BBI Cleveland SWAT, Hot Toys LAPD SWAT v2.0 with Colin Farrell head sculpt, Dragon's Colin Farrell SWAT figure, BBI LAPD SWAT "Sergeant Mendez", Takara's Combat Joe SWAT, Dragon NYPD ESU "Bill" and "Winona".

Hot Toys also released a Keanu Reeves "Neo" figure from "The Matrix (1999)" as part of their Famous Type line (this was before Movie Masterpiece) which was way better than the expensive no-value-for-money Medicom version.

  6. actually i also not too sure about the pads coz i bash here and there that after a while, everything ends up in the "parts" bin and i just take stuff out from there. pretty sure that the assault vest and leather holster is from Saturday Toys coz that's what caught my attention. A nice set if you ever need a SWAT uniform & accessories :)

About the head sculpt - not too sure myself. if it doesn't resemble any famous person, it must have been done some time back. i was wondering if it's HT coz the eyebrows seem to be inked in and not painted on.
