This is Foxbox Studio's latest release from their 1/6 scale God Complex series: Inari, the ruler of Nippon which was first reviewed HERE. Being the third figure in the series and having learnt from previous experiences, Foxbox Studio can only get better and better :) In Japanese folklore, Inari is the kami (god) of foxes, of fertility, rice, tea and Sake, of agriculture and industry, of general prosperity and worldly success, and one of the principal kami of Shinto.
Drawing from that inspiration, Bryan Lie of Foxbox Studio has created a masterpiece in the Inari design by making the head / helmet look like a fox and also look armored as well. I really like the concept of Inari being white, whereas Hermes (reviewed earlier HERE, HERE and HERE) and Hades (reviewed HERE, HERE and HERE) are dark gray and black altogether. The combined look of having armored helmets / heads with civilian outfits instead of elaborate costumes is also a refreshing change. These God Complex figures look like they just walked out of a fashion magazine. Foxbox Studio 1/6 scale God Complex: Inari 12-inch Collectible Figure comes fully dressed in black round neck T-shirt under his cool white jacket, dark gray pants, black socks and dress shoes. He also comes with a red scarf around his neck. The scarf had metal wires inside so that it can be manoeuvred for poses.
God Complex: Inari 12-inch Collectible Figure also comes with four extra hands (two pairs - one pair of fists, one right hand for holding his Kitsune Rod and another left open palm), Kitsune rod with dual "blades". Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox.
In this toy blog post, you can see the Kitsune rod with dual "blades" attached.
You have the option of only attaching one "blade" if you like or removing the "blades" completely to have him just holding the hilt.
As for me, I chose to have Inari wielding a double-bladed Kitsune Rod.

Love the fox head / helmet, love the outfit, love everything about this figure :)

Here's a look at the foxes that came with this Foxbox Studio 1/6 God Complex: Inari 12-inch Collectible Figure. (See previous post)
This picture gives an idea of the size comparison between Inari and his foxes. The foxes look small but then again, I'm unfamiliar with how big foxes are supposed to be.

Alex, I got my Inari today. The red paint apps on his helmet were not perfect, to my surprise. Whoever painted the red lines on mine didn't have the steadiest of hands... certainly not a paint job worthy of the price tag.
Also, the lazer sword bits did not fit into the rod well and I had to shave off a bit of one of them before it could fit.
Btw, the Kitsune rod handle fits snugly into this black sleeve compartment of his leather gauntlet so you can display him with the lazer sword sticking out of the heel of his palm. This concept was also shown in earlier prototype pics.
I still like Hermes the most, followed by Inari and Aries. They really need to announce the next figures, but to be honest, I am not that stoked about the upcoming designs.
What does the fox say? That damn song keeps playing in my head. LOL
