Boromir from Lord of the Rings by Sideshow

Boromir, Son of Denethor, the heir of the Steward of Gondor, thought that the One Ring could be used to save the land he loved, and was tempted by its power. He succumbed and tried to take the Ring from Frodo Baggins at Parth Galen, causing the Fellowship to break. But in the end Boromir redeemed himself by sacrificing his life in defense of Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took.

Boromir is the third LOTR figure released by Sideshow, after Aragorn and Legolas.

Boromir is very well dressed compared to the rusty green and brown attire of Aragorn and Legolas. He wears a maroon shirt with chain mail sleeves covered by a silky red tunic with gold patterns on the sleeves and gold buttons. Over his tunic he wears a blue surcoat with silver edges.

On both arms are vambraces (forearm guards) with nice details. In the movie, he's played by Sean Bean although the likeness is hard to make out. He does look better than the prototype (shown on the box) and is a nice head sculpt, just can't see Sean Bean's likeness.

His weapons - shield with strap, sword with scabbard, dagger and scabbard plus Horn of Gondor

Horn of Gondor, heirloom of the Stewards of Gondor. When Boromir was slain, the Horn of Gondor was cut in two by Orcs.

Boromir's shield can be slung on his back with the strap attached

His dagger by his side, sort of like a sidearm or samurai's wakazashi

And Boromir makes three in the Fellowship of the Ring.

That head sculpt is light years better than Aragorn's.

Although Boromir is a fool in the first movie, I'm fond of this figure.

I suspect you'll answer this question anyway, but I was curious whether he's taller than the other Sideshow figures. He's taller than the DiD Legolas, which gives him more presence--even if they were the same height in the movie.

(Scale seems to be a recurring theme for me.)

Thanks! Who's next?!

Hi dash, most definitely better than Aragorn's. Still not too happy about the hair though.

Hey greg, Boromir turned out nicely as a figure and gotta get him to complete the Fellowship. Was quite disappointed with DiD's LOTR figures after some promising prototype pictures. Heightwise, all Sideshow figures have the same height which can be expected since they are using the same scale bodies.
