DiD "Captain Miller" Preview: BEST Tom Hanks likeness EVER

To be released real soon from DiD (available January 2010, that's this month, any day now "WooHoo") - 1:6 scale 12-inch "Captain Miller", 2nd Ranger Battalion, Normandy June 6, 1944. IMHO This has to be the BEST Tom Hanks as "Captain John H. Miller" from "Saving Private Ryan (1998)" head sculpt EVER!!!

Check out the lips, the stubble, the neck lines - jaw dropping AWESOME!!!


And the World War II 2nd Ranger outfit is not too bad either. Going by DiD's past standards, this one is going to be a winner for sure!!

It's taken a long time for this to arrive and it's definitely worth the wait. I want it and I want it NOW!! So much for the Soldier Story version (see pictures HERE) which was released last year with the small head. This "Captain Miller" totally whoops Sorry Soldier's (oops, I meant Soldier Story's) a$$

Verdict: The 1:6 battle between DiD and Soldier Story for collector's preference for WWII 12-inch military figures is over and DiD has won!! Thanks to the rivalry, we 1:6 collectors benefit :) With this figure and last year's WWII US Army 2nd Ranger Marksman "Private Daniel" (Barry Pepper), perhaps DiD will start releasing the whole 2nd Ranger squad from "Saving Private Ryan" this year. That will certainly make me one VERY HAPPY collector.
